1:00:24 "We're back with Kentucky STOMPING Baylor" lmfao...I remembered hearing that when me and my dad watched this live and laughing our asses off. I've been looking for this game off and on for the past few years so I could hear it again and I've finally found it XD
Terrence Jones was an absolute monster this game, not for scoring lots of points but for being the ULTIMATE teammate! He set up nearly every awesome sequence of this game for Kentucky.
Baylor took advantage of a broken bracket - they only had to beat three double-digit seeds (14, 11, 10) to get to this point. Not that there's anything wrong with that since they don't control who wins the other games but they hadn't exactly faced a tough road that would have prepared them for this Kentucky juggernaut.
Walter it really wouldn't have mattered who played Kentucky in that bracket no matter the seed! Duke was that regions' number 2 , they had overachieved that season to be honest and it caught up to them against an experienced Lehigh team that played as a TEAM! I remember someone on a post a few years ago stating they thought Duke was gonna advance out of that '12 South regional and I remember responding "seriously, were you totally oblivious that Kentucky was in that bracket"! No one was gonna deny that Wildcat squad! Best team Calipari has had in his 30-plus years as a head coach! I'd put his '08 Memphis team at #2, but that '12 Kentucky team has been his pinnacle
In terms of seeding, sure maybe Baylor didn't face a top team that could've been a challenge. But the fact remains the same, no matter the opponent, Baylor did their job to get this far. Like other people said, they ran into a buzzsaw Kentucky team that probably would've won the region anyway. And that's also why this tournament is so entertaining, literally anything can happen.
Hard to believe that AD was like the fifth- highest scorer on this team. College Player-of-the-Year, but 5th on the team. He only cared about winning, not scoring.
Halftime couldn't get here quick enough for Baylor in this game. By then, the pounding that had been dished out to them by Kentucky in the 1st-half had Baylor feeling completely "DIS"ed. DISoriented, DISillusioned, DISrespected, and completely DISmantled. Many, myself included thought this Baylor team could've potentially been the only team left in the tournament that year that might match-up well with Kentucky athletically speaking, but boy I couldn't have been more wrong. Red-headed step-children get slapped around less than Baylor got slapped by Kentucky in this game. GO CATS!!
@@MrMashman93 , Answer me this my fellow Cat fan, how the hell old was Baylor's Quincy Acy when this game was played anyway? Hell-o-fuzzy, he looked 35+ if he looked a day!
@@GBeret83 He looked every bit of 40 when this game was played. Happy for Baylor winning the title this year. That 2012 team was not going to be denied!!!
@@MrMashman93 That 2012 Kentucky team, hands down, is the best of the last 20 years, and to be honest, the best since 1995 UCLA! And I would put them in my all-time Top 10 since I started watching the sport regularly in 1980-81!

Was a ball boy for this game. Great memories!

I'm happy Scott Drew goes his championship this year. Great coach
Marcus Teague is my favorite player of the Calipari era for some reason.
Really? That's random.

I mean, someone had to play Kentucky from that side of the bracket. Xavier might have lost even worse. Baylor was not a bad team that year.

When AD went down early in 2nd half I was very nervous about the rest of tournament. That looked bad.

One wonders if Kidd-Gilcrest had any idea that he would wind up living in Oklahoma City back in 2012.
I don’t think AD was hurt as bad as he was looking lol 😂 I think he loves the attention 😂 a little bit too
Yea because you feel what he does when he gets hurt.
What do you mean just a hard foul. It was so hard they should have called the police and arrested him for mugging.
Awesome game great team GO CATS!!!!!! SO GLAD THEY BEAT UP BAYLOR LOL
