My experience after have been driving for Uber for some months. Uber is a good thing for passengers and a illusion for drivers. Uber have low cost cars and drivers to please passengers. It s hard to explain but you will understand after driving for them.
I think it depends on a lot of factors but you're right - for some drivers this is not a good fit, but for others it is.
I was in a terrible accident on may 1 I was injured seriously. I have 2 crushed discs in my neck and my breast implant was ripped from the impact so on leaking silicone in my body. My car was totaled. A uninsured, revoked driver's licenses and no tags jerk pulled in front of me as I was going 45 mph on my way to pick up a passenger. I have mind blowing black out headaches I cant sit or stand for to long I have some medical issues from this accident. I have gone through 3 lawyers and they say it's to hard to get uber to respond. I had all the insurance and thought it would be taken care of. My surgeon says my surgery will be 90 grand just for my neck and he will not do it. I'm so angry and I really need help. I have only myself and uber should be responsible and they're not. I need help dies anyone have any advice? Rgeyre suppose to pay me weekly also from the occupancy insurance I received 1200 in june and that's been it.
Here in Florida Lyft uses State Farm Insurance

If someone bums into you but you let them go cause there was no damaged and you let them go should you report it

Hey dear ! I am an Uber driver and I was in accident few days ago, so I need your assistance regarding this situation.
what do u do if you're in an accident with a rider in the car. are they expected to stay with you, or are they free to leave and call another uber ? are u still allowed to charge for the full ride ?
It's up to you/the pax. Personally, I would let them know they can wait while you exchange info and you'll drop them off at their destination. Or, you can end the ride and they can request a new Uber to take them to their destination (probably best if it's a bad accident, cops are called, or gonna take longer than 10-15 mins to get everything done).
You should also mention they can e-mail Uber and ask for a refund since you couldn't complete the trip - you should still get paid though :)

I've looked for the insurance info in the waybill when on a ride, while the passenger was in a store or something. I've not been able to find it. Maybe you can show video on exactly how to find the information?

On my waybill I have the top section information, my personal and car info below that, and nothing below that. Maybe it's a PA thing? There is no insurance info in my waybill. A friend of mine checked and said it use to be there but, it's not for him either.

HELP! I was in a head on collision while driving for uber, and now my personal insurance company is not going to cover me and revoke my insurance policy with them, I've paid full coverage with them for almost a year, and now this video is telling me uber won't pay for collision damage for my vehicle even tho I've been paying some money from each ride for my Uber insurance. uber should provide a rent car for a one week because if person says it is not their fault you probably have to go to court.
A very important topic that was not addressed is uninsured or underinsured motorists.
This situation is a game changer.
I had a person rear end me and then leave the scene of the accident so they wouldn’t get in trouble. How should I report this diffusion when I wasn’t at fault but the driver fled the scene before I could get any of their info. I filed a police report but I don’t have any other info on the driver the hit me. I had a passenger in my car at the time

What if you are leasing a car through Uber and you met all of Ubers required personal coverage, then got T boned, hospitalized and then denied coverage through personal insurance in Stage 1 or offline status? No passenger. Uber is hell to get through to. What happens to the lease car? Does Uber cover it?

also could you claim the accident on my own insurance for collision coverage as I have it on a lower deductible and it would be in place even if Uber was not. as in period 1 ?
If you get into an accident during Period 2/3, you would provide Uber's insurance info (which can be found on the waybill in the driver app) and they would cover you with a $1k collision deductible.
You obviously could claim the accident happened while without a passenger but I'm pretty sure this would be a felony crime.

Good stuff as always. It's also really important to keep a pen/pencil and a notebook with you as well for documentation purposes. It's also wise to get the information of your passengers if they happen to be in the car during the accident. If you weren't at fault they can help you out with testimonies.

Uber did not tell me I needed other insurance! They have all my insurance info and if it would be a problem they would tell me.
Again that's why its not a problem because I have State Farm, and that's why uber did not bother me about this.

@@Therideshareguy yes, the boy took off and he said he was ok but I called him back that they were damages to the car and he needed to see the ambulance. They did show up and checked up on him as well as they took a police report
Dont forget to ask local businesses for any video coverage of an accident you were involved in. I was able to get one form a gas station with no issues. These videos prove valuable when fighting an incorrect/false claim of negligence.

Ride-sharing companies are not providing a solid commercial insurance policy for drivers when you have to discuss in detail period 1 period 2 period 3 a driver is opening himself up for huge liability.. on the surface it seems as a Rideshare driver say he grosses $1,000 in a week he pays Uber $250 of that for using the app. If a driver opened up his own Rideshare company and had his own Rideshare commercial insurance policy he could get a commercial ride for hire policy for the $1,000 a month he's paying to Uber. Market your own Rideshare app with the existing clients you have and continue to market for more clients I don't see any reason to pay that 25% if you truly want to own your own business. I am just thinking out loud but what am I missing here? A simple application process to the TNC regulators is the only thing left to do.
about 4 weeks ago my car had a collision with another car while i had a passenger in the car... i stopped on the driveway to let out my passenger and then a car started reversing all the way down his driveway, i honked my horn for 3 whole seconds before he crashed the back of his car into the side of my car... i was driving a rental car and the rental company just let it go like a shopping trolley ding. i went into the police station and they said because there is no damage and no injury it doenst need to be reported... i went into uber and they had me fill out a report which was lke 4 freaking pages long. in my city if you dont fill out the report within 48 hours your account get deactivated...
What is considered a rideshare app by insurance companies? Does it involve solely transporting a person like Uber or lyft? Or does it extended to just carrying items like Amazon flex or doordash or any other delivery involving packadges, boxes, food, bags etc

Each state has its own set of liability laws. Fault and no-fault accidents.

So, Uber told me that the $1,000 deductible is something you have to pay regardless of who's at fault. Does this sound correct to you? With other car insurance companies the one who pays the deductible is the one who's at fault.
That doesn't sound right. If the other person is at fault and their insurance company admits fault, James Rivers (Uber's insurer) should go after them for the deductible. So you may have to pay the $1k originally but then the other person should have to pay.

It depends on the insurance company but in some cases you won't be able to get paid while out of rideshare work. You just admitted you backed into something accidentally, that’s your fault and you would have to be the best liar in the world to get that damage you caused covered by insurance to be fixed
Hey, I was recently involved in accident. I was currently offline on my lyft app. I called lyft the next day after I put in my claim with my insurance company. I had to send pictures of the damage, and lyft deactivated my account until I get my car fixed. A week later I got my car back, sent pictures and updated my inspection form. its been a few days already and no reply. I send 1-2 emails a day trying to get my account activated again, do you know more or less how long it takes for your account to get re-activated again through lyft"?
You should not have told them.
So give riders the Uber insurance in case they have a claim. What should you tell them if you are not able to complete the trip etc.? Request another Uber ride? or hold on until I exchange insurance and the we will complete the trip?
Yes and I'd probably tell them if they are in a hurry, to end the trip and request a new Uber?
They can also e-mail Uber for a refund of that trip most likely.

Has your car been repaired? If so, you can message Uber via the help section of the driver appand let them know and they'll re-activate you.

I received a email from uber to sign a petition to help keep uber in Marland. I believe has to do with fingerprint uber might be pulling out of Maryland if they require fingerprint.
I hope Marland don't require finger print because uber will disappear.His will affect the drivers and the Riders at the same time.
