The Best RV Campground Near Phoenix Arizona

Right up against the Superstition Mountains and the Superstition Wilderness is Lost Dutchman State Park. Located just 40 minutes outside Phoenix Arizona I couldn't imagine a better spot when visiting a major metropolitan area. Not too far from the city in case you want to enjoy Phoenix. And far enough away if you're looking for the Phoenix weather without the hustle and bustle. Plus look at that view! Great day hiking, great facilities and because it's a state park, inexpensive.

Great hike. Did that when I was young. All trails around the Superstition Mountains are awesome! There is an abandoned mine on the east side.
Come to the west side of Phoenix too. White tanks, saddle mountain, Estrella Mtn, and the vulture city ghost town are great to visit. There is an extinct volcano in my backyard too(Arlington Volcano) it’s an easy 1 mile hike.

Too bad you didn’t get to Flat Iron, but glad you didn’t attempt it in the rain! Although my family disagrees, I rate it harder than Pichaco!
