Nice review man thanks for the info. This is really a viable option to the Avanza model. The tech features of the V are close to those of the Chinese brands and with the badge of Toyota i think this is a no brainer for those wanting brand awareness and parts availability.
Toyota have the Avanza , and they just recently introduce the Toyota Raize here in the Philippines and now this Toyota Veloz? What's happening with Toyota?
I really hate the touch sensitive buttons on the touch scree. Other than that i believe Toyota outdid itself with the dashboard design. Really sleek and neat!
Why they didn't add adaptive cruise control?its the only thing left to enjoy this car.Im also doubting the uphill capability of this car when fully loaded with 7 passengers and things.
I think Toyota was thinking more along the lines of, does the Veloz absolutely need adaptive cruise control. If adding that feature would mean putting it too close to a Toyota Innova, while 99% of people won't use it since they're in the city, then I guess that's the trade off :-) also 7 people shouldn't be a problem. The average size and weight of Filipinos is way lower than mine and that's no problem for the engine. Thanks for your comment!
good review, i've been watching videos from zigwheels for a while now and i like how the cars are presented. it's just getting annoying how he is always asking for gadget sponsorships, like asking for iphone sponsorship in past videos, and then this time he's asking for a tablet sponsor. it's kinda off really.
for idiots who are asking for horsepower, why not try to check out the non VNT fortuners, hilux and innova, they are heavier yes but they only produce 101 or 102 horsepower. remember this isnt a race car to begin with, also look at the competition, Xpander and Ertiga has the same figures
Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands - all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.” Luke 6:38 GNBUK .
I hope Toyota will offer either a bigger displacement engine (such as the 1.8 of the Corolla Cross) or a turbocharged engine for the Avanza and Veloz. Other competitors have turbo engines: Geely Okavango, Maxus G50, GAC GN6.
@@spacegaming7015 @SPACE GAMING since it looks like you know so much, would you kindly explain how these chinese brands (which owns lotus, volkswagen and dishes out parts to mercedes) and were all founded 80s or below would take months just to fix it
@@spacegaming7015 - I don't see anything wrong with wishing that a bigger engine displacement or turbo would be available for the Veloz since the current engine is really under-powered.
Sir Roy, ,are you aware of the actual height of veloz 2022? Is it true that the height of the car is 1700mm(5'7") as advertised? Sinubukan nyo na bang sukatin? I was curious seeing you side by side with the veloz. just wished to be clarified, thanx.
Here is a very important issue that needs to addressed by TMPI. I was very concerned and disappointed with the absence of front defogger/front air vent of the Veloz. This lacking safety feature must be raised with Toyota. I got the Veloz V because of the TSS safety features and having a fogged up windshield whilst driving without front dash airvents negates this safety requirement. Paging Toyota Motors, can we expect a recall/upgrade very soon?
Doubtfully. Philippine's models are generally always lacking behind the available models in neighboring countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, etc). If they don't have front defogger, chances are Philippines won't have it either. Just put anti-fog on your windshield.
boss, Veloz ba is the direct competitor for the HRV? before kc CHR ung katapat ng HRV... but based on the looks and pricing... HRV and Veloz ang magkatapat....
Sana dinagdagan nlang nila ng tech & features ang Avanza. Kaysa naglabas na nman sila ng ibang model eh halos parehas lang itsura at horse power. Parang Avanza na naka makeup ang Veloz.
I wouldn't go that far though especially with the RAV4's hybrid powertrain! But yes, if I were on a tight budget, I won't be able to get a RAV4 but will be very happy with the Veloz!
"Veloz" has actually been a variant of Avanza for quite a long time now in Indonesia. Top of the line Avanza variant in another countries would be, for example, "Avanza G" or "Avanza S" but in Indonesia it was "Avanza Veloz". So it's pretty unsurprising that it's now released as a Veloz. Cause that's what it has always been, the highest spec Avanza. Also "GR-S", if I'm not mistaken, are only for cars that have been developed/modified by the Toyota GR team. Similar to TRD. For example, the Vios G is actually the highest variant of Vios. The Vios GR-S is a different Vios that has been modded by the Toyota GR team.
looks like this is TMP-controlled "review", pare-pareho ng location with other "car reviewers". for sure di nila ipapa-test yan sa incline na puno ang laman. pa-try man, 2 pax lang sakay
Had a 2011 Avanza, 4 speed auto. It was able to make it just fine again and again with 7 passengers to the top of Genting Highlands (a hill in Malaysia). The road has 20% - 23% inclines. Last year I drove a BRV up that same hill. To say it made it fine is an understatement, it did more than just fine. It was fun. I've also taken a 2018 Vios up there last year and this year too. Once again, made it up there more than fine. I'm quite certain the Avanza will do fine for a majority of roads . On that note, it's a car made for daily city commute soooo....don't blame the car if you intend to use it in situations it's not exactly designed for. This is kind of like getting angry that the Camry can't off-road.

Toyota Revo is powered by a 1.8L and a 2.0L gasoline engine and a 2.4L diesel engine. Its transmission is a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm (104 in). The 1.8L engine has a power of 94 hp at 5,000 rpm and 155 Nm at 3,300 rpm. Its more powerful than a toyota revo that had a heavier body and sits more occupants and i see a lot of those climbing baguio during the days. Its adequate output for its purpose. If not enough, go for the innova.
