Thank you so much for this video. The learning curve in the game is insane so I've just been doing hours of offline mode/SCAV modes and this video gave me the courage to do my first online PMC raid. I bought the SKS and paired it with the 7.62x39 BP ammo, did some looting, and on my way to extraction I had the drop on another PMC, he dropped after one shot while he was crossing a makeshift bridge in Customs (This is the only map I know). I noticed his buddy was behind him and took a few shots at him and he took off up the hill. I Looted the PMC and found DT MDR w/ a suppressor, hybrid sight, and 60 round mag. He also had a Vepr Hunter with a suppressor, RDS, along with an m9A3. After extraction, it appeared his buddy bled out after running away. It didn't tell me where I hit either one of them because the stats just said "???" but anyway, this game is such an adrenaline rush. Sorry if I'm rambling but that was super exciting! So I have had this game since version .05 over 3 years ago and I’ve only put in maybe 30 hours total in that time throughout the multiple wipes. I’ve always tried, but could never seem to find the right way to start in the beginning and would get so unmotivated to try. It’s caused me to lose the want to play a game that I’ve wanted to learn for so long. This video explaining this has made me realize a lot of simple things that noob players like me probably never realized. Don’t worry about quests. Just that realization honestly makes it so much easier to focus on the goal of just survive. Thank you pestily for this video, it gave me a want to pick up this game again and try to make it far in this wipe/patch. I can’t say I will do great, but I at least have an idea on what to do to make it past the early game.
An advice for scav runs on interchange: pay attention to when you spawn, the raid starts at 45 minutes, if you spawn with 37+ minutes remaining rush the tech stores, do not bother with texo and techlight tho, since pmcs and other player scavs will be there, loot rasmussen, german and the other tech store (I can't remember the name) and look for gpus or tetrizes, if you find one, extract, if you spawn with 30 or less minutes remaining, loot oli or idea and then extract, if you spawn in the middle of those two, it's your choise if you want to risk it trying to loot the tech stores or if you want to just loot oli or idea, it depends on how many gunshots you hear and on what you have, personally if I do not have anything and I do not hear too many gunshots, or if I hear a lot of gunshots in the same place (4 to 5 different guns) I will try to rush the tech stores that are the furthest away from the gunshots and then extract if I find something. Almost every time I spawn 37+ minutes in I'm able to find a tetriz or a gpu, scaving on interchange is a really great way to make money and I couldn't recommend it more.
I would point out that at 27:41 when Pest notices the cache is looted, also take note it was still open. Trust little indicators like that when you see them in the game world. The Interchange cache route is popular because it is the most linear cache route of any map making it the easiest to learn and run. Great video.

when you got a labs keycard, you can go to labs in offline mode and learn fighting raiders. this is one of the best way to learn fighting, because they are a harder to fight than regular scavs. when you die you lose nothing, your keycard will stay in your pocket so you can run again and again. dont underestimate the offline mode!

Honestly I would say best way to start as a newb is to do scav runs until you learn a map or two and / or your stash is full of gear. Then do PMC runs with your scav looted gear. Honestly costs you almost nothing at that point (meds, if you bring them).
Interchange is the best for stash runs because they are lined up around the edge of the map and you can just run around without having to go through any kill zones or scav spawns. On woods and shoreline it's better to loot the villages and USEC camps.

Serious question: What to do, when ur constantly getting killed, without even knowing where the enemy is? I tried different routes, either through the middle of the map, or sticking to the sides, or anything else, but I always, ALWAYS get shot, and even if I'm not instantly dead, I can't see where they are. This kind of frustrates me, and I really don't know what to do about it. A serious reply would be immensly helpful!

