Your video is very informative and food is amazing. I can't wait to taste the food in Mexico, I'll be there next Thursday for a vacation. Thank you for sharing.

I suggest you visit "Hostería Santo Domingo" in centro histórico. They have the greatest "chiles en nogada" all year round. Thanks for sharing your experiences
ok. now hold on here. Are you serious about the year-round chilies en nogado? I was told the same thing about Cafe de Tacuba and we went there last night and it was nice, but they did not have chilies en nogado.
I'm really serious... that's one of the things they are very well known for.... The main seasonal ingridient is the granada but they have suppliers from different places that allows them to have everytime... The place is also beautifull ang historic... I hope you are able to go... :)
Really enjoying your videos. My wife is from Mexico City, so I've been many times. Like you and most other travelers, food is a big part of the whole experience. After traveling to Mexico City so frequently, I've pretty much given up on all of the supposed "authentic" Mexican restaurants in Canada and the US. Rather a disappointment not to mention an embarrassment to such wonderful cuisine. Each time we visit Mexico City, we stay within the Centro Historic district as well, which is where El Morro is located. So close to the Zocalo, Madero Street, etc. I highly recommend taking your family to Cafe El Popular in Centro Historic on Av. 5 de Mayo (Cinco de Mayo). I always order the enchilada's verdes, enchiladas Suiza (Swiss), or chicken mole (chocolate variant), but all of their dishes are fantastic and very well priced. Also, the fish tacos at Fishers is a must. You'll find locations all over Mexico City. There's one in Centro Historic fairly close to Madero, but I forget its exact location. Oh, and did you know that Santa Fe was a large landfill/dump up until a little over 20 years ago? Amazing what they did. Pretty sure Carlos Slim had a hand in that ;)
yah, there is so much food variety it is mind-boggling. Just went to Cafe El Popular. They had some really good molletes. I did know about the landfill, you'd never know it now thats for sure.
Another very fun video. Glad you made it Santa Fe. That is the newest part of the city, so it’s very modern. Just a few years ago there was very little there, and now it’s like a whole new city. Did you know a large part of it used to be a garbage dump? Of course that’s all covered up and it is quite nice now. That looked like a great meal! Glad you enjoyed the horchata too. It’s a new thing for many visitors, but I think most who try it do enjoy it. 🙂
"who in their right mind would..." is the saying. What Amy meant to say is exactly what she said. " No One in The Right Mind Would Do That " is also a saying. "invite you up into the ring" the wrestling ring. Meaning to ask you in some manner to come up and join the Luchadores.
Well... not really. The whole point of why it is funny is that the Lucha Libre management or other Luchadores would never ask a gringo audience member to just come up and start wrestling in the ring in the middle of the event. It is just a ridiculous idea. Then it is even funnier that the gringo would be in the bedroom in their underwear practicing.
WELCOME TO MÈXICO CITY!!! What enjoy the most about your videos is seing you kids enjoying the food. I’m glad you have liked most of the food and treats you have tried at Mèxico City!! Blessings to you and to your beautiful family as well. 👨👩👦👦+✈️+🥭🍓🥥🥑🌮🌮🌮🌶🌽+🇱🇷🇲🇽=🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great video! I used to live 1/2 mile from the mall. Don't let some people give bs that all was a huge landfill. True was that part of the mall was a landfill but not the entire Santa Fe area. Most of the area was undeveloped because it was under litigation. This litigation went on for years without a solution. Santa Fe's master development plan was introduced 30 years ago, Santa Fe's mall is around 20 years old already but it has been expanded twice. But the rest of the area (new buildings and the park) was developed in the last 16 years. For some reason people who are not from the area like it a lot. This is why people were suggesting the area. For us who lived in the area during the litigation found it quiet and only saw a lot of people in the mall during the weekends. We used to avoid the mall during the weekends during week days we were there a few times. Also, a quick note I saw that you are going to los pinos, be aware that some Mexicans do not like the way the new president opened it up to the public. He opened it up without much planning and without respect of the presidency. There is not info in any of the buildings of the compound but they are rich in history after all the country was run from there for many decades.
I can always count on you to cut to the facts. I appreciate that. Thanks for the heads up on Los Pinos. We went yesterday. I will keep all that in mind while editing the video. The grounds there are just beautiful.

