Live From The Table: Philip Bump Battles Hard on Hunter Biden

- Noam Dworman sits down with Philip Bump and Dov Davidoff.
This one one gets pretty heated and Bump flirts with walking out. We're happy he didn't.
Does the Hunter Biden story implicate his dad? We argue about what can read between the lines.
Philip Bump is a national columnist for The Washington Post; before that he led political coverage for The Atlantic Wire. One of the paper’s most read writers, he focusses on the data behind polls and political rhetoric.
Dov Davidoff is a comic and an actor whose television appearances include The Tonight Show, Crashing and numerous others. He is regular at The Comedy Cellar.
I'm 40 years old and I've seen allot of scary things in my life. Hearing a journalist from a self proclaimed objective publication do this amount of spinning and covering for a politician the way this guy has been is probably one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen.
they are paid to do this.
You need to reevaluate your last 40 years and see how often journalist have been doing this to all of us. I'll give you examples from early history. Weapons of mass destruction, Iran contra, the aids coverage, 2008 financial collapse, the arming of moderate rebels in Syria, the covington school kids, the coverage of the clinton sex scandal and the list goes on
Project mockingbird
Agree, because it lifts a curtain they’d rather not be lifted. Total partisan hackery.
It’s astounding
Simply ask Mr Bump how he would react to another “journalist” running cover like this for Orange Man?
Karine Jean Pierre isn’t even this dogmatic about the president
Journalists defending accusations like this, is precisely how a nation falls into irreparable division
It’s time these people were laughed out of court
Bump is so smug. Imagine putting your reputation on the line for Joe Biden 😂
lmao
To remove Trump most of the news mainstream media did that. Now they are invested in the President they installed.
Maybe they have some nice info on Bump to make him so desperately toe-the-line.
He doesn't really have a good reputation though, so I guess it's all potential upside to him.
Imagine doing it for trump lol
His entire argument boiled down to '' Trust me, I'm a journalist.''
While he bashes every other journalist exposing information he doesn’t agree with.
The headline on his article in Jan 17th WaPo is "doing your own research is a good way to end up being wrong"
The long way of saying "trust me". What a snake.
Bump definitely made the case that it is right that the Republicans are looking into this.
Amazing how easily Philip Bump crumbled. This would happen to every wapo journalist if they faced real questions and weren't sycophants for the Democrat party.
🎯😉
What did you expect ? Phil Bump if he answered this question Honestly Would Disappear Like Seth Rich did Working the Hilary Clinton Campaign !
Crumbled, but still left a true believer 😂
This is what would happen to the Democrat Party if the media hit them with questions other than their favorite ice cream.
Philip Bump is very representative of the out of touch, pretentious and absolutely smug media.
likely corrupt, too
Not out of Touch ! They know the Truth ! But keep it to themselves ! So the Corruption Continuess !
"You refuse to listen to what we're saying." Translation: "You refuse to accept my propaganda unquestioningly."
This is fascinating. We are seeing -in real time - how the media operates in protecting the Democrats.
Funny to hear Bump accuse Carlson of bad faith. He has no self-awareness whatsoever. 🤷♂️😂😂🤪
They never do.
Not to mention darling if liberal left Taibbi who he laughs at when name is introduced
@richbirecki Taibbi's name was like holy water to a vampire.
The emperor has no clothes...
If there is one thing both of them are correct about, it is that Tucker Carlson has no integrity whatsoever. Tucker's dishonesty is breathtaking. He is no better than the NY Times or WaPo.
Scott Adams calls Philip Bump a designated liar
Or just a DemoRat !
Boy does this prove Scott is "on the nose!"
This interview makes it clear that Washington Post's statement "Democracy Dies In Darkness" is not their motto, but their mission statement. Thank you for your part in shedding light on the abysmal state of journalism today.
Bump’s hostility to the interviewer’s fair and calmly asked questions puts his judgement and journalistic integrity into serious question
This really shows how much the liberal press go all out to protect Biden.
That’s what the DNC Pays them For !
I have read the WaPo for close to 30 years and it's heartbreaking to see how much the staff has been subordinated to politics. Mr. Bump demonstrates how closed minded they have become.
Close minded? They are straight up establishment-regime propaganda. You ought to cancel and not read their propaganda.
