@@QuantzPhoto Elastic would be best if possible. There's always gaps with the velcro. It's not the exact same size as the Westcott 3x4 and so things get scrunched up to make it work and that's were the gaps start to form. Or you could make the modifiers about an inch longer and that would solve the problem and give me a flush connection between the two.
I try my best to close them but I always have to touch up a few spots in lightroom and yes I saw your installation video and yes I follow it to a T. I still like them though but there's plenty of room for a 2.0. Also the 3x4 size should come with a pair of extra long tension rods for displaying it in the horizontal configuration to keep the circles in the shape of a circle.
These are nice James! Any plans to make one for the smaller FJ200 reflector? I'll probably just get the 5" and use the bowens mount to put the 200s in so I can use the FJ400s reflector. Or just buy a couple 7" reflectors for this use.
The 5” fit the 200 reflectors!

I made certain to watch the video twice and read all the comments and I still fell like this a newbie question, what about the gels for color? A spcific insert for gels, a place for gels, order a seperate gel cover for the strobes?
Hey Bill if you use Westcott lights you can use their flexigels like you see in the examples. Otherwise just place a gel inside first!

James, I see there is color in your mods, are those LED color lights? I want to use these Minis with my fj200s and 400s with both 11” deep reflector and the stock ones and would like to gel them. Any ideas on gels that will work with these mods? THX JB
Those are the Westcott Flexigels. I'm pretty sure I talk about them in the video.
