Ayo I did the same exact thing. I started maining Shigungoid and have 12 reps so far since ocelotl released and I gotta say Shugoki feels like a counter against ocelotl.
I personally think that originally Ocelotl was going to be better but at the last moment the developers chickened out thinking that everyone would complain that the character was very strong and they ended up eliminating many things for the final product, something as simple as the whistle of death they eliminated the original sound from the trailer and they gave us a very standard whistle sound

They definitely should have implemented an attack for him that does bleed damage because it makes sense since his weapons are literally a club and a spear with sharp shards of volcanic glass in them
Such a shame about this hero I was expecting a kotal kahn esk hero absolutely brutal and animalistic ripping through his enemies and maybe even an execution where he offers blood to his god or even shaman and pk-esk gameplay maybe when he deals bleed he can jump at you for a bite similar to shaman but he gets something like an offensive stance for highlander for a period of time, or maybe he gets better with more blood offerings etc etc this character could’ve been SO cool but what I got was kotal kahn after shao kahn got him 😭

Don't get me wrong, I fully acknowledge the problems of lack of bleed and incomplete Prowler Stance, but it's still fun to put people through the blender that is his infinite chain.
He does have his moments
I agree here. To me, he's super fun with some missing potential. But fun regardless
Remove infinite chain, make it a 3 chain light with 400ms light midchain, and bleed light finishers add undodgable AND unblockable to hunter stance. You can only parry but it would be really easy to parry it for it not being feintable

Alright, so weird thing I discovered about the stance is that you can sorta dodge a guard break. It's really weird, and I've only done it a couple of times, but the stance puts you enough distance to stay away from their guard break, but you're still close enough for you to get a guard break after they miss theirs. THIS IS LITERALLY THE ONLY USE HAVE FOUND FOR IT 😂

If someone is used to guardbreaking after a bash or an unblockable of some kind, it can be a kind os punish without being vulnerable, like for example warden top heavy unblockable, you go for a light or any other attack because you know he is gonna faint to a gb, you can just go to prowlers stance to punish him... But still i guess if you do it way too soon the top heavy is gonna hit you lmaoo

Damn bro. I've been sober from For Honor for a little more than a year now. Really glad I've finally been able to quit, Pirate quite literally drove any and all enjoyment i might've still had for the game out the window.

Pirate is absolute dog 💩 now so might aswell pick the game back up. It’s in the best state it’s been in for a very very long time with the dodge attack changes and soon the bash changes should help too.

@@sandervanoirschot1284dodge attacks count as light parries so you get a heavy off them. Makes punishing dodge attackers more viable.

Personally medjay is the most boring hero ever, and tbh I like Ocelotl, yeah his move set is a bit boring and feels unfinished but everything else about him makes up for it, Aztec warrior is way cooler than a Chinese pirate and an Arab woman with a mace and a shield who does cartwheels, also something that wasn’t noted in the video is ocelotls fashion, it is awesome and there is a good few combinations you can do to make him stand out and look good even from low level and I like him more than any of the other outlanders

Yeah right this hero honestly sucks. We wait 6 months for a hero now and we get basic chains, unblockables and bashes like damn he has a whole stance for nothing. And im tired of people saying we should be happy with what we get, like come on just up your fucking standards for once. I also like the fact that you're one of the few to say what needs to be said for the game. Most of the FH content creators won't say anything to keep their partnership with Ubi like damn have some self respect my dudes...

Fr tho I’ve gotten at least nine reps in every character except Zhanhu and Highlander and Warlord is with out a doubt the most boring hero in my opinion, he’s really good but the funnest thing he can do is time undodgable heavy’s from his allblock. However I agree with pretty much everything you said about him not being a good antigank, his prowler stance being lame as hell, and the whole unga bunga play style.

@@snakebren thats bc the Aztecas have a lot of variation on their equipment and that kind of spear was not used as a proyectile, it was used for close combat this spear is called Huitzauhhqui and that "sword" is more like a Machete is a Macuahuitl and yes they sometimes threw those things, they were brutal in battle xd

they just need to make the bash unable to be feinted, make hsi back dodge more versatile and give ALL his heavies the mini grab mechanic. Idk something along the lines of being extremely hellish to fight in duels and ganks but to make up for it since he has literally no armor, make him have exactly 4 bars.
What I would change to make him less boring
Increase the distance that the Ocelotyl backsteps into hunter stance, then give him a quick short ranged undodgeable light attack out of hunter stance with his already existing leaping heavy attack and maybe even allow him to use his neutral bash from the stance. And finally I think he should have Valkyrie style shoulder pin deflects dealing bleed damage. The hunting stance giving him some 1v1 utility and the shoulder pin giving him a fun counter attack and making his trashy dodge attack more worth using I think this would make him infinitely more fun to fight and play than he is now.

The reason for it is because the best way to interupt most of his chains besides parrying is dodging a bash or light and interrupting with a bash or your own attack if he doesnt throw a zone to trade. In a meta where nearly every single hero has a dodge attack and every one loves spamming them I think all good heros deserve some counter play to punish dodge spammers. Theres a reason why they made the change for most dodge attacks to give a light parry now so spamming is a bigger risk.

You prob hate standing still because your either an Orochi or Shinobi main living off of dodge attack spam. That is the peak definition of boring. And honestly theres nothing more satisfying than slamming a predictable dodge attack spammers face with an undodgeable. I think people need to learn to play the game standing still and make reads instead of being brain dead spammers mashing your own attack button to ignore the enemies attacks.

