There are these guitarists who make the difference. Michael Landau, Jeff Beck, David Torn, Adrian Belew, Bill Frisell... All virtuous musicians who tell stories with their instruments. Not showing off the speed ability they all have, but dosing well with good taste for sound and love for the music they play. I'm a blessed fan of all of them!! Hardly ever mentioned the beautiful work Michael did for Joni Mitchell. It was through her I got to know Michael Landau
They're too many... Jimi Hendrix, Dann Huff, Jay Graydon, Steve Lukather, Larry Carlton, David Gilmour, Eddy Van Halen, Matteo Mancuso, Mateus Asato, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, John Abercrombie, Al Di Meola, John mcLaughlin &.. ME!:)
Hands down my one of thee best recording guitarist. I've learned so much from listening to him and trying to achieve his use of tones and ambience among others things. Seeing his hands is very enlightening. Very kind of him to let us all get a little glimpse into his world. Many thanks for the videos Mike. You are truly inspiring!
This makes me smile again in 2023. great tune great inspiration amazing player. its getting better all the time.. Ive put 2 Beatles intros and Vince Guraldi over the intro which I found myself. Thats the whole idea Improvise let whats in you flow out.. Thanks Michael Landau for sharing this helps to see how its really done Teach a Man to fish so he can fly.....
To have your own unique guitar style and voice is priceless, to have the voice that everyone likes is a blessing .. Mike Landau to guitar playing is what Morgan Freemen is to acting and speaking , great and impossible not to love..
One of the goat. What/where is this video from? Is that his home studio? Love the mountain of pedals…that robben tune came out early/mid 2000’s i think so must be from that time? God when he digs in with the pick after all the beautiful finger picking its like bam-thats what killer dynamics on an electric guitar sposed to sound like.
Just found you thru Jeff McErlain"s lesson on your 5 storks and these are very fresh sounds from the guitar that I've been missing for some time. Wonderful.
How do you think of something that cool??? That whole tune (I’m Buzzed) is just brilliant. Anyone know the exact model number of that Arion Chorus pedal?
He's a human for sure. Absolutely awesome. I was at his show early and he grabbed his guitar, sat next to me and warmed up his fingers. Just started chatting about life with me out of no where. Great guy
That tone, feel and sophistication, absolutely incredible.
My words exactly, Great sound
The guitar solo in Angelia with Richard Marx was incredible!!

His tone is so tremendous I almost can't even take it, but I can also swim in it. Glorious tone, I'd call it.

5 bags of Strings and throw in a couple fuzz pedals.

That whole tune (I’m Buzzed) is just brilliant.
Anyone know the exact model number of that Arion Chorus pedal?
He's now using a Vertex Chorus which is based of the Arion chorus pedal with more features..
Necesito subtitulos man 😢😢😢
Tranks Man!
Does anyone know which humbucker is that one?
Pablo Martins I’m not sure... could be Lindy Fralin hot retro. I bought it one because of him years ago😅
alex alba awesome man!
Probably suhr ssv... He likes that one.
I think he just might be the best guitarist alive (besides jeff beck that is).
And what of dark horse Robben Ford?
R u serious
Does he have a Fender pick?medium?
I guess 7:00 at least hints at the fact he may be human.
Nah. It's what he wants you to think. He just threw that in there. He is a super-alien allright.

Does anyone care about copyright here? Just curious...
That guitar sounds heavenly...of course the fact it's being played by Landau has a little to do with it...lol
Is there backing tracks for these?
Nope, you'll have to loop, ditto looper is good
First thing he's playing to is called "Five storks"
thanks Mr, good track! Just found Mike and searching for his best things
he must mean A phrygian which is F major
MICHAEL LANDAU ? IT IS THE ONE FROM THE LITTLE HOUSE IN THE PRAIRIE ?
That is Landon not Landau.
No he’s on mission impossible
only cooking with water....nice.
need a newer rig rundown for mike.. he has changed it up a bit since this.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆😅😅😅
That's just so fkn tasty
anyone know where this is from?
Cring0r what are you talking about?
Sounds little bit of Larry carlton
No offense to him, but really almost all he sounds like is a little bit of a lot of great guitarists. I wonder is he in there somewhere himself?
Damn. he must go through some fukken D batteries. I don't see a single 9volt power chord.
