Today is the release day of my Toyota Veloz, my first ever car. My original plan was to get Rush but after checking Veloz, my decision changed real quick. So excited to drive my own car. Thank you Lord 🙏🏻
Congratulations! However Iwas very concerned and disappointed with the absence of front defogger/front air vent of the Veloz. This lacking safety feature must be raised with Toyota. I got the Veloz V because of the TSS safety features and having a fogged up windshield whilst driving without front dash airvents negates this safety requirement.

@@danfrancesborbe473 Smooth driving sa veloz, nasa 9.3km/L ang average fuel consumption, city driving ako at madalas nakakalimutan ko i-ON yung eco mode
in Indonesia, driving this in 120-160 KMH is still stable. In my opinion it is still fine if you have 7 passengers and take the car for like road trips and stuff, but I would not recommend you to go places that have steep roads like hills and mountains remembering this is a FWD CVT. This car is made for in cities. I would recommend a RWD A/T if you want to do that, but if in a city, I’d say that this car is a very fuel efficient and a very light steering wheel car, good for car beginners as well, in Indonesia, our highest trim on the Veloz has 360 view as well which is very nice.

As an owner of the final Veloz variant of Avanza, I would say that the jump in price is all worth it as far as what I have seen in this very cool review.
The wireless charger is great but I think wireless apple carplay/ android auto should come along with it coz if not then what even is the point since you’ll plug your phone in anyway?

Just an input. I actually tried using Avanza E from Baguio to Mangatarem back to Baguio. I have 8 passengers that time. I still managed to floor it and pass alot cars too. Going back to Baguio late night, I timed my driving from Camp 1 toll gate to Camp 6 toll gate - it only took me 30 minutes ofcourse with no traffic. I'd say it is impressive. Its not even the 1.5 engine.
Last time I'd checked a car review was in 2018 before I got my Jimny. Saw Veloz the other day at a mall and I fell in love! We will see if I'm still in love by end of the year!
I discovered Caco during my search for a compact car (a brio). i knew it was him from a radio station and a former sportscaster from a basketball program back in the day. I stand corrected. All the best Caco and Jack.
As alaways, Caco's presentation is always a pleasure to watch... Though the frequent stuttering & hanging of thoughts could be reduce a bit, but can't blame the guy, age & pressure could have catch on him on a back to back HRV review with Veloz, might have taken a toll at him... a chillax vacation could work.
I have it and we're very happy with it. Couldn't wait for your review anymore Caco hehe. Admittedly not gonna even try Baguio with this though. The TSS is a must, blindspot monitor and lane departure pushing me to be a safer driver 😅, and the 360 camera is great for those tight spaces. The wireless charger doesn't work very well but maybe it's my phone. Will try with other people's phone soon. But Caco/team forgot to show the sofa/lounge mode which was a cool thing in Avanza too.
Sir Caco, gusto ko talaga mag ask, kanino po yung 1st gen Vitara sa likod? Palagi ko din siya makikita sa previous vids niyo, ang gandaaaa! Love the impressions Sir! More power! 🙌🏻
I've rewatched this new Veloz & Avanza again just to confirm something, is it true that both the new Veloz & Avanza don't have the features of changing the AC direction towards the leg & defogger? Nice review as always Sir Caco 👍

