- Wrong Speak Publishing founder Adam B. Coleman says the “bubble world” of academia is covering for Australian Olympic breakdancer Rachael Gunn.
A petition has launched online calling for breakdancer Rachael ‘Raygun’ Gunn as well as Australia’s Olympic Committee’s Anna Meares to publicly apologise for Raygun’s awful Olympic performance.
Mr Coleman has branded Australian Olympic breakdancer Rachael Gunn’s performance as “very goofy”.
“They will applaud her for her efforts when the Olympics is not about giving it your best effort, it’s about winning,” Mr Coleman told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“From what I can tell, it doesn’t feel like meritocracy - looking at the qualifiers that led for her to end up there.”

Hello. American here who was around when breakdancing first came out. What she did (and what her husband was doing) is not breakdancing. Mindlessly flopping about as if they’re having a seizure is what they are doing. Oh, yes, I can be very critical of her. She is NOT one of the best dancers. She is, in fact, one of the worst.

The IOC already decided in December 2022 that breakdancing would no longer be part of the 2028 event. However, after this lame performance, they must have felt validated in their decision.

I’m not defending her but fact is there were no Australian judges on the judging panel for the Australian Olympic qualifier. I do agree that something is a bit fishy just like her sports star of the year award she received yet she hasn’t competed in Australia at all in 2024.

@@richardb8492 Correct, she didnt start the Ausbreaking association, and her husband wasnt a judge in the qualifier, He husband is only her coach. The qualification process was very flawed and seems it was rigged as well. In the last 5 years the Australian female competitors have placed in the bottom 10% in the breaking world championships, so it is clear their skill level is very low compared to the rest of the world, however the World DanceSport Federation thought it was a good idea to have some representation from Ocenia, the geographical area that has been consistently the worst in the last 5 years. So in that regard the qualifying process was flawed, in every other sport in the olympics, the top ranked in the world are the ones that qualify to the Olympics. In addition to that the date and the location of the qualifier was never communicated, the website for the qualifier is still up and it shows as date and location as TBD. Only a handful of people knew the details about the qualifier. When it was first announced, over 50 B-girls in Australia pre-register, but only 8 actually showed up to the qualifier as most of them didnt have the right information.

Despite never having anything to do with break dancing, DanceSport Australia found itself in charge of break dancing qualification for the Australian Olympic team. So they get in contact with RayGun, a self-proclaimed break dancing expert who has a PhD in break dancing. Raygun knows exactly what to do - partner with the Australian Breaking Association and they will run the qualification round. But the Australian Breaking Association was founded by RayGun and her husband! It has about 20 members. Unsurprisingly, they run a qualifier that gets 15 entrants and RayGun is selected as the women’s entrant and her husband gets appointed as the team coach!....NEEDS INVESTIGATING IF THIS IS THE CASE ….WE NEED ANSWERS!

Most of what you said it is not true. World DanceSport Federation is the governing body for breaking around the world and DanceSport Australia is the local entitiy for this Federation in Australia. Like in any other sport, the local entity for the sport Federation it is in charge of the qualifier, in the case of swimming for example the local entities of World Aquatics are the ones in charge of the local and regional qualifiers. DanceSport Australia partnered with Ausbreaking since Ausbreaking is affiliated to DanceSport Australia. This is a complete normal process, Ausbreaking runs the qualifiers for the breaking world championship every year in Australia. Neither Raygun nor her husband are the founders or work for Ausbreaking. However the qualifier was incrediby flawed, the Australian female competitor have consistenly placed in the bottom 10-15% in the breaking world championship every year for the last 5 years, it is pretty clear the skill level in Australia is very low but still the world dancesport federation thought it was a good idea to send someone from that region to the Olympics. The other part that was suspiscious about the qualifier was that only a handful of competitors showed up, even more suspicious is the fact that some competitors claim that the infomation about the qualifier wasnt publicly available and only a handful of people knew the details.

A PhD is a "Doctor of Philosophy" or the philosophical/theory of a subject and is awarded to someone who has proven competent in a subject to be considered an expert... so yes she is a Doctor. She still sucks donkey balls at practicing what she is considered an expert in... but when it comes to the "theory" she knows her stuff... unfortunately many PhD people are like this... they can quote the textbook, in fact some may have even written the textbook, but when it comes to actually performing whatever they preach they have no clue...

Us teachers are usually proud when our students go on to do great things. We don’t decide to go do it ourselves after we’ve passed our prime. Don’t put that evil on us, lol
