Spaghetti Bolognese - 5 minute dinner - Vegan

    3 cloves of garlic, chopped
    2 TB oil
    1 carrot grated
    1/2 red onion
    200 g oyster mushrooms, finely chopped
    pinch of salt
    4 TB of tamari sauce
    1 TB liquid sweetener (date sirup, agave sirup, maple sirup, honey)
    1 400 g tin of lentils, rinsed
    1 tin chopped tomatoes
    small bunch of basil
    season with salt and black pepper to taste
    sprinkle with nutritional yeast

      @@HuusHuus-zc2zl Exactly what I was saying. Onion or peppers do not cook down in 5 minutes. 15 minute meals are more realistic IMO

    We just made this for dinner, it was such a huge hit with my son and my husband. We love you guys so much and own several of your cookbooks for this reason. Your recipes are just pure magic and they hit every craving you never knew you had.

    Wow!!! i just made this. without the mushrooms (ew, mushrooms, lol). i added 2 sticks celery instead. this was AMAZING! my mother used to make (meat) spag bol every wednesday when i was a child, and it was awful; sloppy and just tasted of tomato. this is anything but sloppy. its so tasty. it took me about 15-20mins as im a super slow veg-chopper and i let the onion soften a little longer. i had some left over jacket potatoes so i had it over that and it was great, i think u could have this with any grain/carb. this is the 3rd "5 min dinner" ive made from these guys and theyve all been amazing and so easy!! cant believe i didnt find this channel sooner! thanks happy pear!

    Ok I decided to make this last night, wasn't expecting it, but was blown away! I used gluten free spaghetti instead of courgetti. The flavours combined make heaven in your mouth I'm telling you!!!

    Hi, Another amazing dish cooked this evening from Bosh all plants cookery book. Page 86, Spaghetti Bolognese and I was astonished how filling and tasty this meal was considering there was no vegan mince in it too. I will try your above You Tube video for the other variation to Spaghetti Bolognese next week. This book was well the money our son paid for me.     big fat omnivore from america here trying to make a difference in my diet... I subbed white onions instead of red, soy souce instead of tamari and black beans instead of lentils, left out the sweetener. Sprialized some zucchini... LOVED IT! plus, as I tally this as a 3 serving dish... it's around 260 (edited) calories per serving(most of that's the oil)!! Filling and tasty! Didn't add any of the almonds or nutritional yeast... will do that next time

      @@munestones6949 Zucchini noodles. They call it courghetti because they call zucchini courgettes. You make it with a tool called a spiralizer.

    You can do a simple vegan Spaghetti alla bolognese using mashed tomatos, onions and... chopped walnuts! You'll love it! I'm italian... I know how cook pasta! ;-)

    I get that using already cooked legumes is easier, but it is so much cheaper to buy dry ones. Can you show us how to prepare them if we buy them dry?

      Before using beans and legumes, you need to rinse them thoroughly under cool water. If you're using lentils, mung beans, or split peas you don't need to soak them overnight (you can cook them after rinsing them)
      Cannellini, chickpeas, Red kidney need to soak overnight.
      After soaking, drain the beans and rinse them thoroughly with clean water. Cook the beans until they are tender but not mushy (If you are using a pressure cooker, the cooking times will be significantly shorter),
      Salt can disrupt the cooking, so should not be added while soaking or during the first hour of cooking. just add salt a 5-10 minutes before they're ready.
