    KU fan here...Kentucky and Carolina were by far the best two teams this year. UNC's unfortunate injuries put us in the right place. Their knock down shooters were lost and most importantly, the college game's most prolific point guard. They still could have beaten the rebuilt KU team handily.The ultimate match would have been a healthy UNC V. UK in the final. But that is how it goes sometimes.I hated watching Cuse in 2003 beat KU in Roy's final year when we were without Simien.

  • @QuantumOppenheimer

    I'm a born and raised my whole life Kentucky Wildcat fan, 54 years old now, so let's just say I've seen UK & UNC go at it a bunch of times over the years. Rarely ever in my lifetime, no matter if the game has been in Rupp Arena, the Dean Dome, on a neutral site during the regular season, or in the NCAA Tournament have these two programs met that the game isn't a slug fest from start to finish. This game was no exception, and that's the way as a fan you expect it to be among two of the elite, blue blood programs of college basketball. GO CATS!!

They are the bluest of the blue bloods. I think ranking them in order would be 1a. UK, 1b UNC, 3. UCLA, 4. KU, 5. Duke, 6. Louisville, and 7. Indiana. right time. We would have been at LEAST a 7 point favorite, which is HUGE for a title game. Again yes UNC COULD have won, but considering all of the advantages you had in the first game and how our teams improved throughout the year its easy to see why UK would have been the heavy favorite. Plus whenever UK plays their is no neutral floor. Our fans outnumber others in neutral court games by a very wide margin.

Yeah players used to go out of high school into the NBA, but how many actually made an impact in their first 5 games? Lebron James, thats it. Yeah Davis and them would have went straight to the NBA but that is based on POTENTIAL. None of them would have pulled a Lebron and made an impact in the first 5 games, or the year

    ... no other school has openings like that every year. About his system. His first year he ran an inside out game for Cousins and Wall. The 2nd year he changed to the dribble handoff/pick and roll or pop for Knight who was a great shooting point guard. This year it was pick and roll with the dribble drive and flex cuts. He tweaks for players strengths. Most coaches have a system they stick with regardless. Example is Bo Ryan of Wisconsin or Rick Pitino.

    two of the most historic programs in history...next year's match-up will be interesting that's for sure! I hate that Kentucky gets all of the top recruits, but give UNC a year or two and they will be right at the top. Can't say I care for the one and done system, but if it works, it works.

      I'm from Brazil, and in my bucket list one of the items is "Kentucky - Rupp Arena"
      How many years I have to wait to get a ticket?

      Otávio Ferreira there’s really know way to know because of how COVID-19 is affecting tickets to sporting events rn. It’s easy to get tickets to a game though. I usually go to at least 1 game a year because I love 2 and a half hours away from Rupp arena.

    Kidd-Gilchrist the mvp of this game tbh. UNC was killing Kentucky on the glass except for MKG and he fueled their second half run with his work around the basket on both ends.

    against a UNC team that had ALREADY played together for OVER a year and NONE of the UNC players were freshman or raw. They KNEW how to play with each other already. UNC still did not beat a UK team full of freshman in there 5th game ever. Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose came in as freshman playing with VETERAN players around them. The UK team did not have that. They were ALL young without experience. If UNC could not beat them THEN, how could they beat them at the end of the year?

    Man this was a great UNC team. McAdoo, Bullock and Hairston off the bench! Would have loved to see a finals rematch of this game! Epic Final! Then Marshall goes down with the broken wrist,...sad day

    I wasn't talking about UNC. Of course UNC's produced tons of pros. And MJ would've succeeded no matter where he went. He was that talented.

    This goes to show you how great a team UNC was this season. To go into that environment and lose by a point. If we had only met on a neutral court....

    It seems like he has gotten progressively worse lol Thats not really fair because he had way to much hype coming into college, just like Barnes. I cant wait for our game in December. We should always play each other. The top 2 programs of all time going head to head. You guys could certainly beat us in Chapel Hill and make some serious noise in March. Good luck.

  • @26michaeluk
    @26michaeluk 12 лет назад

    Exactly. UK won the title. One was a buzzer beater to a sweet 16 team in our players first ever away game. Plus its not so much that it was Butler, it was because of HOW badly the beat up on UNC. Up by 30 at one point. That should NEVER happen to UNC. About rank, UK is widely considered the greatest program of all time. Personally I think its UK 1a and UNC 1b.

  • @26michaeluk
    @26michaeluk 12 лет назад +1

    We lost by seven and this is THIS year. Last year that Duke team beat you in Chapel Hill. Way to leave that out. Duke is ranked 2nd THIS year. It was our players second game ever in college. No shame in that loss. Its not so bad that you lost to Butler, its BAD when they are up by 30 points! You are UNC, that should NEVER happen.

  • @26michaeluk

    Uh yeah look at the results. 4 straight number 1 classes, 2 straight final fours, national championship, 2 of the last 3 top draft picks, 5 guys drafted in the first round for the first time. I would say its pretty legit. At UK they get to start, play on national tv more than any other school, most passionate fan base. They play with a coach who DOES NOT hold them back and changes his offense to accomadate players strengths instead of playin the same system like most coaches do

    UK fans have to admit that UNC play pretty well if you factor in that we went to San Diego, than back home, than back to Vegas, than back to Kentucky. UK is the toughest place to play, and we only lost by 1. That's about as good of a loss as you'll get.
