I can't find OLIWAX anywhere I'm in Canada is there some other ingredient I would use?
A good alternative would be emulsifying wax nf. Is that available in Canada?
@bettergrowth_ Yay, I got that lol so would I just heat it with my oils? Also, would I use the same amount you used for the oliwax. I make body oils a lot, and I have been trying to find a way to keep my mica from falling to the bottom

I think IPM will work well in it. Definitely test it out and see how you like the way it drys.

You have been sharing gems! I have been trying to find a formula that allows the micas to circulate throughout the oil. Thank you so much! Your other videos are so helpful also. Is there anything that can substitute the Oliwax lc?
You are so sweet! I'm glad you like the content! There are a few possible substitutes you could try. Here are some options: Glyceryl stearate, Olivem 1000, or Montanov 68
It's important to note that each of these substitutes may have slightly different properties and characteristics compared to Oliwax LC, so you may need to adjust your formulation and testing accordingly.

Thanks so much for watching! Im glad to helps! As far as, Oliwax LC and Olivem 1000. They are not the same. Oliwax LC is a liquid crystal emulsifier derived from olive oil. Olivem 1000, on the other hand, is a self-emulsifying wax derived from olive oil.

Hellooo!! Hope you're doing well! I have a very important question. When I make my bronzers the oil gets colored by the micas. I made a bronzer with pinkish and orange shimmer micas and when they set to the bottom the oil was orange!! Why do you think this happened?? Thank you ❤❤❤.
When you mix in the oils it more than likely will change the color of the oil because of the pigment. When I added in the oily wax it made the shimmer oil thicker and the micas barely settle down to the bottom.
How do you make your labels oil and water resistant for your body oil products?
Before I purchased my labels I compared their available labels and looked for labels that were water and oil resistant.

What if I want it more thick like creamy highlighter or more thick like lava from fenty ?

To make a shimmer oil waterproof, you can consider using a waterproofing ingredient. Silicone-based ingredients are often used for this, as they can create a water-resistant barrier. Dimethicone is a common waterproof ingredient used in cosmetics
Do u have to mix the mica? U can’t just use 10% and just added into the oil?.. I see that u mixed all three after u % up everything you add only 10% to the oils correct?
Yes, you can just add it. I mixed them because I had a few mica I wanted to mix together to make the right color I was looking for.

What can we substitute with for Isododecane
I don’t believe so it’s the main ingredient to decrease the transfer of the shimmer oil.
Is there a percentage for frangrance?
It depends on the fragrance you are planning to use. Check the usage rate on the fragrance you want to add.
Are you using regular coconut oil or fractionated.
Refined coconut oil
I understand the percentage of the micas but how much is the total grams to add to the total batch?
So if you were making 113.4g(4oz) of the shimmer oil and using 10% mica it would be 11.34grams of mica. The mica is 10% on the total body weight for the products.

None that would give you the quick drying effect of iso! Hope that helps☺️
@@bettergrowth_ I thought I had read somewhere arrow root powder can be used for a dry oil feel and not leaving the skin greasy? Have you heard of this?
I’m not 100% sure but most dry oils contain some sort of oil like derivative for the quick drying effect.

Yes 😝 it works great in body butter to greasy feel of it for sure lol
If I use oliwax LC will the micas forever stay afloat?
yes, Oliwax LC will help the mica to continue to suspend in the oil. Just keep in mind it will thicken the oil.

My oil started feeling grainy after a couple weeks what do you think happened
It’s possible that the shimmer particles in the body oil settled or clumped together over time, causing the grainy texture.
How do you prevent that from happening?
Could you use oliwax lc and polyamide-3 together?

The isododecane made my oil smell very chemically not sure what I did wrong 🥲
Interestingly, isododecane is essentially odorless, so this could be due to other ingredients you have added. Did you use Oliwax LC or a different thickener?
@@bettergrowth_ I used emulsifying wax, but It might have been the coconut oil that I used because it had quite a strong smell to it

Does this separate and shimmer falls to the bottle? Having that issue with them falling to the bottom and has to be shaken up.
