Guys like John Wall & Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight & Doron Lamb, Aaron & Andrew Harrison, & De'Aaron Fox & Molik Monk may have all been bigger, more athletic, and in some cases quicker guards. But as far as having a brilliant, head up at all times looking up the floor, as smart they came at running the point at the collegiate level, Calipari hasn't to date yet recruited a smarter or more well rounded guard to run the point at Kentucky than was Tyler Ulis. And even though the 2012 team won the National Title, given the choice of having Marcus Teague or Tyler Ulis run the point for me, I take Tyler Ulis running, seven days a week and twice on Sunday, and I don't look back! GO CATS!!
Ulis was amazing PG. I remember watching his 8th grade youtube video where he was flashing his ball handling and saying he is going to play for UK. And he did.
Man we shouldn't have beat Wisconsin the year before in the tournament cause that loss is what gave them the fire to take away our #9 & undefeated season. Uk basketball hasnt been the same since.
At 1:26:45, for the next few seconds, right after the missed first free throw, listen to what the backboard microphone picks up some fan saying. Says, "You shoot like shit, make the free throws." Karl-Anthony Towns made the second one though. Must have heard the man yell that from the bleachers.
