And it did the job. right click on the file, go to show more options, then click on version history choose the time or the day the file was still working or could be opened, and then click Restore. Try and see if your file can be opened after that, keep in mind you will lose data that was saved after the time or date you chose. If that data is important, then don't try this.

In my case there was no file but eitherway i kept getting this message. I even re-installed M365 completely. Turned out that Kutools plugin was the cause. Disable and restart and it was gone. After that Kutools could be re-enabled again.
