Honestly think they have got a strong general package, making the car be long term viable on a track like the nbr24h has helped alot, just having usability and driveability goes a long way in this race, the modularity and ease of use, oreca being rather experienced at all this, did feel the rear wing was quite thin and lacking in endplate size though as a whole, obviously bop could have been favourable, but it wasn't as if it dropped the rest like they weren't even there, they have drivers competing at incredible level and everything so, and this race is just like no other, there's so many things that go into it that saying it's mostly bop would be a bit extreme.

I feel like there's likely an obvious answer, but i just don't get how there can be cars that can have an advantage despite BOP. Can someone please clarify?? Is it just as it was explained in this video about having a package that's suitable for all race conditions?
Well the organzizers obviously try to make all of the cars as equal in performance as possible but that's not always doable. First of all manufacturers like to sandbag before big races, so they drive slow on purpose in sessions or races prior to the event they want to win so the organizer gives them a bit of help and suddenly they are faster than everyone else on race day. There are also other factors which make the BoP process pretty hard such as the fact that cars change over a stint. While some cars are good with full fuel tanks, some get faster over a stint or are better with tyres, it is hard to include that into the BoP though since they can only really rely on Qualifying pace. Turbo cars for example also get quicker during the night hours when the air gets cooler but I haven't heard of any racing series taking that specifically into account, especially since the night time is rather short and in the middle, the non decisive stages, of the race.
It has not been made by Ferrari. The aerodynamic has been done by Dallara. The mechanical side has been made by Oreca. I know. I worked on it at Oreca.

Yes BoP is a good point. Ferrari might have sandbagged and BoP might be too gentle with this new GT3 car. But we have to remember that the Porsche 992 GT3R is new as well.
@@BSport320 The GT3 class has made such strides in speed in the last few years, so the speed difference really becomes a problem. The problem with the increased interest in the race (also in crowds and social media) is that the competetion will become stronger and teams will have to get more professional and have to spend more money, which will increase the gap to the smaller cars and teams even more. At this point, having such a huge speed difference becomes a liability and I think the organisers need to address this. I think the introduction of a minimum lap time for safaty will only be a matter of time, and it will destroy a bit of the grassroots DIY spirit of the event. I think this is inevitable though...
There was 0 semblance of a fight up front. After the Abt Lamborghini puncture, the Frikadelli Ferrari took the lead and wasn’t threatened for the entire remainder of the race, with enough pace and gap to absorb the time loss from their own puncture and late damper failure and still dominate. I love the N24 but they messed up this BOP this time around.
What a race and that distance record will stand for some time. The car itself is not that great looking in my eyes. It looks retro in a bad way or maybe just generic.
with the bop that Ferraris always get in the imsa its impossible to do better. Its pretty obvious that the Corvettes get 90% of the time favourable bop.
8 months after ,and with a less punishing BOP ,the Ferrari 296 gt3 wins Rolex 24Daytona in GTDpro class and place second, third and fourth in GTD class; so yeah no good in IMSA.
BOP Stunk big time. GT3 racing isn't about making a "FAST" car it's about making a drive-able one that is light on its tyres and then sandbagging so that the organizers give you a favourable BOP for the race. Sandbagging is almost impossible in a series like GTWS because of how many teams are running each model of car makes it basically impossible for manufacturers to co-ordinate a sandbag attempt as the organizers will be looking at ALL [in this case] Ferraris not just one or two teams as well as the AM teams and not just the PRO ones. However in the N24 there was only 3 Ferrari's and one of those cars was no-where near as competitive anyway. They absolutely drove slowly during the practice and qualifying to get a favourable BOP. Best laps were 2+seconds better than anyone else. Their best lap during the race was only half a second off the POLE time! And the only other car that got below 8:10 was the other Ferrari so it's not some random magic laps the winning car got. The winning car had a puncture lost 20+seconds and was back ahead of everyone after 2 pit stops. As I said, the BOP stunk and the organizers got well and truly scammed.
@@petersafwat8228 Wasnt enough though. The 296 was a rocket down the straights, almost impossible for any other car to overtake. There was one instance where Estre was able to go by the #20 after side drafting it, but the next lap he got overtaken again. I'd say Ferrari had too much power. Audi and Porsche needed more power and higher wing angle to limit top speed. With all the BoP talk, I'm super happy Frikadelli won. Perfect job all around from the team and drivers, all without factory support. A real privateer won against big factories which makes this win even more epic.
2 seconds Fastest lap advantage on an 8 min+ laptime is nothing. It's comparable to .350 of a second on a normal 1 and a half minute track. Also Pole lap is set by regulations on a full tank of fuel, so cars were much heavier on Qualy day, comparing the two is disingenuos at best. Frikadelli were faster, better, more reliable. They won. Stop crying
Always this BoP whining ... Fastest BMW out. Fastest Audi out. Fastest Porsche out. Fastest Lamborghini with two tyre failures. Yeah, if the others hadn't crashed as much, hadn't had bad luck with tyres, hadn't messed up their qualifying (#98 BMW), that win wouldn't have looked nearly as "easy" (about a minute at the end of 24h...).
@@Sp4mMe Maybe you should learn what BOP even is. The incidents from the others didn't ensure the Ferrari's win, the BOP did. It was Frikadelli's to lose and that's that. Two of the 3 Ferrari's were under 8mins 10 and no other car was. It's BOP gamesmanship at its peak