I feel sorry for you for reading WaPo for 30 years. It is democrat propaganda and not worth the paper it is printed on.
Why would you read that garbage to begin with?
Closed minded.....or corrupt ?
I don't think they are 'close-minded.' They know exactly what they are doing, they're spreading lies and propaganda to subvert a democracy. In other words, Democrats have armed journalism as a left-wing, talking fake narrative to win future elections. It happened in 2020, which no one can deny. They hid the Hunter laptop story, silenced viewpoints, and deleted accounts that even mentioned it, and they did this because of pressure from Biden's White House. The only reason why Shokin was fired was because he was investigating Hunter's business. It time Americans recognize the real facts from fake journalists.
Trump: Guilty until proven innocent
Biden: Innocent (period).
Sums up the mindset yeah.
Or Trump guilty so long as we don’t investigate
Biden innocent so long as we don’t investigate.
It’s a wilful ignorance of the truth, don’t ask don’t tell. Its pathetic
Biden innocent by reason of insanity 😅😅😅😅
Bump is acting like a defense attorney, not a disinterested journalist.
Which is better, that is, to be attorney-like, the problem being, that these reporters selectively decide to use the standards that attorneys (are supposed to employ). When it's DJT, they are no longer interested in balance generally speaking.
This guy is everything wrong with journalism today . How embarrassing
It’s How the DemoRat Party Rolls !
For a "reporter" to be so incurious is astounding....
Bump just walked straight into a buzz saw and gutted himself live on RUclips. Thanks RUclips!
When you read or watch any news media, just remember it is people like him that are delivering it.
That was painful to watch, Bump is absolutely obnoxious the way he constantly interrupted you. He’s running cover for Biden like his life depends on it: the opposite of holding the powerful to account as a free and fair press. Bump is a truly awful person. Your patience is commendable.
What amazes me is how heated he gets at literally every turn
@@laxman268 kind of what you’d expect from the ‘cheating spouse’ examples Dworman used.
I'm guessing that his livelihood depends on how well he runs cover for the democrat ruling class.
He has more patience than I do.
@laxman268 I think it's because the mainstream media is an echo chamber, and Bump is offended that he just doesn't take what he saying as absolute fact.
Wow. He did a really great job dealing with Bump's sophistry. He is an expert at this level of trickery and most cannot handle it. That is why he gets so angry with the interviewer. Well done. This corruption is serious problem in America and you are a patriot for searching for the truth.
@@tidwella not at all. Dworman Is simply applying logic to illustrate how absurd Bump’s spin is. When you take into consideration Hunter’s 20 shell companies, Joe Biden’s ‘burner phones’ and use of pseudonym emails, Hunter Biden’s prolific ‘art sales’ (a well known means of laundering money), and the sheer amount of money (likely tens of $millions of dollars) from China, Russia, Ukraine, Romainia etc. critical thinkers quickly become suspicious of of Bump’s lack of journalistic curiosity
@@tidwella Please go back to the kids table Andrew. You have demonstrated you are not old enough to sit with the adults this Thanksgiving.
@@user-he8su9oq8lagreed Andrew should sit at the kids table on Thanksgiving. PREFERABLY IT HOMETOWN BUFFET. IN ANOTHER ZIP CODE
DUMP. BUMP.. has a good ring to it for bumper sticker 😀
Shshshsh ! Don’t let the Sheep know !
Noam: "It looks like a duck to me."
Bump: "Well it appears like a duck, moves like a duck, and sounds like duck, but we don't have actual proof that it's a duck. We simply don't know."
Thank you, Mr Dworman, for your excellent interview. I was captivated the entire time. I thought it was going to be a meaty, to the point discussion of the facts, but Mr Bump wasted so much time being obtuse and off point. This proved more informative than had he answered honestly. He doesn't want to be honest. It was juvenile on his part, how he handled himself. These are serious questions not befitting being handled by someone acting like a captain of a high school debate team. He is the definition of a Sophist, and a living illustration of Sophists' Achilles heel: the simple truth. No matter how wise or clever one may be, they cannot turn their lies into truth. One can only expose themselves as a fool or worse, for attempting to do so. Thank you for your tenacity and patience. It is easy to see who was right.
Well said.
This person genuinely believes he’s your moral and intellectual superior
Would love to have him come to my house and try and convince me and Mr. Mossberg !
more importantly, he feels he is the arbiter of truth, and the arbiter of information.