you forgot to mention that 90% of the time you get spawn rushed, so just get a way from the spawn area quickly to counter that
I would say 90% off new player's quit the game b4 reaching level 10
yeah especially nowadays..imo these kids have been programmed to expect immediate gratification..most games are designed to make even the worst players feel like their winning and have success from day 1..however playing a game like this definitely takes time, patience and commitment to improve but the reward and feeling when u achieve something is incredible
@@timmy1tap678 yes because gaming is not a niche anymore. A lot of "grown ups" are playing(like me 30yo). i have regular job and sure i want to have a "Winning" feeling. i dont want a second job, rather just nice evening at my PC. and there is nothing bad about it. most people quit not because the game is hard, but because the game offers ZERO tutorial or help to the new player.
@@kraviits6647 if you're a grownup then u should understand how life works..not everything is handed to u..there are hundreds of games out there to play that hold your hand..that's NOT what this game is designed to do..they want the game to be hard..so really if people are in the position that you're in and didn't do any research about the game before u bought it?? then thats on u..get informed before u make a purchase..if u buy a game thats notoriously difficult and didn't research what u were buying before u bought it that's on u..aren't u a grownup?? then make grownup decisions..and if u wanna play a game that holds your hand cuz u don't have the time to really learn something difficult then cool thats understandable..but then don't buy a game that requires that amount of effort
@@kraviits6647 yes there shud be a xp tutorial is easy enough to get a scav run done and get gear that way too many spawn kills as a pmc imo there are too many per map soon as a shots fired people rush from all angles 90% off new players lose the gun fight kicking them back to the menu with no xp lol i just moved to pc from console a month ago as a solo player ive quit the game 9 or 10 times myself lol
@@timmy1tap678 damn, you are so mature. i never stated that i regret buying the game, but its funny how easily triggered you are. and thank you for your valuable "life lesson" about how hard and unfair the life is. maybe it is for someone like you, but in my case im really happy about my life. have a nice day buddy
Mate - Lvl 1 - if I tried to do this in that 1st raid... My SKS would miss, low skills, I couldn't run that long or well...I would have died in 40s flat. Your level 48 character has some serious spec buffs compared to us noobs.
“4 minutes and 15 minutes left to extract.”
Man this has been helpful as a new player.
This is really appreciated! Thank you Pestily!
you're the man for this
I use to have that loot fear. Too be honest, once you get past the first few levels and playing consistently, you start building up knowledge and now i’ve started to enjoy the game.
BIG ASK: Would love to see a demonstration of different gun sounds from say, 150m-200m away. I know a lot but I feel like it would be really helpful for new players.
soooo, that's what it feels like to actually HEAR the enemies footsteps.
Welp, good for you
Turn up your sound, use comtacts, sordinds, etc etc, any headset is better than no headset
I always get hype when he says let’s crack straight into it
Man pestily is such a good person honestly glad I found out about him
dude thanks, I needed to see this
The veper is also great if you have prapor lv2 for the recoil pad and you have 30 round mags do some pistol runs on reserve I get like 2 to 5 boxes of ps on reserve so you can get ammo then you have a cheap kit vepr ak is like 10-15k on fleamarket I use them for my budget kit's
Look, I know pestilly said to avoid factory, but the reason to avoid it is exactly why anyone that's willing to get good, that are put in difficult combat situations that will force you to get better, quickly, should play it.
10:41
That's me.
Trying to do what you said
Its funny that you say that people won't pick up that sks, because i would totally drop my own SKS and then take your SKS and get my own SKS back from insurance and then some random guy would come along, drop his SKS and take MY SKS and the cycle repeats :- ) but i totally agree with you, customs is literally a noobie trap, its literally a Battlefield / COD map. only go in there for quests or PVP.
16:20 *Sniffle* Thank you, Pestily.
Great vid Pest, thanks mate.
Stashes are amazing. I just got a lvl 6 vest worth 132k rubles and 30k worth of other stuff. They are great for knife runs too. Plz learn em.
OK I clicked on this video because it said reading 101 but what you’re talking about is not raining it’s simply PVP reading has a couple of different meanings from either of them can apply to escape from tarkov
you'r my favorite youtuber
Another transmission from Pestily is always a good day
Mid wipe as a new player ( 2 months in) it's painful to see that people aren't hungry anymore, leaving bronze lions and propane tanks behind (for barter gas tanks) for example.
