This is the hardest thing to learn for new players I wish in offline mode you could use a map and all of the exits are marked. Then being able to place a marker would be tremendously helpful for new players. Only in offline mode. I don't see why they don't do this I've had the game for weeks and I still don't know the maps.
its really putting me off playing tbh, what good are maps if you dont know where you spawned, these guys know these maps, new players are just wandering about usually in the dark, i have no torch, i am collecting stuff but i dont know where an extraction is or where i am on a map, so annoying
I’ve played roughly 200 hours second wipe, at least 160 of those have been on customs and I’m still learning new angles and new stashes every day. Map knowledge is probably the most important thing, I’m useless in a pmc gun fight but am confident I can escape once an engagement starts with another pmc. Before I “learnt” the map I would die in every situation. The rest of my play time has been probably 30 hours in woods where I rely heavily on the compass to find an extraction and am not even slightly used to scav spawn locations, and maybe 5 hours on shoreline in offline mode where again without a compass I’d have no chance to escape. I think realistically, to become confident on a map, your looking at around 60-70 hours of playtime to get spawns, extracts, scav locations, a handful of loot areas, and choke/ambush points like second nature
@@Lonely_Goat you just learn with enough time. Don’t worry about surviving yet, try but don’t be mad if you die. Just focus on learning what’s on one map before anything else. This game is really hard but if you don’t give up you’ll reap the rewards of getting accustomed to it. Sure you could just play some other game if tarkov is too hard, but nothing compares to it and you’ll always wish you wish you knew how to play until you learn
Not even a week playing yet and I definitely have the upper hand on people starting off now because of this. Still getting destroyed but I love how tense this game is
That said, best way to move forward is run map exercises and practice various routes, try different checkpoints etc. Last night did a shoreline cache run and was surprised to learn of some really dangerous map spots I was not familiar with, as well as some great approaches to places like power and villas that are a bit off-std routes. Also figured the killer spot between power and gas that has almost clear 90 fov to shoreline that is prime sniper location/the one next to station that can see into pier building etc. Still learning stuff every game..
I watch your stream and saw your beginner video. I have wondered about learning exit points specifically. Even with this, you have to just out of a steam game to go to this map. You could get hit or attacked while looking and never know who or what did it. In a steam game I thought there were issues jumping out of a game also. Either way, this is a nice resource but I would use it in an offline game to avoid issues. I do watch your evening streams when possible. Thank You. Thumbs Up!!!
Damn I didn’t know that this man didn’t know about this resource. I joined this wipe and searched for tarkov maps and found Map Genie and oh my god i learned so fast not to mention I also used the “Learn X map in 5 minute videos” which are pretty helpful as well. Those videos show you stuff to look for to understand the general spot you are in when you spawn or just in general
Bro! I just needed this! Thank you for this video, You helped me so much I didnt know about this web site and I am new to this game so this will for sure help out!
This website is the only reason I made it through my first 100 hours of EFT & I still use these tools on every map just to have it in my back pocket. I wish they added an attachment tool. That way I know how to make guns fit properly together.
Can also download overwolf for maps in 2D and 3D then they have items for beginners to focus, and a key guide from pestily and I can ctrl+z to open an in game overlay
Nice these maps are great ! i had googled some maps and printer them off but the map quality was pretty crap ! Only got the game 3 days ago so this with help vastly !
Great Tool and resource, although the 'Upgrade to PRO', only includes maps for a specific game, and not their entire catalog of games. So you need to purchase PRO on a: 'By Game Basis'. Or so i believe, or am i wrong?. PS: Jesse, you have a very pleasant nature, and welcoming channel, always a pleasure to hang out
Great resource for sure, shame they don't have reserve yet tho as its the one I need the most! I think I will be using it a lot when streets of tarkov drops :)
@jessekazam Any tips on knowing where exactly you are when you spawn? once i figure out where i am i look at the map and run in the direction i think is right to an extraction and turns out to be complete opposite way. are the maps inverted or some shit?
dude, i have stoped playing tarkov because of that kinda of things, but, after your video, well, a thinking to give another chance, the game is really cruel with the new players
I sent one of my friends a link to mapgenie and he said he got some kind of ad that looked sketchy but the second time worked. Is this site safe to use? Or does he already have malware on his computer. I havent got any pop ups on mapgenie yet
I'm brand new to the game. What is discouraging to me is that 90% of the raids I get into are night time and I can't see anything. But other players see me just fine (using nv scopes I assume). How do I, as a new player with no flashlight or night vision, compete with that? I hope I'm overlooking something accessible. Thanks!
I honestly just wish this was all ingame. No point in touting yourself as the most immersive gun sim when you have to play with 2 monitors and constantly look at an out of game screen
Why is there just not maps in the game? I get the "ideal" why they do not have a map every player just has but players will just use this! "The internet will compensate" the lack of in-game maps!
no chance, the map is maybe helpfull when i know where i am. but i played now 10 games on the same map, and all 10 games, i get killed because i was searching the exit :( depressed
If you go out of your way to say that theres another similar tool but with more features then go ahead and link it instead of saying that bs "ill link if interested"
as a new player its hard to find extraction points when im mind raid while my timer is counting down trying to figure out where im at on the map but then die and only have one monitor it gets super frustrating i usually end up losing all my loot and just waiting till the next wipe

@@carlpincombe1642 so just keep doing same map?