I got the Veloz V because of the TSS safety features and having a fogged up windshield whilst driving without front dash airvents negates this safety requirement. Paging Toyota Motors, can we expect a recall/upgrade very soon?
Been watching this video over and over for a month now until we finally got our own. Thanks AutoDeal team and Sir Caco, getting the essentials down with just the right pizzazz and humor made decision-making easier and fun. Onga pala, what's the background music's title, maaari ba malaman?
Nahirapan ako pumile between this vehicle (Veloz) and Raize last December. In the end i chosen Raize because it is more compact but bigger than normal Sedan. Pero pag nakakakita ako ng Veloz sa daan napapa head turn talaga ako sa design nito
A thing or two that I do not like about the design of the Avanza/Veloz is that front end. It's too-nose-heavy. It feels like the car will just tumble forward in heavy braking. The front end also makes the wheels look tiny. But overall, I was surprised with how impressive this car looks in person. The aging Mobilio/BR-V should be redesigned ASAP to retain their foothold on the market.
Hi Caco, nice video, compared to last time, the panning and camera movement is noticeable already, but it needs more practice and positioning of the camera to show the things on the vehicle. For example : the part were you mention about the ingress and egress on the rear door, the camera is on the wrong side of the door, which we can't see what your trying to show us. Also when your talking about all the cupholders, you can see it but not your viewers. When you showed the engine bay, the camera is just static, no close up angle.
This is just my assumption, but based on the fact that this is a first impressions video, not a full review, and with the unscripted stuff kept in, they may not have had enough time to shoot more videos or takes, i.e. maybe due to other media/press teams waiting for their turn with the car.
Caco could definitely create his own youtube channel and become more successful than he is now, if he wants to. To me he's like Linus Sebastian from Linus Tech Tips but for cars instead of Tech Tips.
@@NoVisionGuy Yes he does own LTT, but back then, Linus worked for a company called NCIX, where he was one of the "youtube salesmans" for NCIX, it was even called "NCIX Tech Tips" or "Linus Tech Tips".
I just bought a Rush last March and now feel a tinge of regret now that this Veloz is out, even though it’s a bit outside my budget anyway. It’s a slightly facelifted exterior with an upgraded interior compared to the Avanza, yet it manages to still have the look and feel of its higher price range. Good job, Toyota.
I am currently searching for the right car to replace my 2015 Fortuner. You would be a good car salesman, if you are not one already. I find your rapport with your cameraman funny, I just hope you're not really scolding him.
I always dreamed of not using the seats in the back rather just flatten them and put a small airbed of some sort and relax there while travelling long distances
It would be interesting to see when going up a spiral ramp of a parking lot, how a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated front wheel drive fully loaded Avanza/ Veloz would haul its load.
I saw a vid with the mitsu xpander recently going up in a rainy mountainous road with a hard curve,, even in stock tires the xpander slipped like crazy and when he stop he slides down. safety? doubt.
its too underpowered for the size of the car. But ithink its enough(notsure). it would be good if they fitted the 2.5 cvt of the camry. The 2.5 of the camry is more than enought to pull this veloz.
@@jowieonit Xpander has 4A/T which is its weakest point. Shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear would need 3,000 rpm. Has difficulty going uphill even within QC area
I think you have to look at your expectations of what a full load of this is first. Available specs online shows that the capacity of this thing is approx 500kg. Seven adults at 80kg each is 560kg. Meaning the specs already says 7 adults is overcapacity. This is more 4 adults + 3 elementary kids type of 7 seater.
@@chanchan05 I agree with this point. In this segment of vehicles, my view is that the 3rd row seats should be intended for those emergency/unexpected passengers only. So they're only used on rare occasions. Come to think of it, I think that's the case most of the time.
I was very concerned and disappointed with the absence of front defogger/front air vent of the Veloz. This lacking safety feature must be raised with Toyota. I got the Veloz V because of the TSS safety features and having a fogged up windshield whilst driving without front dash airvents negates this safety requirement.
Test drove this and the HRV on the same day because I was really confused about which to choose between the 2. However, I unexpectedly drove over a nasty pothole near SnR Cebu and was immediately turned off! In Bisaya, nikagay gyud. My 2017 Innova G AT is better pa. In any case, reserved an HRV the same day. But buying in Manila kay mas barato by 25k than Cebu prices.
With the chinese cars rolling out with cheaper price but an exterior, interior, tech and safety features you can find on higher and more expensive cars makes me kinda want japanese carmakers to step up on their game. I mean they are still amazing but with geely MG and cherry designs and price they'll dominate the market soon.
@@ReyFider Maaybe back in the day. But, right now, their EV's are dominating the auto industry recently thanks to their blade battery and LFP which are far more reliable than li-on
I've own the car for several months. It's pretty comfortable and 2nd row feels more spacious than innova if you don't put someone in the middle. The CVT is WEIRD. I'm used to honda's CVT which is way smoother in its operation. It likes to rev up to 3,000 rpm all of sudden when you try to push the pedal a bit more and there's a weird engine braking when you are close to stopping. Also, there's a noticeable clunk and stutter when you go from drive to neutral There's a big controversy surrounding this car in Indonesia, tested with 7 passengers, it wasn't able to start climbing a 15 degree-ish slop from stationary. Not completely sure if it's because of CVT or FWD nature of the car
It's the car. Look at the specs (available on the net) gross wt-curb weight shows It's only got a capacity of approx. 500kg. If you put 7 adults on there with a weight of 80kg each, you're at 560kg, so you're overcapacity. IMO this should only be used as a 4-5 seater and not for 7.
Raize also have the same problem with clunk and stutter when moving the gear from D to N, theres also another clunk problem when the car stopped and set to P first before handbrake, i think this is because toyota still put a small planetary gear in the CVT
This is why I retracted my reservation for Veloz. under power vehicle (106ps) and low torque (138Nm). I’m thankful that toyota missed their delivery date of vehicle. I still got time to retract my reservation. 😅
@@abelardolaus2969 I was waiting for this car yeah the specs and Caco's review made me think twice. You think I should go for the new Honda HRV instead???
I'm o so pretty excited,.To this guy on the road! And if it's break lights really do stretch out on both sides of the car or,,..If it's only halfway because if it's only an inch and not that full stretch then that would be downer. For me 😔
Why every toyota car exported from Indonesia to abroad always doesn't have "Adaptive curse control" in Indonesia Toyota Veloz and Raize have Adaptive curse control, for example the Toyota Raize which is exported to Mexico and Vietnam there is no TSS "Toyota Savety Sense" and There is no “Adaptive Curse Control” Now Veloz in the Philippines does not have “Adaptive Curse Control” very confusing
Stuff is impressive but apart from the TSS, the rest are really what you'd call as "extras". Was expecting to find more of the "necessities" like cruise control, one feature very useful for long drives which pinoys love. Ground clearance is, well, not sure if there's such thing in this, and second row seats don't fold completely flat as there is still a slight bump once the 2nd and 3rd row seats are folded(already saw one in the flesh) so loading shit at the back won't be as flawless and easy as one might expect. Perhaps the Veloz is good for the city dwellers who'd probably only take the family or barkada in the city or in not so distant provinces where roads are 100% paved, or concrete at least. But doesn't seem to be as versatile as you'd expect for its price point especially if you're comparing it to the closest rival.
@@ReyFider can't remember the Xpander or Ertiga to be Chinese tho. Also can't remember the ZS and Coolray had 7-seaters as well to be a competitor of the Veloz. The Okavango is an Innova competitor so I wouldn't also think you're referring to that vehicle 😁

