It might be hardened right now, be carfeful when take off coolers. ...And personally, I recommend to change Thermal paste every 1~3 yrs of use. I'm not sure there's any standard to applying thermal paste, so it is up to you. :)

Gtx970 here overclocked to get the same performance as a stock gtx980 (3pts difference in 3dmark)... For the 1st time i saw a video of a card 2 times slower than mine and i can say: you can keep your weak 1050ti sir! :)
