I've heard of this band, but never heard their music ,until this vid. What a beautiful sound, great band. It's great to stumble into new sounds at least new sounds to me. The perfect guitar sound. Now I'm gonna have to add some new pedals to my pedal board.
The sound on this song has a throw back feel to it, a feeling of nostalgia. Really love the vibe in this performance, great use of sax in a song. The chord used at the top of the song at 2:02 just sold it for me. Not on the album so great improv.
@@rallemikken6936 I strongly disagree. "Later" always brings out the best performances. This one is much more atmospheric. Further, it features the excellent John Natchez on sax and Adam plays better on a better guitar. It's good to have the chance to make the comparison.
Michael tuohy A rare example of legendary music living on through the generations, I reckon if this was played in the 80s it would have been 100X more popular.
🎸2:58 Come and see Where are we This everything On my knees To beat it down To get to my soul I guessed my way Anyone can tell it's you coming But baby, don't mind Leave it on a lie Leave it your own way Come and ride away It's easier to stick to the earth Surrounded by the night Surrounded by the night And you don't go home But you abuse my faith Losing every time but I don't know where You're on my side again So ride the key wherever it goes I'll be the one, I can't, whoo! I personally found this song via Forza Horizon 2 (one of a few songs I've found via that game) - not the typical medium for me to discover music. That was three weeks ago. I reckon I've listened to this song at least once a day since then which says it all. I also wish I'd seen this performance on Jules Holland. There's something Springsteen about the sound of this.

The war on drugs did it, it has Pink Floyd quality without the Dark Gloomy vibe. I've been through too much shit to even listen to them. I need positive vibe.
One of the most underatted bands in the world.
Wow the dissonance is unreal . The thread has gone awry. Hark back to a time when things were and it just was.
@@jimaforwood743 Don't blame me pal, I was just along for the music. Can't speak for anyone else.
Not here mate
Absolutely
@@jimaforwood743 sgow
I've been listening to this gem for years and I still crying almost every time.
Same!
Unreal ain’t it
Has a Lindsay Buckingham flavour to his lead & rythem parts. Painting pictures with sound. Very talented bunch of lads. Love it!
Seen them twice in Manchester. Probably the best live band around at the moment. Adam is a great guitarist.
Great band, great song. I can stand hear this song all night long

The perfect guitar sound.

Listen to the album Lost in the Dream. It's an hour long of a beautiful sunset captured in a rock album. It feels surreal listening on road trips.
totally addicted to this piece of beauty!
Best band on the planet right now

Thats exactly how i feel about the whole album!! A real nostalgic feeling when listening to it!! :-D
Just heard about this band tonight, love their sound.
Everything sounds better on Jools. A cracking song.
Good, but not best. Check out the performance on KEXP.... ruclips.net/video/aJdx3BOOEjU/видео.html

Cuando suenas así de bien en directo es que tienes alma en tu música y en tu corazón !!!
Guerra contra las drogas !!!!
it really make sense when the baritone sax starts playing, great sound!
brilliant band best todays music
Great performance. Great Album.
Brings me to tears of joy this track ❤
shazamed song last night in pub played all day fantastic
Great band, getting better with each album, some top bands coming for the states Lo-Hi & cool as!!!!
Charlie Hall is some drummer. I mean he’s off the scale. That rhythm he’s keeping is unstoppable, wow. Even better with a smoke of something green 😂
Some red eyes
Shrooms 😊
Absolutely unreal drummer
Brilliant ,reminds me of dire straits when I hear guitar 🎸

Come and see
Where are we
This everything
On my knees
To beat it down
To get to my soul
I guessed my way
Anyone can tell it's you coming
But baby, don't mind
Leave it on a lie
Leave it your own way
Come and ride away
It's easier to stick to the earth
Surrounded by the night
Surrounded by the night
And you don't go home
But you abuse my faith
Losing every time but I don't know where
You're on my side again
So ride the key wherever it goes
I'll be the one, I can't, whoo!
You're all I've got to wait
You're running in the dark
When I come to my soul
Try and see it through the dark
It's coming my way
Well we won't get lost inside again babe
Am I right? no one sees you, anyone, around here waiting
They don't mind, they don't hear; I hear
For the best way-oh, you're mine, against it
I would keep you here, but I can't
Oh, I am trying to see the right, right way,
And I don't see it anywhere I go, yeah... woo!
She's on my side again
The easy way
I come to my soul
Walking in the downtown
Talk to my soul
They won't get lost inside again
On my way
I can see it the darkness coming my way
Well we're here
Don't get lost inside
Yeah you won't get lost inside at all
You're on my way
Woo!
Love this song! And that saxophone part followed by the guitar solo!!! 🤩
This song evokes the feeling of elation you get when something you were dreading gets cancelled
Another Jools classic love this band!
love love love
Fantastic. I keep coming back to this all the time.
Actually love this song 💜🙏
Maravillosa música siempre genios totales aguante el rock and roll
What an awesome piece of music
Yup! Their CD (Lost In The Dream) will be mine before the weeks out!
4 years later and still one of the best albums of this decade.
One of the few bands these days that I prefer to hear live, not sure why.
Incredible song either way.
80's Dylan voice, right there. Magic
The trouble with this band is you dont want to turn them off!
Can anyone tell me what this incredible song is about? It is mindblowing repetitive joy
I doesn’t get much better than this.
Love this soooo much! Great sounding voice (aka Dylan?) & what a guitar sound! Amazing....
this performance is so darn comfy
real classy rock
I fuckin love this band!
Perfect
Que hermosa música !
si eso es cierto
definitivamente emocionante
Fabulous!!
1:12 Is that David Gilmour?!!
Yep!
I will melt down for shyness!!
Brilliant
Prefer this version to the album version. The more visceral tone suits the song better in my opinion.
+ProfessorGrey Indeed.
The lead guitar reminds me of the soundtrack to Local Hero. And to me it sounds like a drum machine , at least at the beginning.
There's a drum loop playing throughout the song, yeah.
Uau...isso é mto bom!!!!
Christ. No pressure, that’s David Gilmour on the sidelines.
Ha jeez. Just realised!
Fine work !!!
Easily the highlight of the show
THAT SOLO IS SICK
It’s like Kings Of Leon meets early Dire Straits with Vance Joy writing the Lyrics 🤘🤘 class
maravilhoso
listening to a number of songs of theirs I can hear influences from Dire Straits, Pink Floyd and Bruce Springsteen
Andrew Fineberg and Brian Adams too
Don´t forget Bob Dylan
My favorite bands, so it makes sense why I love this band haha
Fab ❤️

Once a day? When I found this it was on repeat for weeks ;)
The drum beat had me going like I was on amphetamine xD
Drum beat is DEFINITELY better for you than amphetamine sir.... so *that's* a good thing!

+tobanias tobiasson this is so right
The energy on the record is way much higher and at 1:20 it ought to "bang" more.
Does anyone hear a vibe to this band that reminds me of the Waterboys.👊🏴🇬🇧
Only thing missing is Jools and his boogie woogie
glory be
drummer is like a fit Jimmy Fallon
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Why is this version so short? :(