I think when u parry for knockdown u can get 2 heavys if dont change ur guard direction and attack right away, for gb knockdowns u forsure get 2 heavys but dont cgange guard direction

The only other niche application I've found for the Prowler's Stance is using the Snare to gap-close from across the map. The lunge on it is pretty incredible, making it a solid gank move.
He WAS fun in the tester period (can’t remember what it’s called) but now I have as much fun with him as pirate who is my lowest rep at 8

What does For Honor have against shields? They want to fill both hands so instead of a shield they come up with this broken half spear. It just looks dumb. Like Kyoshin fighting with his sheathe and medjay breaking his two handed weapon in half. Shields are a world of fun and customization capability but nah
one thing they need to add to the game is selective voice lines, i want to be able to turn off a single heroes voice lines but not everyones, i get so sick of hearing certain characters like female tiandi and ocelotl's ah willy

Ganking ruins the game, it's the equivalent of lightspamming but harder to deal with, it's no fun fighting 4 people alone same when your team is stealing your kill or ganking one guy in a 1v1 oriented game, it's not fun and pointless to treat it like a cod game when it's a competitive 1 on 1 oriented game plus it's called for honor for a reason and called revenge for a reason and that's why ganking isn't viable bc you aren't supposed to do it, it's 4 v 4 not 4 v 1 or 3 v 1, same with brawl matches, most good players don't gank, most gankers are nothing without their team so like why are you even playing the game
i've been saying this the entire time, hope that he will be a bleed centric hero, given that his weapons, are purely made for ripping and tearing it would've made more sense, than gladiator bleeds, or shit even any other bleed hero. basically that is what they did in the aztec era... this is not rocket science. I dont understand...
Can’t lie I wish his stance had more viability in 1v1 situations, other than that he’s pretty good, I also wish he could inflict bleed landing the second bash, it seems like it should, but doesn’t, it would make so much sense for him to inflict bleed in some manner
I completely disagree with the last half a dozen heroes having bad move sets. Afeeea's is insane, pirate sure, medjay has the double stance, and then also varangian may be more basic but she is still fun and entertaining to use.
I just got ocelotl and I have got to say I am extremely disappointed in how lackluster his move set is. It makes me wish there was a refund steel button.

You can flow that back step with a zone that has hyper armor, and you can cancel it easily, but yeah, he's boring to play
Ocelotl isn't a bad character or a boring character, his stance isn't used for 1v1 situations and his bash isn't used for damage
He is probably one of the worst characters in 1v1's yes, but his stance is the most useful ganking tool other than Medjay's bash. It puts you in so much hitstun that a heavy is allows gonna connect. The bash is used for pressure and forcing a dodge so you can throw them on the ground and allow your team mate to secure a hit. He also has NO anti-gank as he's called a 'ganker.'
So in other words, garbage.
You just said he isn't a bad character then listed multiple reasons why he's bad... You're the reason the game is in such a sorry state.

i've used the prowling stance to dodge pirates bullet, it's pretty good
See after the patch I still end up killing people with the jaguar's tail. also I love ocelotl but i feel utterly useless playing as him like it feels like his hidden stance is more of a nuisance during fights because id accidentally do it and i'd get hit when im trying to block or parry but thats cause i never really played with hidden stances before maybe i should fix my settings even though i got him in rep 12 already. I also think he deserves bleed effect for the pounce and 2nd bash because they're clearly bleeding causing things. also slow down his light a bit but speed his heavy up because it feels like his heavy is slower than shugoki's and not slow as in hard to parry because its unpredictable but slow as in predictable and easily punishable. his lights i do agree with lots of players when they say its too fast
It's a shame cos he's not a million miles away from being a good hero. He just needs a bit more attention
I dipped out after Yoshi came out.
Yoshi was still better than the Apollyon Cosplayer and Gryffindor, but felt like the right time cus of the botched wave of reworks, Shugo, Ara, Glad and Shinobi all felt way less original and much more boring after their Reworks.
This just reaffirms my believe that FH is Quantity over Quality, and the more bloated the roster, the less unique any Hero becomes.

Most new heroes are ass in my opinion. Afeera and Pirate slightly pass the bar, but mummyguard and catman are boring infinite chain spam crapshots. Medjay is just a reskinned berserker, when in his dual axe mode (the weapon also sucks balls, I was hoping for a khopesh, not some fantasy split stick) and ocelotl is just "Press buttons" the character. infinite chains on everything, annoyingly wide hitboxes, and the constant willy in my ears...

The aztec language is called Nahuált. And they called themselves Mexicas not Aztec. Their language did not have a writing version of it, their language used petroglyphs. So it would be pictures for the morons to understand it better 😅
For honor has been suffering from copying and pasting movesets since the wulin. The last interesting and original mechanic to be added to the game was bulwark flip. Been saying this way before they added Warden 2.0 but every mechanic has just been a reimagined copy and paste

Ocelotl is largely considered one of the strongest duelists in the game, and a solid character in 4s.

still better than the new one "press fullblock to fullblock"... meanwhile kensei is unplayable, medjay is unplayable, valkyrie is unplayable, centurion is unplayable, pk is unplayable, lawbringer is unplayable, warlord is unplayable... in a game where optimal characters have unblockables, undodgeables, fullblock, s on dodges, buffed horizontal hitboxes and teleport tracking, there's still all those characters missing all of those features playing like a 7 year old character.

The leaping heavy is good for ganking. It's only purpose is to use it while they're acting or can't party/block and it holds them still.
