It's incredible the amount of information you've been able to share with this series. Clean editing. You are a terrific guitar player also. You gave joy to Landau fans all-over the world. We are waiting a series on Jimmy Herring
Ah man, that's real nice of you. Thanks a lot. I'm looking forward to getting back to making full-length episodes again once I have a little time free up. Thanks again for the kind words!
this is a FANTASTIC series! Please have more of these! Also, wonderful playing. My Atomic Amplifire is arriving today and I'm surely going to dial-in Landau tones tonight. Thank you for providing all so much useful information on Landau's history and tone.
Richard, this is another fantastic video! I had really been looking forward to this and it's as great as I'd hoped. You have such amazingly-good ears, man.
Rich, just another marvelous video! Truely deep and compreehensive video about Michael's career, tone, gear etc.! And you're right: he had done some splendid works with Italian musicians, like Eros Ramazotti and Vasco Rossi, for example. I've just heard a solo recently that seems to be played by Michael, and not by Stef Burns, on a beautiful song by Vasco Rossi called "Gli Angeli". Such an amazing solo, with some peculiar things that, for my ears, belongs to Michael, like the incomparable way he has to "strech" the note on a bend, "extracting" a lot from only one note, do you know what I mean? Jeff Beck does something similar, but on a different way. On Beck's "Emotion & Commotion", for instance, you can hear unbelieveable things he does with only one note, specially from natural harmonics with whammy bar!
Yeah man, there's some great stuff with Eros. I must check out Vasco Rossi too! Mike's definitely got a kind of 'sonic signature' where you can spot him a mile off. Same thing with Shawn Tubbs! Glad you liked the video- thanks for the nice comment as always man. Hope all is good, Hélio!
Loving this Richard! I wish you had published the full cover version you did of the “Goodbye Guiding Light” cover from Burning Water. One of my absolute favorites from that act. There are no lesson/covers of of that BW work really online (minus tiny tiny little bits), but you killed it! Great work
Awesome series Richard! This week you won the Internets, as far as I am concerned. BTW, "Americana Boy" was not included in original issue Tales From The Bulge (1990), but was firtst included in (maybe) 1996 reissue as bonus track. Please consider featuring Alan Murphy in this series, he'd deserve more recognition. Cheers from Finland and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the info man! I didn’t know that. And yes, I’ll certainly consider covering Alan Murphy in the future as I agree he doesn’t get enough recognition. Glad you’re enjoying the videos!
great job Richard! I'm also a big fan of Mike and can't wait for another video about his music and gear. too bad u didnt play that ending solo from Goodbye guiding light. :)
I'd love to have, man! It was just a time thing really as I didn't want to have to push this episode back any more, other work keeps getting in the way! There should be one more episode on Mike. Thanks for the comment.
You Sir should have waaaay more subscribers, you are very cool at this stuff. Please do a Landau on the 2006 Live album, Underwear version is the best blues rock style tune I’ve ever heard.. can’t figure out his chords! Keep it up.
Thanks Geoff- I really appreciate that, man! I will be looking at that album for sure so I'll check out 'Underwear' and try to include it. The next episode will be on Dann Huff but will be returning to Mike after that. Thanks again for the nice comment.
Cool video! Thanks Richard! Question for anyone out there.......at 4:43 i the video, there is a shot of mike's little rack beneath 2 Boogie heads......There is a PCM41 in that rack, but what are the other 2 units in that rack? Cheers! :)

@@RichardWatson thank you very much brother 🙏
you should do a Session Heroes:Steve Lukather
Working on it! Next episode is on Luke!
very cool! been searching for a black tyler for a while. JP or usa?
It's a USA model- I was lucky in that I managed to pick one up in the UK before the prices almost doubled. Great guitars though!
Cool! I`m a Landaufan myself. Used to hang out at Hugeracjsinc.com. I`m in the prosess of building my own late 80s/early 90s rack at the moment.
What pedals are you using at 2:43?
That's the Fulltone Deja Vibe. Might have been using the Animal OD from Rockett Pedals too.
Dem cleans...
Thanks B-unit!
Do you give Skype lessons?
Hey man! I'll have some availability in January!
@@RichardWatson thanks, man! that may work for me. How can we discuss times and price?
@@tylertribby5806 No worries! Drop me an e-mail to: deadwoodmusic@live.co.uk and we'll see what works!
