Your wedding will be so incredibly special, I was constantly in awe of everyone from my husband and I's side of all walks of life being in the same room together- truly one of the best days of my life. The bit abt being messy got me. I am painfully aware of how messy I am but if either of my roommates say ANYTHING even tho it has never once been in a mean way I think about it nonstop for like weeks. But I’m also not going to all of the sudden not be messy it’s j never happening
I have this problem but the last 3 years ive gotten better every single day, and now im like borderline not messy anymore, just from being self aware for a while.
I too love when Christmas trees look human. They’re supposed to be memories and a celebration of the year’s end.

(I am not at all trying to diagnose over the internet:) I believe you have veryyyyy much high functioning adhd vibes with the struggling with time management and your space- because I am THE worsttt at that and that’s what people know me for. With Cody I think people expect men to be all over the place but Cody is really good at staying on top of his schedule, so even though y’all are probably equals in that sense, it may socially seem like he’s more on top of things (even if it’s not the case.) That is completely introspection tho on my part

As soon as I hear a child, especially a toddler, start saying “do you remember when…” I’m instantly tuned out to autopilot, because I know it’s about to be some convoluted nonsense child-memory 😂
I’ve had cats my entire life, and my family has put littler boxes in our most unused rooms because their shit is pungent af. My dad would cut little triangles in the bottom of the doors so they could get in!

I wouldn’t think of you as messy - I mean ur a teacher so I would expect you to be more organized. I think Cody is just more comfortable with trying new things which may translate as more productive. IMO it’s gonna result in high blood pressure down the line so I wouldn’t worry too much ab it. Also men run on energy that resets daily and women run on energy that resets monthly so just don’t compare girl! You have many good qualities ab urself .
Love your podcast! I didn’t really like the season finale of White Lotus either. They didn’t tie up a lot of the story lines!

OK, so even though I got married EONS ago (1997), I wanted to tell you about the AFTER part, the part NOBODY tells you about... after the wedding,,, after the honeymoon... after ALL the showers and people making you the center of attention ALL THE TIME! NOBODY talks about this and, definitely, NOBODY warned me about this. I'm hoping and praying things have changed! I'm NOT trying to be Debbie Downer or anything, just sharing MY experience... this doesn't mean it'll be YOIR experience... MMMMKKKKAY? A few weeks after everything was over, I went through a kind of depression, a post-wedding depression, if you will! It was SO strange to go from you being the center of attention to literally NO phone calls from friends, family, venues, florists, photographers, etc., calling you constantly to, all of a sudden, your phone NOT ringing! NOBODY tells you about this and it really needs to be talked about. If you do go to therapy, talk about it with them. Have them give you tools and ideas on how to deal with the after effects. In my opinion, I could be wrong, it's similar to the post-baby blues, postpartum depression... right? I'm sorry for bringing this up before your wedding, but I want you to be prepared for anything. This may NOT happen to you & I hope it doesn't! I've had 2 children and I didn't get postpartum depression... but I was prepared for it & was SO happy when it didn't happen! I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your wedding... I KNOW it will be absolutely beautiful. I've enjoyed seeing the process through your eyes and remembering how excited I was during these times. My wedding & reception was AMAZING and me and my ex (yup, we're divorced but still great friends w/ 2 amazing daughters) STILL say it was the best reception we've ever been to!! LOL! Good luck with everything you crazy kids!! 😉
