This was good- I like how you just had a good dental assistant demo it - the truth is that good assistants are much more smooth and efficient at this than most dentists, me included!
As already stated she did not reglove after cleaning, she touched and recontaminated just about everthing, she did not purge any watelines. The directions on the caviwipes say something to the effect... (I don't have container in front of me) wiping will clean the surface but if you want to disinfect you need to leave the surface wet with a wipe over the surface for 3 min. then wipe again. tThat's why I suggest cavispray as it's a not likely someone will cover a room in wipes for 3 min. And remember that room had "blood" all over it. oh and she wasn't wearing the proper PPE. water proof gown or protective glasses, seeing glasses are not protective gear!
She didn't deglove after removing dirty barriers, then touched the wipes container, then the DOCTOR picked up the container with his BARE hands, then she touches her glasses, then she goes into the cabinets and she continues spreading germs onto the counter. That room is FILTHY.
Might as well change your clothes and shoes every after patient. I think the important thing is making sure that every single instrument that is used inside a patient's mouth is rust free, thoroughly washed, disinfected and sterilized. As a patient, that would be my main concern.
well for one you should clean rooms with punture resistant, and chemical type gloves, you can take off barriers with clean reg. gloves by not touching , grab by cords and remove, you dont have to touch item your unbagging, you can spray wipe spray them but if you never touch at end of day is ok , when cleanin rest of room you should preclean areas for blood, which means a, b ,c you dont use the same wipe after removing blood spray wipe spray dont continue, it kills me to see assistants takin one wipe everywhere , its like wiping baby but you would not wipe butt and then the face . but it is very easy and fast to use barriers but you need to not touch uncovered with dirty anything
Omg!!! What's the point of cleaning when she picked up the dirty equipments with one hand cleaned it... and then place it back with the same hand you picked it up with🙄 smh. You hold the top of the equipments with the cavi wipes and place it back!!! When you wipe materials down, spray it down with cavi spray then wipe and release it from the cavi wipe unto the disinfected area on the counter. Then take dirty gloves off put all the stuff in the draws or wherever it goes and place barriers. 😁 Then set up for next patient. Flush hoses and cusperdor at end of day unless it's an extraction...you pull off the metal parts of the suctions and use a brush to scrub inside rinse and drop into sonic bath...then spay the hell out of the operatory...and so on and so forth and whatever 🤪 always remember 'if saliva was blood' and cleaned as though you are the one that will be sitting in the dental chair💖🤗 I have yet to see a video where it is actually done correctly 😀 maybe I'll make one😁
The unfortunate thing is that she never changed her gloves after emptying the room of trash and dirty instruments. She doesn't have a disposable gown on while emptying and she is not wearing puncture-resistant gloves. She didn't use a locking lid container to transport as far as I could see. And she never changed her gloves after she wiped the entire room down before putting new barriers on. The room and cupboards are all dirty.
sussie op i got the name right.... but dont you think that it could have been a better practice as far as patient safety is concerned to change the gloves immediately after removing the disposable plastic bags....... thats my opinion besides i thank you for uploading the video else i would not have had anything to comment about
This is totally wrong , the assistant should change her infected contaminated gloved and put on a new gloves when she go to clean the surfaces and put a new rubbing . Because dr. U hold the wipes container after she holds it with the infected gloves , it is better to remove this vedio .
Yup you are right. after she removes all the plastics, she should change into new gloves then spray or wipe down the room. It's funny how she uses a new pair of gloves to put on the plastics....LOL. why didnt she use the new ones that are not contaminated to spray/wipe down the room. You can use bare hands to put on plastics since you clean it already....
In actual world, real world, not just commenting world, which anybody can do and find fault, it's difficult to achieve absolute disinfection. The moment you sneeze, cough( with covered face ,mouth ) and what not especially in a public space it is contaminated. Doing things in a protocol is to keep things safe as much possible not absolute. Record doing a cleaning work in own setup, and see for yourself how many you repeat, which probably you knew, but missed. Better to be smart, not over .
She contaminate the patient's chair in the back with her contaminated gloves after she removed her plastic covers.she should spray everything first then remove the plastic covers then change gloves clean the handpieces that touched,or she should hold paper towels wet and clean and remove plastic covers the same time.Bad disinfection work.
She did this soooo wrong.... gloves were not changed after touching dirty instruments, instruments were not sprayed down, she keeps touching her face, never washed her hand before changing new gloves, and didn't wash her hands at the end.
This was good- I like how you just had a good dental assistant demo it - the truth is that good assistants are much more smooth and efficient at this than most dentists, me included!
Time to change those gloves 🧤 Natasha 🧐

I was just saying the same thing when I started watching the video. She should have put on new gloves after touching the instruments.
This helped a lot for working in my job, thank you! :)

I was thinking the exact same thing

How come she didn't take off her contaminated gloves?
Thank you! Very informative.

She didn’t use the utility gloves to break down the instruments and the barriers
The unfortunate thing is that she never changed her gloves after emptying the room of trash and dirty instruments.
