I understand you meant to say Sinful Passion has impressive vocals technique wise but maybe your comment implies that Dimash's singing is vocal gymnastics when its really much more then that, it envolves emotion, presentation, etc. Dimash vocals skills serves the music and art rather then the song just being a plataform for him to show off. Hope im not overthinking :)

Dimash is a phenomenon, he started singing lessons and 5 when it was found he has perfect pitch. He is university educated with degrees in classical opera, another in contemporary music, pop and jazz with a major in vocal. He also completed a Broadway musical masterclass and has just completed his masters in Composition with top score of 100 points. His range is over 6 octaves (7 now)but Dimash is dismissive and says it's not how big your range is but what you do with it. He has won many prestigious singing competitions and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. He sings in 12 different languages, speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a very hard language to learn but again he is doing well with it.
In this performance he was 22 and in a competition for professional singers in China he was invited as a wildcard and after this one song was catapulted to stardom and is now a pop superstar in China. He is now also famous in Russia mainly for his neo classical work with Igor Krutoy and many of those works are very operatic. His vocals range from a rich bass baritone through to an extremely high soprano and his whistle register has hit a D8 for 5 seconds with vibrato. He is on a solo world tour tight now and in his concerts he sings for 3 to 4 hours with an eclectic mix of styles. He is from a very musical family both parents and his sister sing, mother is a soprano. Dimash was offered a place with the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down to follow his own path and he has been very successful thus far, but I suspect world domination will soon come his way. He is a multi instrumentalist too and is very competent with 8 instruments but can play just about anything. He is 26 now, and is mostly known as a live performer, he has released a triple platinum album in China though. It has been recognised that his high notes are not whistle, but head voice, Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does its spectacular like everything else about him. He has billions of fans worldwide and I am definitely one of them, and he calls us his Dears, as we are all as dear to him as his family, and he means it, he knows who helped to make him famous. He is a softly spoken, polite, elegant and very humble respectful young man. He deserves every bit of the success he is having, he has worked very hard for the past 20 plus years and now his dreams as a young 5 year old are coming true. There is an interview he did for BBC World Service in 2018 where the interviewer showed a drawing he did when he was 5 of him singing on a big stage with microphones, speakers and his beloved music cassettes showing his desire to be where he is now. His recent sellout world tour has been postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic but will restart when its safe to do so. He has concerts lined up in Dusseldorf, Prague and Minsk there will be others. I have edited it now and also changed a bit as there is news, on 18th of thus month Dimash completed his Masters programme and achieved the top score of 100 points. I was so happy when I heard I had a silly grin on my face all day, I am so proud of him. Love my Dimash ❤❤❤

Absolutely, he's been singing and training ever since he was 5 years old. But don't forget about the talent you need. Dimash has been given that in spades due to both his parents being successful musicians themselves.
BTW Being a "reactionary" is a political classification for someone opposing a political shift. I'm not quite sure what the correct English term for people discussing performances is though; "analyst" or "critic" comes to mind, although the latter is often seen as negative which it in the truest sense not needs to be. (I'm no native English speaker either)

Exactly this! A casual fan of music will be stunned by Dimash. However, musicians, composers, and vocalists experience something different... almost like a religious experience. By all the rules they govern their craft by, Dimash should not be possible!

I read many comments that say Dimash shows no emotion he just sings high notes. I get upset with these comments just no way this is true guess they just don't like his style of music and try to find something negative to say about him. Many are vocal coaches have said this perhaps they are jealous.

I highly recommend checking out "Sinful Passion" and "Ogni Pietra". These two songs, along with "SOS" make up the 3 absolute must-see songs by Dimash, in my opinion. Despite "SOS" being such an impressive display of different techniques, styles and acrobatics by Dimash, there are still quite a few stuff that will surprise you in the other two songs as well!!

Dimash has degrees in both classical and contemporary music, currently pursuing his master degree in music compositions. He has studied, trains, analyse, practice and performed vocals and music for twenty years. He turned 26 last month on 24th. He's also a composer and multi instrumentalist. You could say Dimash is music/singing royalty in Kazakhstan as both his parents were popular established singers there, mother a soprano singer, dad a pop singer, composer, lyricist, imstrumentalist and producer who currently actsc as Dimash's producer and manager too.