Another Great Video!
You should do a segment like “top 3 not so peachy” and “top 3 pechiest” about every car you review hahaha lol
One of the coolest, or the coolest car review person there is.
I was very concerned and disappointed with the absence of front defogger/front air vent of the Veloz. This lacking safety feature must be raised with Toyota. I got the Veloz V because of the TSS safety features and having a fogged up windshield whilst driving without front dash airvents negates this safety requirement.
Is this true to all Toyota models?
Just means that ur aircon's temp is higher than outside. Just lower the temp to 18°C then increase accdly
Lol its because u just didnt on the aircon thats why it became foggy 🤡🤡🤡
Test drove this and the HRV on the same day because I was really confused about which to choose between the 2. However, I unexpectedly drove over a nasty pothole near SnR Cebu and was immediately turned off! In Bisaya, nikagay gyud. My 2017 Innova G AT is better pa. In any case, reserved an HRV the same day. But buying in Manila kay mas barato by 25k than Cebu prices.
It didn’t go fairly well pass the pothole? Suspension is not good?
@@gxs8p578 it was just jarring. I thought that my 2017 Innova G fares better over potholes than the Veloz. That sealed the deal for me.
Hope you would also review the new Haima 7x, it will compete with the Veloz and Xpander.
UPHILL test please fully loaded standing start 17 degree slope
With the chinese cars rolling out with cheaper price but an exterior, interior, tech and safety features you can find on higher and more expensive cars makes me kinda want japanese carmakers to step up on their game. I mean they are still amazing but with geely MG and cherry designs and price they'll dominate the market soon.
One thing I learned is never trust Chinese cars for reliability. Pag tumirik yan, might as well iwan mo na lang sa kalsada. It's worth as trash na.
@@ReyFider Maaybe back in the day. But, right now, their EV's are dominating the auto industry recently thanks to their blade battery and LFP which are far more reliable than li-on
@@jaybeebartolome8386 Okay. But I just don't see a Chinese brand car running at its optimal level once it reaches 100k mileage.
Ilang pairs of Onitsukas kaya meron is Caco? Great video insights as always!
We are so 3 months early. We bought our Avanza last December. Smh but I did not actually regret it. I regret we didnt gone Innova
Also, there's a noticeable clunk and stutter when you go from drive to neutral
There's a big controversy surrounding this car in Indonesia, tested with 7 passengers, it wasn't able to start climbing a 15 degree-ish slop from stationary.
For me 😔
It seems VELOZ will replace the RUSH eventually.
Great review as always. But those shoes are lit! 🔥
Greetings from Malaysia, waiting for the Perodua Alza to be launched here soon. Nice review.
When do you think are we going to start seeing EVs in the market?
I'm contemplating between the rush and the xpander cross thank you for this review.
I pray for this car because we really need this in our ministry in the church 🙏🙏🙏
do y'all know where to get them eyeglasses? ganda ng specs ni Sir!
Just noticed that you do not offer payment via paymaya. Please look into this mode of payment as well.
Different segment but price range is not so far, may i know anyone's thought on getting hrv base or top of line hrv? Thank you whats your pick?
I think it may not be as powerful as an Innova but the tech inside seems to be better and it definitely looks better imo.
Why does the Veloz get leather seats and the Hilux Conquest doesnt?
why dont you try with seven people and going to baguio so you can help us decide?
Very satisfying review. Great, keep it up please.
The Zenix has adaptive cruise control and all other sensing. It comes from Indonesia.
What rival are you referring to? The China cars?
2023 Xpander FTW
hyundai stargazer or custo is coming
@@ReyFider can't remember the Xpander or Ertiga to be Chinese tho.
Also can't remember the ZS and Coolray had 7-seaters as well to be a competitor of the Veloz.
The Okavango is an Innova competitor so I wouldn't also think you're referring to that vehicle 😁
in indonesia we actually have cruise control feature and Automatic emergency brake on the highest trim, I’m not sure about in your country.
I am actually leaning towards Veloz now instead of the original plan which is the Toyota Rush GR thanks to this video!
