Nice! Im doing my PPL right now on a P2008. The one i use only has the rotax 912, you really have to pay attention on the fuel weight when the instructor takes up the second seat. But the lessons are much more affordable than the alternatives in the school (C152, C172). And on top its super good looking.
Beautiful aircraft. I am partial to high wings and this has the lineage of the early Cessna 140, 172 straight back, it is clean and slippery. Would like 200 lbs more useful load. Full tank, full seats is a nice way to fly. I am going to say it, this is a sexy looking rig for a high wing pilot.
The light sport rules are expected to change in the next year or so. The modernization act is expected to increase the weight limit, speed, constant speed prop and allow for four seaters to be used by light sport pilots. Still only one passenger though. Also remember that the tecnam does have higher weight for this aircraft, they had to lower the numbers on paper to get the plane in the light sport arena.

They make some fun airplanes and very good looking. Except that twin engine is a little different to look at. But I can imagine it’s top-quality just like the rest of their products I mean how cool is twin Rotaxes. A cool twin burning about 10 gallons an hour total is extremely efficient
Great video. I am training in a 172. But in march k am going to tenerife on vacation. I am going to take a training flight over there and that school useses the tecnam 2008. I am 6ft 6 so i appreciate you showing the interior. I will fit just fine in the 2008. Again thanks for the great video.

I’ve spent many hours flying in this model aeroplane for my Microlight Certificate. So whilst I agree that it is a pretty aeroplane, if you are 6’ or over the visibility out of the side windows is seriously compromised. I find myself staring at the door frame when flying it, I’ve checked with other guys and they have exactly the same problem with the Tecnam P2008.
A lot of people seem to confuse light sport aircraft and light sport pilot. A light sport pilot is restricted to light sport regulations. Like no IFR. No night flight. Speed limitations. Altitude limitations. A light sport aircraft is only limited by what it is outfitted with. If you have a light sport plane that is set up for IFR then you can fly IFR just the same as a GA aircraft with the same equipment. The only difference is since it is labeled as a light sport aircraft that enables somebody with a light sport license to now fly it. I personally fly a light sport but I do so with a current medical and private license. So my limitations are now set the same as they would be in a GA aircraft. Just wanted to point that out. Sometimes the way things get worded people get confused and think you can’t do certain things with a light sport plane even if you have a medical and fly as a private pilot or higher.
Unfortunately there is zero head room. They should have made this a cantilever wing like their bravo. As is, in the p2008 I have to duck down to look out the side windows.
The truth about the P2008: Two People, and you can fill the tank only 3/4, less with lugage. The manufactoring quality is extremly bad. After a few month for example most of the stitches in the stylish seats are gone, sticker fall off, levers stick. Under an OAT of 10 °C the heating system is to weak. If You are taller than 1,82 Meter, your Head will touch the ceiling. The seats are very thin upholstered, so after half an hour your butt hurts.
They will not have a chance against the NEW BRISTELL HIGH Wing for 2020. Lol. I am selling my kids to be ready to buy one. Just kidding! No children, but I did start building new houses to get the money to buy one.
Thanks Mike - Another great video. I know you're Sling guy and I'm a fan. Sling LSA or Tecnam Astore. Two-place, low wing, sliding canopy, 5 gph. That's my deal. I've looked at all your vids and you cover them both... which one is Best? It looks like the build quality of the Astore is better, but is it? Do either of them have a deal-breaker for you? I'm short, I need to reach the rudder pedals *AND* see over the dash. Is one better for me in this regard? Thanks for all you do - it means a lot to us.

looseparts I’d take the Astore personally. You just can’t beat the fit and finish and the handling qualities are wonderful as are the Sling’s. I’ve only flown the Sling 4 and TSi though.

I fly on P2008JC mk2 and it also has only the power lever - nothing more there.
tecnam makes some good stuff, wish they would take their twin and let her rip that thing is so under powered should be 300kt aircraft