The way he laughs at Tucker's name is blood boiling. Tucker poops more journalism than Bumps probably made his whole life.
"This person genuinely believes he’s your moral and intellectual superior". Probably because he is.
@@johnsullivan5101 then why did he walk out and continually get frustrated and say things like "there's no point to this conversation" 🤔
Bump refuses to see the obvious. It's frightening.
He knows the obvious, he is 1:03 urnalist. He writes for the dnc like many other "writers". You are being lied to everyday by most of the legacy media. Truth to power only exists for conservatives, libertarians and Republicans in their eyes.
Not surprising coming from the Washington Post.
Wrong. He doesn’t refuse to see it. He refuses to acknowledge it.
It’s good to subject your beliefs to a spirited cross examination. Bump’s responses were not that. At best he was comical in his specious arguments to what Dworman introduced. At worst he is a willing accessory to a cover up of the greatest bribery scandal in American history.
@@Juicetheeunuchit's worse than that. He works to insure those who don't know about this to adopt his view.
He got real cold when Taibbi’s name was mentioned. Nothing more than a smart court stenographer.
Noam, that was amazing. I'm now a huge fan of yours.
That awkward moment when you believably play the attorney but forget you were hired for the journalist role.
How emotional and defensive Bump gets gives the whole game away. He's a Dem partisan activist with a byline.
Yeah wow, his defensiveness is SUPER telling. Not what I was expecting.
He’s a CIA asset. Look into Project Mockingbird. The CIA disseminates propaganda to the American people through “mainstream media” outlets. These people are all being told what to say - and they still say it. Zero integrity or sovereignty.
As opposed to a right wing hack with a comedy podcast.
Dude is even defensive on the basic facts.
@@vinnym5607 Ah, what’s the matter Vinny. Got caught with your pants down?
Notice how as soon as Matt Taibbi was mentioned this guy wanted to RUN to the door!
Noam did us a public favor with this. This was truly fascinating to witness. Philip is supposedly a "journalist" at one of our most "serious" institutions. Trump's biggest accidental achievement was turning on the lights on weasels like Philip. Noam telling him to just "go, go" at the end was hilarious lol
Streisand effect in action. Who else is here because Bump had a hissy fit on Twitter?
Great effort by Noam, but he forgot that Washington Post writers are never, ever, ever wrong. Ever.
"Washington Post writers are never, ever, ever wrong. Ever." - 4 Pinochios on that! LOL!
Bump is an absolute lunatic😂
The scary thing is Bump seems to truly believe in what he's saying.
True believer
I don't know. If he truly believed I don't think he'd be so emotional, but who knows.
He fidgets like someone who knows he's full of s h i t
He's angry that he can't do his job. Probably scared of being punished by his bosses at the CIA
That was incredible. Philip bumb single handedly destroyed whatever credibility the Washington post had left
Freudian slip. Philip bump
They had some left? It amazed me that both both Woodward and Bernstein are still alive, yet had zero curiosity about that laptop. Could have been another movie in it.
@@usx06240 so true...
Which was less than zero before this interview.
I think it was already gone
Bump gets angry and defensive, as almost all liars get when pressed. Keep up the good work. Thank you Noam
This is amazing Joe just happens to call more then a few times (20+) while he's in meetings. While most of the times Hunter was at home strung out, drunk, or sleeping with who knows what, or doing all 3 at the same time. But calling during all those meetings was just by sheer chance. Right.
Bump: It's not a good conversation because you refuse to listen to what I'm saying to you.
Dworman: I think you think I have to agree with you to be listening.
Bump's repeated complaint translates as "You're not obediently swallowing whatever I feed you!" And the final point about the text messages underscores the startling lack of curiosity in the mainstream media today and fear of the truth.
Good on Dworman for pointing that out.
A hat tip to Mr. Dworman. He was more prepared than the ‘expert’ and demonstrated how criminally incurious members of the press are in this issue.
Yes, he was prepared,...and that's why Bump called it a set-up. They aren't used to be confronted by those who are actually prepared, and have more in their arsenal than a load of soft balls.
"criminally incurious" perfect. way. to. describe. todays. journalists.
@@MacNmey Bump isn’t Used to questions that Out his Presidents Corruption !