Find someone to show you the ways
Thx dad! Cheers for the tips!
Nice Video dude!
Great video, probably my favorite
Love the Videos! Thank you for the tips!
This editor is good!
in game mini map with exstracts on would really help new players
I just started a few days ago and the biggest problem I'm having is not knowing the maps. Bc I can go in and loot but usually can't find the a extract. I think I just need to try and find a group to play with.
map knowledge is a things in tarkov.
Thx, this was really helpful
Got any specifics on your audio? I've seen some streamers hear things but no matter how many times I replay the video, I cannot hear whatever they heard. Was wondering if they use a software to boost audio.
At 28:43, I didn't hear the guy till after you said you heard him, no matter how many replays...
same, maxed out the volume, rewind through time after time, heard nothing.
As a 100% solo player, this game really beats me up. I'm pretty damn sneaky though.
On a different note, INSANE green screening bro
Jesus.. At the 23:02 mark I'm expecting Doomguy to appear out of that red mist.
me level 42 on the new wipe watching this like mhm yes
30:06 Game is so realistic you even have to hoard TP. :P
“Ok let’s talk maps.
Factory: don’t bother”
Me 5 minutes later : I'm going to factory as a scav only to be killed 0.02 sec extracting on office window
Thanks for this. I suck at this game but love it. Nothing like smoking a few guys and making it out lookin like Fat Albert.
losing a gzhel and ulach while doing a stash run would feel so bad as a new player
damn, I only took exactly 3000 Roubles for the Bridgeextract and though tit was bugged....
love to see your face zipping around the Wikimaps again :)
Pestily sprintily 😂
9:05 - 9:08
This is called a 5Head move :D
Press pause and watch 0:00, it's perfect frame, i press like-button on it))))
Man I LOVE this game but the biggest downside to me personally is I get one tapped by dudes fully kitted 300 meters out with dank optics on their assault rifles or snipers which is FINE but it takes the joy outta fire fights for me like IF I'm gonna die I wanna at least exchange a few rounds but meh it's a smol thing I suppose.
Imagine being the dude going to woods like "alright get some quests done, do some sniping, get quick loot and dip" only to be killed by pest who's making an informative video on the loot run you were probably about to do for yourself lmao
went to woods with all my best gear at like level 15, sv98 suppressed with a "nice" scope, djeta helm, kurend armor? i think? mechanism backpack, went and started looting stashes on the edge of the map being careful of some of the closer spawns to me, was going to find a sniping spot and snipe 5 more scavs for quest and get out, somehow got shot in the eyes by 7.62 PS ammo, frame by frame i watched my death and never saw the guy. 10/10 terrified of woods now
@@M1N3RDOM you might've ran into the sniper scav territory, if there is a target sign then that means beyond that is the sniper scav territory, I might be wrong that's what killed you but it's a possibility
@@M1N3RDOM also djeta is a really shit tier helm, don't use that
Might as well not use the helmet. Djeta is useless
Get yourself a kiver helm with faceshield brother, cheap enough and the faceshield does save lives.
This man: *finds Gzhel and Ulach in a stash*
Me: Pineapple juice and US ammo
Looting is a skill and the higher it is the more valuable stuff you will find. You need to take everything with you even if you dont need it. Throw it out later for more valuable stuff.
that is good...i find screws and cords! and...maybe few bullets!!
@@stefanManiak262011 screws and cords and all that are worth A LOT with 2 cords (now 20k each on flea), lvl1 workbench and 2 hours of crafting time, you will get 8 wires which sell 12k each or more, the price jumps from 10k to 15k
the most common screws bolts and common barter items are worth quite a bit on the flea market
@@LDZMarder According to wiki, the Attention skill increases your chance of discovering the better item first. So in the case of this video, the armor would have simply appeared first. It does not mean you find more valuable stuff. At elite levels, there's a chance the item is instantly discovered. escapefromtarkov.gamepedia.com/Attention
@@LDZMarder All loot is spawned at the start of the raid and is the same for all players.
