I'm currently testing a game mechanic, but it appears to be true. Once you fill your board, tab over to "My School" and cycle down to "Playing Time". The banner on the right sets the grade for the prospects on your board and it DOES NOT match their recruiting ranking. It sorts by their grade and their grade is based on overall. So, even without scouting, I have been able to identify 3-stars who have a higher overall than 5-stars.
@@cvillain2677 1) Are they gems when you scout them? 2) Do they have overalls to match? Caveat, if you have a starting RG that is a 66, it would only take a 67 to make A+.
I am a bit confused as to the main message of the video. At first I thought it was going to be who/when to scout. You showed all of these 3star guys that turned into great players. So I anticipated being shown what to look for when deciding on who and when to scout. But then you showed how you mainly recruit 5 star guys.
We are glad that you are finding success with our content. We have one more recruiting video coming out that we believe will be the final touch to being the best recruiter in all of the game! We appreciate you and those like you greatly!
I personally scout 3 star QBs when I have a bad program. I am looking for the athletes with high speed and TP. I figure they can develop later into top tier QBs. Plus easier to user.
Speed is king. Same goes for deep threat WR/Ath. Find the 98+ spd receiver to go with that scrambler QB/Ath, and you are set at the skill positions. You can generally convert them to HBs at higher ratings, too.
I wouldnt necessarily scout 5/4 star. Since they will no doubt be good. I would scout 2-3 Stars to find the Gems. So a 3 star may be a 4 Star and a 2 star may be a 3 star. Or find the bust, so a 3 star may be a 2 star and 2 star being a 1 star. But I feel like scouting 5 stars is a waste of hours.
Yeah, you actually scout neither if you're not at least a 4-star school Your only time to scout as a trash school is in the offseason, once the year begins is when you're just burning hours Unless you're Bama or Georgia you should only want to scout 3-star prospects during the regular season.. A 3-star bust is drastically different than a regular or gem, whereas regardless of tier 4 & 5 star busts are going to still have a place on a 1-2 star school
Agreed. I don’t think I’ll ever scout 5 stars. Even if they are “busts” they are still 4 stars, and I’ll want them even when my team is hopefully really good in the future. Right now as a 1.5 star program I have the same thinking with 4 stars, but once I get good I may feel the need to scout 4 stars. As I get into recruiting 3 stars primarily to fill team needs I scout. Even on a bad team 3 star busts (2 stars) probably will not see the field
just got my first 5 star recruit at coastal carolina, lesssgoooooo i used this method and it worked!! and right after that, i got a INSTACOMMIT 4 stars!!! still havent played my first game yet for the season, his methods work work work work work work
I would say if you’re a small school with low hours it’s probably not worth it to use your hours to scout but if you’re a major school with a lot of hours definitely scout
I rebuilt coastal carolina in 3 years with a similar method. I would only go after 4 star and 3 star athlete gems. I spent the time scouting just finding gems, and then brought them in. Redshirt them all, and switch their positions around. Heres the thing, they all have a better dev trait because their gems. Then they get better abilities, and after that redshirt year, they turn into those 4 to 5 star players in their freshman year, with better abilities, and higher dev traits. Making them better than those 5 stars or 4 starts you might scout. But i do like this method.
Love the videos great tips helped me take ball state to the playoffs in year 2! If you play the games I love using the search feature to find the 6’3-6’-6” Deep Threat WR and converting them to TE. 97 speed at TE should be illegal. But it’s not. Plus, unlike in Madden their blocking develops quite nicely. Can’t wait for the playbooks!!!
I recruited a 5* Center than ended up being a 62 OVR. However, he jumped up to 77 (moved him to guard) as a Soph. But 3* developing in to 90+ (as the norm) means the development sliders need to be lowered. JMO, but I don't feel as excited about recruiting a 5* if I know a 3* can end up being a beast for me anyway. Kind of takes the excitement away from landing that big time recruit. JMO And thank you for the videos, my recruiting skills have improved greatly from watching them. I just landed two 5* in my second year with Buffalo last night. One of them was a 5* green gem with 99 speed.
@@wscottwalters74 I agree 100%, I was just saying that in CF25, a "Bust" 5* isn't necessarily dropped down no lower than a 4*. Mine dropped down to 2-3* territory. Which is also perfectly fine with me. That makes the risk of going after a "Bust" 5* not necessarily worth it. It's more a risk, which I'm ok with.
I could have the wrong theory but if I’m at the beginning of a rebuild with a bad team. Any 4 or 5 star I can get im taking them and not worried about scouting. It matters to me once you got the points to spend and the talent to pick from
Nice! So what I'm hearing is, DON'T spend the 500 hours scouting, but rather recruiting players? I freaked my first season when i was recruiting a physical WR and he was number one for me, but then i scout him a bit mid season and he's a 84 speed?! Guess i could move him to TE, but still 😂

Need an in depth video on what coach abilities to spend on. To me the pipeline boosts are the best bang for buck but not sure if I should throw in some of the things that don't have to do with recruiting and help make your current players better
Please help me out even if it's just a few sentences typed here. I can't get over an 86 overall team on my rebuilds. I'm 6 years in and 4 national titles in and my players are not progressing. I loaded up the motivator tree on the top half and got several architect (which I'm now convinced does very little). I'm seriously getting annoyed with winning and not seeing my team progress. I've done this with FIU and SDSt fwiw.
I’m hearing different things about the Gem/Bust. Some are saying it’s their developmental trait and some say it means, it they’re a 5 star bust they’re actually a 4 star. Looking for some more clarity.
I may be wrong but I believe recruiting skills stack. So if your head coach has level 4 in a recruiting stat that gives you 65 hours. Then if your offensive coordinator has that skill as well you can get to 85. May be wrong but I’ve been able to give 80 hours and the only thought I had was because my ofc had that skill as well
Only thing is that 5 stars would never realistically entertain going to Kent State or any other 1 star school. I usually don’t recruit those type of players till I’m at least a 3 star school.
Good argument. IDK I just wonder if you limit the scouting to 4 and 3 stars with high interest (which isn't many to start) I feel like that might be better than scouting the 5 stars. Interesting to know the gray gem isn't that bad. I have been knocking off a star mentally.