Bump was indeed prepared - his job was easy, he only had to deflect every piece of embarrassing circumstantial evidence like some sophomore in high school. Dworman, on the other hand was not prepared at all. He kept stumbling around, not finding notes, not knowing how to respond to questions and responses that he should surely have anticipated! And thus let Bump off the hook!
@@barryffay considering Bump was asked to be a guest because he was an ‘expert’, Dworman, as a host, could only go so far to embarrass him. I didn’t say (or suggest) Dworman was well prepared. I simply said he was more prepared. Dworman easily easily neutered Bump’s absurd deflections, and Dworman was completely disarmed when asked about topics he (as the ‘expert’ propagandist) should have been prepared to spin.
Haha, I just got to the point at the very end where Bump says he doesn’t know what Hunter’s text to his daughter saying he gives half his money to Pops means. 😂😂 He’s selectively taking the word of potential criminals literally and as truth, but only the parts that support his narrative, and then when a clear statement disputes his narrative, he suddenly can’t parse it. What a joke!
"I have no idea what that means" Really? Wow!
Taking him at his word, that he's a simpleton and has no idea what it means, shouldn't his curiosity and ability as an investigative "journalist" drive him to look further into it?
In regard to Hunter’s text to his adult daughter saying “I give half my money to Pops.” And Bump says “I have no idea what that means.” I like Noam’s comment - “Well don’t you think somebody should ask her?” That is the absolute MINIMUM of what any journalist investigating the matter would do.
It's obvious that Bump's lack of curiosity is willful. Truth is irrelevant to him and other MSM "journalists". Only the narrative matters.
@@RickLupisella
I actually thought Dworman did okay, not great. He got so bogged down on Archer's words that he never introduced a boatload of other evidence.
“The battle is won when the average person regards a corporate journalist exactly as they do a tobacco executive.” - Michael Malice
Great line
Philip Bump was BERZERK for the entire interview! I think his blood pressure went thru the roof.
He probably had to hire an additionally Laotian ladyboy for the weekend just to calms himself down.
This is what happens when your paycheck depends on willful ignorance. Text messages, testimonies, money trail- don't believe your lying eyes. The big guy gets 10%- could mean anything, right? A VP and President that uses aliases when communicating with his son's shady business associates- seems like the behavior of an innocent man to me.
Right. Except it's not willful ignorance. Bump is a paid propagandist. Does anyone actually believe he had never heard the words "spin" or "spun" before and had NO idea what those words meant? 😟🤔😂
Yup.
Liberalism is a mental disorder
This is gold. Need more of this
It's quite odd how little curiosity this man has for finding truth.
Just believe because he does.
The Washington Post, where the truth goes to die.
Matt Tiabbi is a badass, real journalist. I love this guy started to panic once Taibbi's reporting is referenced.
He literally laughed out loud the moment to tie his name was mentioned. He is exposing his view of a journalist who was a left wing darling completely
He reacted to Taibbi's name like Voldemort.
Fuck yeah!! Taibbi is the best... his piece a few years back on the how the Defernse Dept hasn't passed an audit for 30 years... for as long as the requirement for an independent audit has been on the books... and come on.. the govt runs the GASB (government accounting standards board).. and the DoD can't even get an AUDIT COMPLETED... despite spedning billions each year on IT and Audit consultants... the same firms that rotate around and perform the audit work...
So if our Defense Dept can't keep any sort of fuckin anything resembling a auditable paper trail in place for even the small procurement programs and subcontracted work? What do you think happens when US funds go into a Ukrainian govt that has a reputation for prudent fianancial managment like Pol Pot had a relentless focus on ensuring Cambodian's had USA level protections on Life Liberty and Property..., Ukrainian govt and business financial managment is equivalent to Pol Pot forcing the entire urban population out of the cities... forced to work on farms and farm by hand... and all the food they produce is confiscated and sold by the gov't to buy weapons and ammo so they can keep killing Vietamese...
Philip Bump: "Who you gonna believe? Me, or your lying eyes?"
I hope as many people as possible can see this interview and see how MSM journalists run cover for the Bidens.
The last 15 minutes of this is GOLD!!
It’s great to see actual journalism
Bump keeps saying Dworman needs to accept his perspective rather than having a debate. The whole point from Dworman is that the circumstantial evidence is so overwhelming that it warrants further, skeptical investigation instead of accepting statements from the potential criminals that everything was kosher, the latter of which is what Bump is doing and has done. The fact that he’s one of two people in the world who still thinks it is legit to say Hunter’s laptop is Russian disinformation also says so much about how blind he is.
