It’s always so much fun to watch him because he is always having fun. It’s contagious. It’s the way I feel when I’m playing, I’m just not half as good as he is.
i used to work at a rehersal studio in hollywood and set up the sound there for phil x in the early 2000s when he was with a band that had a female singer and female acrobats 💀 good to see he still looks high af with that smirk he's got haha 💀 always smiling :) gg
My pleasure! I’ll be posting more too. I did spend time with Taj, his dad, and his new guitar player Tyson. They didn’t perform this year but they were at the show.
@@johnsguitarlounge well, they know what they're doing to make Taj's life & band grow. Taj will always be #1 in my book as far as that band is concerned!!
@johnsguitarlounge well, I AGREE there!! He should be allowed to play EVERY YEAR in my book!! However, I'm sure he's still having the time of his life watching all of the others and soaking up any information he can for himself!! I'm hoping to go back & see him in July in Buffalo, trying to get the cash together but I have an old pup right now who is taking up some more of my time & finances. Not trying to play hero but trying to make sure she's 100% comfortable in whatever time she has left.
haven't seen him in awhile. starting to take on the aging granny look. but this 60 yr old emulating 80 yr old dead acts has got to come into the modern era somehow or "rock" will be irretrievable and die.
I love that he thru a tribute in to another Canadian great, Bachman!
Yes! Glad you caught that too!
Amazing showman! Phil X Rules!!!!
He really is awesome! And he’s a great guy.
Thank you!!! looking forward to more videos!!
My pleasure! I’ll be posting more soon.

I feel you!
A surprisingly spirited cover (with lots of extras). Kudos!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Pretty talented, huh?
He’s a whole lot of unhinged controlled crazy. Drills are an awesome powerhouse trio.
He really is amazing isn’t he?
I don't think Matt is drumming for The Drill's is he?
I usually don't like those type of solos but that was fun to watch.
He does it right and he’s just super entertaining.
Wow. Just, wow.
Right?
Phil just rules. A rock solid old school foundation! American Woman...I saw that!😂
He sure does rule! Did you catch The Flintstones?
@@johnsguitarlounge Yep! 👍
Who else do you like?
@johnsguitarlounge Awww man, so many influences for me. Gary Richrath was very underrated. George Lynch and early Billy Gibbons.
Drummer loses a stick but not a single beat LOL !! That was great !
He’s an amazing drummer!

That’s awesome! He really is a great guy and what a talent.

I couldn’t agree more!
Thanks for this. Did you see Taj?❤🤘

@johnsguitarlounge Taj added someone?? Like is Nathan Bryce & Loaded Dice still playing with Taj & they added someone??
Yes Nathan is still there too. They added an 18 year old guitarist make Tyson. Really nice kid.

Ahhh at Namm huh?? Gonna see our Friend too??
I did see him! As a matter of fact, I picked him, his dad, and Tasha‘s friend up at the airport lol. He didn’t play this year though.
@@johnsguitarlounge W H A T??? WHY???
@@johnsguitarlounge that's kool you picked them up!!
NAMM doesn’t usually have the same acts play two years in a row. Even though I think they should have made an exception for Taj!

no volume
Not sure what you mean. It has volume when I play it.

He does a lot of his own material too. What’s wrong with covering a classic?
Tasteless choice of song seeing how ten's of thousands of acres of L.A. area just burned to the ground!!
He did the song as a tribute/protest, not out of spite.
Not my style.feankly a bit dated and as always sloppy.
Not sure what you mean it’s sloppy?
The guy just shreds. On a guitar that 14 year old could play. But never like that. And until I see you up there doing that... Shut up!!!
Gives you a whole new appreciation for mitch mitchell idf you needed an excuse to find one.
Mitch is fantastic - there’s no denying that.