Came here from bsg launcher
Not even a week playing yet and I definitely have the upper hand on people starting off now because of this. Still getting destroyed but I love how tense this game is
Yeah man been learning the game this last 2 weeks using this map genie. Its been the best option out there imo
TY for going through this Jesse. Its really helped me out.
Great video. I’ve been on ETF for about 2 months. Been using Map Genie from the start. Still found your vid helpful

Thank the maker for this! My biggest deterrent was not knowing spawn tendencies, I think I will delve back into things.

your mic is INSANE brother, thank you !
These maps are dope... even as an experienced player like I am there is tons of helpful stuff on the maps! Thanks for sharing this!
Been playing for about 2 days and this resource is really helpful

question, what good are they if i dont know where i have spawned on the map, im literally playing 15 mins overall
There is no use to them when you have no idea where you are.
This has been a game changer for me tbh thank you so much man💯💯
Can also download overwolf for maps in 2D and 3D then they have items for beginners to focus, and a key guide from pestily and I can ctrl+z to open an in game overlay
this is huge man keep up the great content
This looks awesome! Im getting tarkov these next couple of days... currently waiting to get my own credit card lmao
Definitely gonna use this, thanks!
The Wiki should link to this website!!
Always great content! Thank you.
This is crazy! Love it and this will help me learn woods, interchange and labs at last
Man that's freaking nice! Thanks Jesse.
Great video, really going to help me learn this game, thank you for the hard work, keep it up!
Thanks Jesse. This is a great vid
Nice resource. Thanks for pointing it out👌🏼
I just started recently on my laptop so this will help thanks
Great tip. 😀 Started to use it just a couple of days ago. Great stuff. 😀
Nice these maps are great ! i had googled some maps and printer them off but the map quality was pretty crap ! Only got the game 3 days ago so this with help vastly !
Wow. Amazing resource.
I just installed tarkov 3 days ago and its very hard to notice where u are on the maps. I always get lost when trying to go to extractions
Wow thanks Jesse what a shout!
Ayy, I have the same chair. Subbed because of that, but the video was pretty dope as well

Watching this cuz of the discord, love the content jesse
This is awesome I had no idea this existed? Is there a desktop app or just gotta open a browser tab?
You could probably screen shot I and open in photos
Pretty new to pc and tarkov. So i jist run this mapgenie in the background and tab out to it. Does it slow the game down at all?
Great resource for sure, shame they don't have reserve yet tho as its the one I need the most! I think I will be using it a lot when streets of tarkov drops :)
Pretty dang sweet thanks for sharing big 🐕
Thanks Jesse
@jessekazam Any tips on knowing where exactly you are when you spawn? once i figure out where i am i look at the map and run in the direction i think is right to an extraction and turns out to be complete opposite way. are the maps inverted or some shit?
No way to figure any of that out accept for just play a shitton get railed a shitton untill you figure it out. Its quite a deterrence honestly.
dude, i have stoped playing tarkov because of that kinda of things, but, after your video, well, a thinking to give another chance, the game is really cruel with the new players
can the interactive map track your players movement live on the map?
No and thats whats really hard for me its great to have a map but to not know where you are on the map and where you're going renders it useless.
I sent one of my friends a link to mapgenie and he said he got some kind of ad that looked sketchy but the second time worked. Is this site safe to use? Or does he already have malware on his computer. I havent got any pop ups on mapgenie yet
Dude this website is crazy. Omfg. Its a lot of effort. :O
Is it worth getting the pro version?
I'm brand new to the game. What is discouraging to me is that 90% of the raids I get into are night time and I can't see anything. But other players see me just fine (using nv scopes I assume). How do I, as a new player with no flashlight or night vision, compete with that? I hope I'm overlooking something accessible. Thanks!
choose the raid option that isn’t night, 07:00 to about 21:00 is usually bright enough
The history repeats it self 🌺🌺
>not already knowing about and constantly having mapgenie open
¬ヮ¬
Hey guys I’m just an exam and welcome to another eft video
Awesome!!!
I wish tarkov had random map changing each raid. Every raid? every quest would be fresh
Get the mapge ie tarkov app helps
I don't have another monitor... I guess I could use my phone
I honestly just wish this was all ingame. No point in touting yourself as the most immersive gun sim when you have to play with 2 monitors and constantly look at an out of game screen
Already had the app didnt know about the website, thanks!
Love you
i've been trying to use mapgenie but it barely helps on customs i swear everything looks exactly the same
watched whole video and i use map genie every raid but i still find myself lost not knowing what im doing :(
me too
they should work together Bsg and Map.io
If only my computer could run tarkov and google chrome
Why is there just not maps in the game? I get the "ideal" why they do not have a map every player just has but players will just use this! "The internet will compensate" the lack of in-game maps!
This is a phone app aswell. Its literally this. Its calles Escape tarkov map
I just bought this game. I am so fucking lost LMAO
Comment for algorithms
Does anyone help newbies, or is it hopeless?
no chance, the map is maybe helpfull when i know where i am. but i played now 10 games on the same map, and all 10 games, i get killed because i was searching the exit :( depressed
they should just have in-game map, ain't nobody got time for that.
How do i know WHERE the fuck i am on that map in the first place? I spawn and have no fucking idea where i am and where i should go to extract.
great video. there's another tool out there that does most this and more, i can provide a link if you're interested
If you go out of your way to say that theres another similar tool but with more features then go ahead and link it instead of saying that bs "ill link if interested"
plz turn the bass down on ur mic man
❤
as a new player its hard to find extraction points when im mind raid while my timer is counting down trying to figure out where im at on the map but then die and only have one monitor it gets super frustrating i usually end up losing all my loot and just waiting till the next wipe
lol @ selling access to maps!
This game would be so much better if you did not need a second monitor to play it!
