    the most hardest part for me: is to start and throw away the perfectionism

    • @HexYan
      @HexYan 3 года назад +4

      I did that and my art started to improve a lot. Trust me the moment you say " STOP!" and post that art or whatever and start something new, in that moment you will realize that perfection is pointless. Practice it, i know it needs to be practiced. It helped a lot for me. Now i don't care about perfection, i know the next one is something new not connected to the last one.

      As a complete beginner in digital 2D art, I'm struggling more with the physical interface than anything else at this point. Getting my hand to do what I envision is punishing, and I have good manual coordination as a keyboard and guitar player. However, training my motor skills for 2D art is proving to be a huge challenge for me.

    All your drawings have such a sense of mystery and most of the times, peace. They are so clean and GORGEOUS.
    How does one even draw so beautifully :O

    I just saw an ad for evenant and I'm going to join in a couple months when I've saved up!!! I've been looking out there for a good site to learn how to do digital art. I'm not very good at shading and colors and want to grow in that area and learn how to use tools too! I really enjoy this video so far thank you for sharing 🙌

    I think a livestream where you go through each step and the brushes used. Maybe get viewer suggestions of the type of landscape to be done.

    Loving your videos Walid. Even after several years of digital painting I am learning a lot from you. It would be great to have a video of a more 'ambitious' painting, with a landscape/seascape and a character. You could film the whole live process and cut into 20ish minutes daily videos for RUclips, keeping the algorithm happy. This way you wouldn't have to do a talk over afterwards, saving you time and energy. You could even imagine cutting the videos depending on what you are doing in them, i.e. composition, shaping, lights, storytelling, character design, details... I am sure this would have a lot of success. You are an amazing teacher and would love to see this kind of content more regularly. Keep up the good work :)

    Momentum is the word you are searching for ! And I totally agree, if you have the habit of playing games then you don't really wan't to do art, games are more fun, but if you get in the momentum of drawing/painting then it's easier

    Beautiful piece! Love the color of the water. So, this was inspired by "Wind Waker". An interesting and fun game. That island makes me think of the Forbidden Fortress. The play of light adds so much to the feel of a story.

    On the message about digital art programs, Krita is free, and is by far the best digital art program available, is open source, and is constantly updated on a regular basis (and has a very strong community behind it). It is significantly better than Clip Studio Paint, which is more of a hobbyist program in general. Krita is objectively a better program for digital painters than even Photoshop is, and it's features allow artists to work far more productively than anything else on the market.
    That being said, I also don't understand the constant complaints about Photoshop being "too expensive". It's not expensive at all, it's only $10 a month. Most of the same people complaining about that spend just as much or more on their Starbucks coffees each month. It's very weird to me to hear that ridiculous complaint from people because I grew up with Photoshop when it was over $500 per update, and most artists were working on 2 or 3 year old editions to save money. $10 a month is pocket change, provides you with the most up to date versions of Photoshop at all times so you're always working with the latest features, and especially if someone is even half serious about doing art as a profession, the way I see it if someone's not willing to spend $10 a month on their career path, they aren't very serious about it in the first place.

    Hi Walid, in my opinion, is great have the chance of watching your complete process to make any concept art in photoshop(at normal speed), it doesn't matter that you not explain the process at all, only watching is helpful to learn.
    it would be great that you might do some live transmision of your paintings, from start to the end.
    maybe you could add some tips and important info in the description of the video

    I never understood the reluctance to use reference materials. The great masters of old relied on references all the time. Their detailed studies and sketches served as references for more elaborate paintings. If they had access to the incredible resources we have today, they would most certainly have loads of reference photos. Would anyone scoff at Leonardo Da Vinci's mastery of the human form? His references included very detailed sketches of human autopsies. Even a genius like Da Vinci did not create art in a vacuum.

    • @ninja_tony
      @ninja_tony 3 года назад

      Too many young people today that don't know any better have spread the false idea that using references is cheating, and most people - instead of thinking critically about why that's wrong - choose to believe it. And in some ways, it's not their fault because they don't know any better (meaning those artists that are told that it's cheating. It absolutely IS the fault of those telling others that it's cheating, because they KNOW it's not.) I think it's just a matter of people being self conscious about their own work, and can't stand the idea that others are better than them, so they try to bring down any other artist they can.

    Really love your work and your very interesting technique of using the lasso tool.
    I would like to add that if you're thinking about making videos about other softwares, you should do a full deep dive into the features. I often see videos where people try out other apps and turn away within a few moments. I think you'd be surprised at how good how cheaper and even some few softwares are nowadays!

    Is it hard to learn to draw with mouse? because i have 0 drawing skills and i wanna learn it but i can't afford drawing tablet so any advice about drawing with mouse? thanks! :)

    • @ayaneagano6059
      @ayaneagano6059 3 года назад

      Amnesia,
      I would not advise drawing with a mouse, your lines will almost always look wobbly and terrible. It also gives you severe carpal tunnel and cramps because of the small space. I’m not sure that there are many people nowadays that could give advice on that because almost no one draws with a mouse given how advancing technology has lowered the price of tablets.
      There are $20~$50 screenless tablets from Huion and XP-Pen that are hopefully within your budget.
      This tablet from Huion is $40 and has shortcut keys: www.amazon.com/Inspiroy-H640P-Graphics-Battery-Free-Sensitivity/dp/B075T6MTJX/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&qid=1601625694&refinements=p_36%3A1253504011&s=pc&sr=1-2
      This one’s $50 and has a more comfortable working space: www.amazon.com/Graphic-Drawing-Function-Battery-Free-Pressure/dp/B07DPC98DT/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&qid=1601625694&refinements=p_36%3A1253504011&s=pc&sr=1-4
      Krita is free software for PC and Mac and it’s great for illustration, painting, and animation (animation especially when paired with Hitfilm Express for compositing, which is also free and is like Adobe Premiere Pro).
      If you can’t do any of that, draw with your phone even with Procreate Pocket or Ibis Paint X; check out angrymikko’s video on Procreate Pocket to see the quality you can get with your finger.

    Your photoshop lag may be caused by your tablet. Does it lag when you use a mouse? If not, try using the tablet plugged in with a cord, if it is bluetooth...that fixed my Photoshop lag problems for me. I also have wacom

    • @ninja_tony
      @ninja_tony 3 года назад

      This is definitely a common issue with Wacom tablets. I had the same issue as well with my Intuos Pro. I pretty much kept it plugged in all the time because it always lagged when wireless. I've since switched to an XP Pen display, and it's so much better, but I still occasionally go back to the Wacom just because it's there. It pretty much has to be plugged in to work adequately in my opinion.
