Steve is 'informed' by BBC News, which is why he can't recognise the truth when he sees it, even if it's a photograph of the Azov Battalion Nazis being supported by NATO.
@@SocksWithSandals Incorrect. I don't watch any BBC news. I 'inform' myself by paying close attention to alternative sources that portray the real truth. It's just that I completely disagree with your suggestion that Ukraine was illegally invaded for the second time due to the actions of the Azov battalion. Furthermore, I have never seen any evidence that NATO had any involvement in supporting Azov but there is plenty of Russian propaganda that says otherwise. Being an ethnic Russians doesn't entitle them to occupy Ukraine. Just because Putin sanctioned flooding the eastern regions of Ukraine with pro Russians that refuse to speak the Ukrainian language but more disgustingly insist that they speak Russian only. That is the pure definition of Nazism. This was the beginning of the hybrid type war that is now so prolific today on the Polish/Belarus border and has ramped up significantly now on the Finnish/Russian border since Finland has thankfully joined NATO.
If I was nearer, I would do it for you but I’m miles away. You really need to unscrew the roof vent. Take it completely off. Clean off the old sealant Put the new sealant round like sick of flex or what you bought and then put the vent back on because it’s gonna be a long winter, lots of rain you need it to last.
The wooden frame that the skylight screws in to will most likely be rotten. Take the sky light off. You will be able to clean the roof from the inside of the van. Cover the hole with something and tape that down for now while you rebuild the wooden frame and clean the skylight. Rebuild with sealer of your choice. When finished I would still put the flash banding on for extra protection.
@@SocksWithSandals plus one here totally agree you should take the skylight out give it a damn good clean to remove the old sealant from the roof. If you're not bothered about the ventilation as you have another skylight anyway and windows one option would be to remove the skylight I'm replace it with a slightly larger piece of clear polycarbonate, that would allow far more light in and can just be bonded directly to the roof. You may even be able to find a suitable piece of polycarbonate at work?
@@CraigDavies. Exactly what I was getting at 👍 The battened frame will be rotten and no matter how much gunge is slopped on the outside it will not cure the fact that the rooflight is not screwed down to anything. It is relatively easy to do the job properly and forget that it was ever a problem! The stuff that Tim is buying will still only work properly if the rooflight is secured in the first place. Just as you have said, remove the rooflight, clean all and make a new wooden frame. The sealer to use is 'caravan mastic tape' as it is exceptionally flexible, sticky and this environment is exactly what it's made for. Another plus factor is that although it is slightly more labour intensive, it would be a far cheaper and permanent solution. It's 4 x battens and a roll of mastic tape 👍👍

@@SocksWithSandals Why are you so harsh with your replies? I've been a long time follower after a friend sent me your way. I quite enjoy your videos, but every time I comment you seem quite defensive, as if I'm taking the piss. I am sorry, Rees, I was without my reading glasses. Yes, you're absolutely right and I apologise that I failed to read your comment accurately. Been a bit jaded with the negativity recently that I don't recognise an encouraging comment when I see one.