“We know they are lying, they know they are lying, they know we know they are lying, we know they know we know they are lying, but they are still lying.” - Attributed to Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn

Indeed! And at 38:35...... dude is projecting hard onto Tucker Carlson with his "least good faith actor in the history of journalism" comment. LMAO!!!
its crazy that 75% of US voters will never see this perspective
What’s crazier is that at least half of those voters won’t care, or they would just believe Bump is in the right even after seeing this.
Well done. The state of journalism is sad to see.
This is one of the best interviews I’ve ever seen.
It's a strange moment in our collective lives when a journalist, who ostensibly seeks to speak truth to power, reflexively defends and support power. He's more defense attorney than journalist, giving Joe Biden the "benefit of the doubt" in each and every instance.
38:35...... dude is projecting hard onto Tucker Carlson with his "least good faith actor in the history of journalism" comment. LMAO!!!
if this was Trump and Don Jr we were talking about, the Dems would be shitting their pants in excitement
And Repubs would continue to bend over backwards to ignore it. 🤷🏻♂️ what’s the point?
@@MelGibsonFanfalse
@@MelGibsonFanthe point is that there aren’t any non-partisan powers at play here, and anyone who thinks the democrats are interested in truth while only the republicans will lie for power needs a cold shower
The weirdest part to me is how blatantly hypocritical it is when defending hunter Biden is compared to the current liberal agenda and talking points, they are against white privilege, special treatment for the rich, and carbon emissions, Hunter Biden is rich white dude that has provably broken laws that every day Americans are currently locked up for as I write this, and he was on the board of a giant corrupt oil company known to use shady business practices and bribes. But man none of that stuff they’ve been saying about white privileged or evil oil companies comes up in this case 🤔
@@MelGibsonFanfalse whataboutism is false. Nice try though
Wow, is Bump a journalist, or a political operative? As a journalist, any journalist, would agree that this doesn’t pass the smell test and Biden’s involvement is at best poor judgement, at worst criminal but either warrant more investigation
Hunter Biden is acting as an unregistered foreign agent to Ukraine, and his father had dealings with him and helped him in his work as a foreign agent as an accomplice. That is the absolute best case scenario for Joe Biden, but it's still criminal. But we all know that Hunter Biden offered nothing to Burisma or to Ukraine outside of the influence of his father. And yet, he was paid in boatloads of cash, and Biden fired prosecutor when the President of Ukraine specifically said the prosecutor did nothing wrong.
Wow, is Bump a journalist, or a political operative? ~ You know the answer, I know the answer.....we all know the answer.
The JOB of the "MAINSTREAM MEDIA "is to keep you MIS-INFORMED about what you KNOW and UN-INFORMED about what you dont
he's an activist
There's no journalism these days. They're all political operatives wearing journalism as a skin suit.
Wow…Tony bobulinski, devin archer, the prosecutor, emails, phone calls, text messages, dinners.. these democrats are evil
This tells you all you need to know about the mainstream media. Not an ounce of integrity, full of smugness, arrogant, and wildly partisan.
FYI Noam, Tucker is a journalist, Bump is a propagandist.
You're half right. Bump and Tucker are both full time propagandists.
I don’t dislike Tucker but it’s not really a journalist
Bump Is a Parrot !
This Interview was fantastic. I heard it went "off the rails". I disagree with that. Phillip Bump was exposed as the gate keeper that he is. He turned into blithering mess. Very evident that he was angry. He obviously didn't expect to get Challenged the way he did. That was very evident. He seems to have either underestimated how prepared the host was or thought that this was going to be some sort of Layup interview. Bump showed himself not be a reporter on this matter but just a defender in the Press. On this matter anyway
Propagandist is a more accurate description.
WaPo is full of these guys.
If this were about Trump and one of his sons or Jared, this columnist would be singing a different tune.

This is so painful to watch. Congratulations to you for being able to manage to not throw your hands up in the air earlier and tell him to leave your set.
It was found that Tony Blinken is the one who organized the letter claiming the laptop was a Russian info op. His reward was to be appointed Secretary of State. You thing Bump would have known that.