That was 3 years ago you should hear him now! He is the best singer/performer in the world. I call him a vocal contortionist, but beyond his 6 octave range, unbelievable breath control and acrobatic runs it's his ability to translate musical notes and style to raw emotion. Keep in mind this was over 3 years ago. This was the first song I saw Dimash sing, as well. He still practices and studies every day when possible therefor, he has continuously improved over the years. Every song, he shows something new! He changes the way he sings the same songs! I knew within 30 seconds that I was probably listening to the best singer in the world, because he was doing things with his voice I'd never heard before. The truly amazing thing about Dimash is you'd think, well I've heard Everything he can do, but you'd be so WRONG! He by far the most diverse singer/performer Ever. With an incredible near 7 octave range, the ability to sing in Any music style in 12 different languages. He has the most flexible voice yet with complete control that I've ever heard, and his breath control (he can belt a note for 25 seconds) He will in my opinion go down in history as the best all-around singer/performer of all time. 😊🏴👍

- Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and now studies in the master's degree of the university in the class "Composition"
- Sings in genres: pop, rock, classics, crossover (neo-classics), folklore, rap, jazz.
- Singer, composer (wrote music for 10 songs), multi-instrumentalist (dombra, piano, percussion, guitar).

This song was written for a French Rock Opera in 1974-75. The main male lead it was written for had a 4.5 octave range. Dimash here at 22 had a 6 octave 2 semi tone range and just turned 26 on May 24, 2020.
He started classical voice and piano at age 5 and is still training. He has 2 music degrees and working on his 3rd. Plays 8 instruments, everyone forgets the Xylephone. Speaks Kazakh his native tongue and Russian fluently, Mandarin conversationally and his English is ok. He understands it better than he speaks it but he is learning Mandarin and English still. He sings in at least a dozen languages.
He went to a school for the performing arts from a young child. Oh, plus had/has tutors. He took taekwondo and swimming. He still swims today regularly for breath control.
His mother is a professional opera singer ( soprano) and his father was a pop singer, composer and lyricist. He is now Dimash's manager. Dimash has written lyrics or composed some dozen of his own songs. Dimash was offered a position with a fine opera house but declined, actually probably more than one but one the public has been told about. ( he is a very kind and humble man as you will learn).
He backed out of a Competion that had him and an 11 year old singer and a 12 year old piano player because in his culture you are taught you don't beat children down but lift them up. He had one condition upon entering the competion and that was not competing against children. The producers told him no kids. Near the end of this Competion where all were kept secret from one another he happened to be in a hall and saw a young girl...
She was from his country and he knew her because he and his family were giving money to a foundation that helped her school and he knew her because she was a wonderful singer. She told him she was one of the finalists. So Dimash when he went out on stage asked to allowed to removed from the competion and they were pissed. The judges told him he should finish what he started even though he told them about his culture and that he asked if there would be kids.
They cut out from the broadcast the part about the kids though but fortunately some of the people in the audience took to RUclips and Twitter after and the show ended up looking very bad for treating him like that and lying to him. It was an American show in its 1st season, it didn't have a second. But the winning prize was a million dollars and Dimash walked away from that so the 2 kids could compete.
Dimash said he wants to make all kinds of music for all kinds of people. That is why you will find him breaking the stereotypes of what you can sing with what or who. You will find Dimash immerses himself into the music. You will see his fingers move, his hand, his back though always straight, moves, knees bend..maybe helping his diaphragm get that extra bit out for a long held note. His eyes. He controls his stage and the audience from the start.
This man though not the most octaves in the world, can wring everything from each note. Every texture and color. When you think you have seen everything he can do he will show you something new. In his songs from The Singer in China he uses his high notes each time but it was part of his tool box and it was a competition so it was something he had to use. You will find Dimash is more than a high note. Enjoy, he is so worth it.

Amazing reaction, and be more amazed by Dimash by knowing that he was very nervous during this performance, and that he can not only do this song better but also that he can do everything he did in the song better. (More emotion, power, high/low notes.) And Dimash is multytalented so you have almost seen nothing from him.

Dimash is more than just perfect notes, placements, wide ranges, perfect vocal techniques........he is THE complete package.Timbres, colours, depths, dynamis, emotions, connections, stage presence, etc.......that's why he is called the best in tthe world.

Anybody who knows anything about music are usually left with a loss for words after hearing him for the first time with this performance. His other performances are equally mesmerizing. His vocal talent plus his stage presence makes him quite a phenomenon. Welcome to the club 😊
