Love your channel! I just subscribed. I moved to Pacific Heights 6 months ago from Pasadena in SoCal! I love the weather, diversity, rich culture, and lively vibe in SF. Of course, the cost of living and parking are a pain. Your channel gave me so much information especially for those who just became San Franciscans. 😆 I really appreciate all the compilations and the valuable time you put into it.😆
For the most part, I enjoyed living in the Inner Sunset near 9th and Irving 2018-2022. It's got a great balance of everything. It's walkable and full of great restaurants and cute shops, but doesn't feel too hipstery or overly trendy; a few bars but no crazy clubs or huge venues, but super close to a hub of GG Park activity, I had a membership at the Academy of Science and could get there (+Music Concourse, deYoung, Japanese Tea Garden, etc) in 10 minutes on foot. Its walkability fosters community. I had a barber, got hookups from the Korean BBQ guy next door. At the weekly Farmers Market I had a specific mushroom lady, an empanada guy, a German pastry baker. Getting downtown only takes 20-30 minutes on the N Judah. The weather is much cooler than downtown but warmer and less foggy than the outer avenues. The only issues were finding secure parking for visitors, train noise/traffic.
Love it!! I went to the Tea Garden for the first time this year and loved it. Dont know how I’d missed it for so long living here. Where did you move after leaving sunset?
My favorite walk was from the Sourdough Vendor in front of Alioto's to Ghirardelli Square along the waterfront. There was the Canned Pearl shop and the Lightning Painter along the way. The private Rickshaw drivers were cool to watch.