no, it's not. Othjerwise they wouldn't need bop. There's a reason Fricadelli dropped the porsche, after having threatened not to start the 24hrs one year. n24 bop has always been a joke, you can bet your sweet ass they're getting a bollocking by all the german manufacturers and that the ferrari won't be anywhere near the podium next year.
Unfortunately that's probably true. There's no way all the German manufacturers would allow ADAC to give Ferrari or any other non-German manufacturer a chance to win again. Porsche, BMW and Merc all cried to the ADAC officials after the race and next year they will definitely get a BoP that let's them win easily.
Simple answer, "no", it's the team behind the machine that's responsible, they poured their time, $$ and souls into that race and deserved to come out on top.
Yeah, because the team won this race without a car, right? Clown. Nobody can win motorsport race without a great car. Give credit to Ferrari and stop moaning.

For Sabine ❤
It has not been made by Ferrari.
The aerodynamic has been done by Dallara.
The mechanical side has been made by Oreca.
I know. I worked on it at Oreca.
Thanks for sharing.
Of course parts of the development are outsourced. But it's still a Ferrari project.
@@BSport320 ignore this french guy hes lying Oreca only assembled the car everything was made by ferrari you can look at the site of ferrari talking about this.
this from Ferrari. "Ferrari is pleased to announce a technical partnership agreement with ORECA for the assembly and after-sales services for the new GT3, which will begin track testing in early 2022. The agreement confirms the Prancing Horse’s long-term commitment to the major championships for Gran Turismo cars."

The 296 GT3 is only ASSEMBLED by Oreca. Everything else is 100% made by Ferrari - project, design, engine. And nothing is done by Dallara. You made all that up. I know I worked on it at Ferrari.
I like frikadel
Hate the engine sound. But no doubt this car is on another level
they won in 24hrs of daytona 😅
Let's see how long it'll be able to keep it's advantage ( if there is any ) before Porsche's Bop fate get's to Ferrari.
BOP Hammer for Ferrari 296 already in GTWORLCHEU DTM and IMSA, barely a Top 5,so a Good BOPPED 296 would be at least top 3 competitive
Well it's gonna get Zakspeed'd next year, 90L fuel tank anyone?
A Video about "why Lambo, Nissan, Bentley, Aston ....." couldnt win the 24h would be awesome! 🤔🙃
Not as beautiful as the 488 but looks like a great package
Best BOP*
Yes BoP is a good point. Ferrari might have sandbagged and BoP might be too gentle with this new GT3 car. But we have to remember that the Porsche 992 GT3R is new as well.
@@BSport320 the old 911 was very fast so they may have received unfavorable bop with the new one
@@BSport320 Well, the BoP wasn't in the favour for the Ferarri (488) in the years before, but it's also a new car...

@@alpher3512 well the 296 Is not doing Good in Gtworlcheu, It needs Better BOP
It was an awesome Nür24h, the only truly sour aftertaste comes from that knobhead Porsche driver absolutely destroying the Dacia...
True but it wasn’t the only incident and it became a pure GT3 race - sadly. There is no respect for smaller teams anymore.
I noticed it jumping, behaving like a prototipe!
Prototypes jumps?
What is the point of paying 50% more when there ist BoP ?
BOP doesn’t account for serviceability of the car mid race
There was 0 semblance of a fight up front. After the Abt Lamborghini puncture, the Frikadelli Ferrari took the lead and wasn’t threatened for the entire remainder of the race, with enough pace and gap to absorb the time loss from their own puncture and late damper failure and still dominate. I love the N24 but they messed up this BOP this time around.
27 Lambo without puncture would have been really close i think
F1 money going to good use.
3:11 So they're doin the opposite of what they're doing in F1. :)
I can see what happen to viper will happen to this ferrari to

What a race and that distance record will stand for some time.
The car itself is not that great looking in my eyes. It looks retro in a bad way or maybe just generic.
Retro what😂😂😂,looks like a prototype and a gt baby
I think the same of the Porsche 963
Seems like Ferrari need to let their sportscar designers at their F1 car... ;)
The rear looks weird ngl
Maybe in the European racing series it’s the best, it sure as hell isn’t good in the imsa American racing series
with the bop that Ferraris always get in the imsa its impossible to do better. Its pretty obvious that the Corvettes get 90% of the time favourable bop.
@@j7b890 Facts.
All your story would be good if it wasnt for the small fact all other cars got BoP breaks before the race except the 296
@@petersafwat8228 Wasnt enough though.
It all depends on BOP. I'm convinced that all other competitors could make their cars much faster if their BOPs were a bit more favourable.
👍
So Ferrari split its engineering team between this and F1. We therefore now know where all the brains went .

no, it's not.
