Ah, the Saturn.. sorry: Moonlight yellow beauty. Thanks for posting! 👍Port door handles are 1971 specific on both 616 and Rx2 coupés. Same as the door cards. Same as blue C-post antelope badge. Color codes were YA Moonlight Yellow, YC Saturn Yellow, YG Flare Yellow.
@@nazmazosr1260 You're welcome! The 616 and Rx2 coupés were very similar. Really only the engine, radiator, gear and diff ratios, badges and tail lights were different. Even the brakes were identical, despite a 45 hp power difference! Trim differences between rx2 and 616 4-door sedans were bigger, though.
Hold on, there are more differences: The fuel tank on the Rx2 is 65 litres. It extends into the space where the 616 has its spare wheel well. So The Rx2 has the spare wheel on the boot floor and no spare wheel well. On the 616, the exhaust tail pipe exits further to the side to bypass the spare wheel well.
The 4cyl version of the RX2 was called a Capella in Australia. There were three versions of the RX2, series 1, series 1B and series 2. Series 1had rectangle headlights with the interior door lock knobs at the front of the doors, 1B had lock knobs at the rear of the door and series 2 had Quad round headlights.
Super rare car! In '1972 Mazda sold the "618" which was the same as this but with a slightly larger 1800cc engine. I think the piston versions might be rarer than the rotaries.
one of the cleanest old schoolers out there!! Luv it!
No doubt!
Very nice work! I will drive that any day.
Awesome RX2 Coupe! Such a gorgeous car, beautiful restoration!! Great Video❤️
It really is!
