This real board series is such an amazing resource! As a person who was brand new to the game when I first discovered the channel you really gave me the tools I need to dissect the games myself. You are teaching the man how to fish and your passion and enthusiasm for the game is just awesome! Keep up the great work AND THANK YOU!!!
and the game you secretly have been waiting for, (due to it being hinted at in other Batt vids). Batt gets to gleefully show a pro take on the evil Tengen (played by atnight, (or is that the evil atnight playing at tengen?) Either way - a joy to watch and listen to. Thank you.
Hey Bat ^^ I am wondering what the time settings were for this game? Scary stuff if it was a fast game and legend could still read ahead and keep atnight dead.
It really sounds like bashing 7th dan because a pro beat him. Are you 7 dan yourself? Could you beat that pro? Then why bash the strategy that this guy probably worked on for a long time? You sound kinda arrogant.
Am i 7dan? Yes, most of the time. Could I beat the professional? Of course not. As someone who educates other go players and wants to see them get stronger I think its a very good thing to point out why a style or strategy is not expected to work on a fundamental level. Sorry you don't like my videos, but I am a passionate player and my opinions at times can and will reflect this passion.
dwyrin I like your videos in general, I watched many of them and will probably watch others. Thanks for uploading them. But I really don't like your position on this player/game in particular. The atnight guy is passionate about beating the pro with this strategy, he is trying again and again, not being embarassed by his failure. And you just mock at his attempts. He probably knows a bit if he is 7 dan. edit: to be clear, it comes off as if you are bashing the player instead of bashing the strategy.
param burum I think either way whether he was talking childish or not about black's style it was still informative since black's style is so simple and obvious there isnt really much to talk about....and there is probably more to it that makes others dislike this way of playing but I would say seeing such a simple way of playing can be very annoying and frustrating to even watch because others may not take it seriously or look down on such a player because it is like he is just toying/playing around...and maybe he is a very strong studied educated 7d but people make look at this player as if he's making a mockery out of go players and go in general.and honestly the way he was playing was not 7d he played moves that were nothing at all....played completely slow....I honestly do not believe the black player is the strength of a moden 7d even tho apperantly he has been some of them....Idk I personally look down on the player since he style should honestly nvr win in the high dans but that's just an opening like you said he's trying to perfect it but that doesnt mean its good..But him doing the same opening isnt any different from let's say Shusaku's opening....(Which btw i can understand why shusaku believe the 3-4 was the best point to play on no matter how far go progressed i have always felt the 3-3 can just be too annoying and too good against 4-4....so playing very territorial and having a safe stone in the middle to reduce from everywhere is just not sportsmanlike?... but it's part of the game so lot's of people just like that it's even being played)....Even myself just thinking of typing about such a stupid simple opening is annoying me

Hey, this Legend serie is so great and helpful :D
Thanks for all your videos Bat/Dwyrin ;)
I love this lecture series. It deals with really advanced games, but it's so well explained even a thick headed 18Kyu player like me can follow along.
Taking all the corners... at night