You think he doesn't?
It's a good thing he's accountable.... to an organization that shares his exact same biases.
Everytime he's asked a sensitive, compromising and damning question he crosses his arms.... his body language says it all
This is the best interview explaining the scandal. Thank you for doing this.
There are far better videos out there explaining this beginning to end. Megyn Kelly and Ben Shapiro have done some excellent work on it, especially Megyn.
Nice work exposing this lying snake.
WE ALL DESERVE THE TRUTH! keep up the good work!
Bump crossing his arms while answering questions is a sign of feeling insecurity and defensiveness = LYING.
I love when tons of evidence is dumped on one of these simpletons, it's always "Give me the evidence! Lay it on me!"
Or...nothing to see here, show me the proof of bribery, corruption, etc...
Meanwhile while the DOJ and FBI collude to manufacture the crimea and then find the person to fit it, just to take the heat of Biden.
Banana republic at minimum. And people wonder why and how there is a two tier justice system and why confidence is at an historic all time low
To Bump, it's not evidence unless there is video of Hunter handing a briefcase with 10 million dollars in it to Joe Biden in the middle of the night while sitting in his 67 Corvette inside the garage. "The Big guy"...."I have to give half my money to dad!!"....."I called dad,...I called dad.." Bump:.."but where's the evidence???"
Every time Bump says “C’mon, lay it on me!” it’s only to get away from the concern which was previously raised which Bump doesn’t want to or can’t answer in a way that protects Joe Biden. Every time.

Their motto is not a warning, it's a strategy.

After hearing this interview with Philip Bump, there is absolutely no way possible he is NOT on the payroll of the 🐍 🐀 🤡 Dems. He is a “journalist” has to be the funniest things I’ve heard in all my life.
By Bump’s logic, no one has ever gotten away with lying under oath. The issues Dworman raises with the trustability of Archer’s under-oath testimony are valid
Great work btw, for hanging in there...
Archer says no one in politics for fifty years is so unsophisticated as to talk directly about their corrupt practices.
Bump responds “See? Hunter never talked to his dad!” 🤷♂️🤪😂
Bump performed like a really smart guy who will do everything he can not to see and admit to seeing the obvious. He has written extensively about the laptop issues. If the text message from Hunter to his daughter is evidence (which he admitted to) and Bump does not know if his daughter was asked about what it meant, why does Bump not give her a call and ask the question? He has the full weight of the WaPo behind him to ask questions and to get answers. Perhaps he does not want to ask out of fear of what the answer might be. No worries sir, just ignore it like you ignore the other evidence.

Wow! That was incredibly informative. I would never have believed a reporter from the Washington Post could be so disingenuous, and disrespectful. Kudos for putting up with him and bending over backwards to let him try to make his point.
I'm 63 and this is the most horrifying behavior I've ever seen from any "journalist" in my entire life. Bump is overtly biased to the extent of feeling somehow obligated to cover for crimes. He feels justified in lying to his readers.
"10% for the big guy to be held by H"
No, no evidence, none, nope
Just one of about a dozen pieces of evidence that Noam didn't have time to get to.
Phillip Bump was really testy, and hot-tempered. I thought professional journalists were supposed to be calm, courteous, and stick to the facts. He was throwing arms all over the place. The best word I could use to describe his demeanor: BERZERK!
* Berserk
I recently read a poll that stated Journalist are the most hated profession in our society, displacing Lawyers & Politicians. To understand this phenomenon Mr. Bump gives a MasterClass . This video was very difficult to watch. To know this man is to loathe this man.
Great job, Noam. Your points were right on.
Bump is a spinning poll dancer for the Bidens.
This is just depressing and speaks to the sorry state of the press today in our country. I realize columnist ≠ journalist, but Mr. Bump just seems way too emotionally invested in upholding one side of this issue. There may be a scandal here or there may be absolutely nothing, but the fact that the press seems wholly uninterested in examining both sides of the question is unfortunate. Part of what makes our country work is a free and fair press holding the powerful accountable; now we seem to have a press that is only interested in holding certain leaders accountable. Its just a further erosion of our institutions that has occurred over the last 7 years.
Wow. That was maddening to listen to. I have no idea how you stayed so cool.
This is embarrassing. Shutting down questions is absurd. This clutz's reputation will never recover, such as it was.