Jones family, I admire you guys! How can you eat that amount of food! I love the way you enjoy all our Mexican food! I couldn't eat in a full day half of what you have in a single meal. In Spanish is called: " tener un buen diente" literally translated into English is: to have a good tooth. I enjoy your videos, keep them coming!
Haha. We have to be very strict during the week and a lot of the times we don’t get a. Chance to eat breakfast or lunch. But the food is just soo good.
Hi Jones Fam, I haven't been in Santa Fe... that Parque "La Mexicana " it's really beautiful!... I'm glad you went to "El Moro" can't tell you ...how many generations of Families that We went there...since I was a kid ! Do you like Seafood ?... Go to "El Danubio " restaurant since 1938 the best Seafood in Mexico ( Try the "Langostinos al Ajo" ( Lobster -Crayfish in garlic sauce) it's very close to "El Moro" .
You have to eat tacos de canasta at tacos Joven they are staple in Mexico and usually eaten for breakfast. Also try the fish and shrimp tacos at el pescadito de Sonora. They are must before you guys leave Mexico City.
Nice family travel blog, very enjoyable videos and lovely family, I hope you have a great time in this city, some of my food recomendations if you have not tried are :sopa de medula, cochinita pibil, quesdillas de chicharron/flor de calabaza/huitlacoche, carnitas michoacanas, ceviche and tacos de barbacoa

Hello there Family Jones! I just discovered your channel a few videos ago. This one I enjoyed it very much. I’m originally from CDMX but we live in Canada since 2000 so every time we go back to visit the family is a struggle because we want to visit a lot of new places in the city and also the family. So for our next trip we are really considering to stay in an Airbnb so we can have the freedom to go to as many places as we can. Anyways watching your video my husband has to say it: "see! That’s what I’m talking about: Freedom!!..."
That’s fantastic to hear. That sounds like a great plan. We will have been here for months seeing as much as we can see on the weekends and there will still be soo much that we miss. So yes, you really need a good plan to see as much as you can. Thanks for watching
Great video!!, while in Mexico city you should visit the art toys museum (Av. 5 de mayo num. 23, Col. Centro, cdmx) and the museo del juguete entiguo mexicano (calle Dr. Olvera no. 15, Col. Doctores cdmx)
Ohh horchata my favorite flavor, and the churros el moro, there is another restaurant that I recommend, El bajío and maybe the Bisquets Obregón have a nice day !!
You guys have to try some charbroiled burgers (hamburguesas al carbon) in Mexico City sometime. The charcoal they use give them a really special flavor. Better ask them sin picante, that can be really hot in some places.
@@WheretheJones Quien come mucho es un tragon y para aliviarse toma en un vaso de agua sal de uvas marca Picot, muy famosa en México para aliviar la acidez estomacal
BMan is just strutting Mexico with swag with those shades! It would be so cool to see the #JonesBoys make some friends...that would be interesting to see from a viewers' perspective.
That dudes got some style. And he is getting ready to up his game too. He has been requesting a sport coat. I would love to see see some friends or a meal at a Mexican family’s home. That would top this whole experience off.
Your videos are great, you have a beautiful familiy! One observation: one of the dips, it`s not caramel, it`s called Cajeta, it`s made from goat milk and sugar.
The "caramel" that you're eating is actually cajeta. The cajeta is goat milk with sugar (sometimes with sweet wine added) quemada (burnt) and is very delicious.
@@WheretheJones Hi. Yes. You can buy it at the supermarket. Just look for "Cajeta envinada Coronado" (you can find it near the jelly or mermelades). We use it like you will do it with peanutbutter (I mean, we spread it on white bread or churros). Something else that I'd like to add is that you can save more money eating. Eat like most locals do. Try "fondas". Fondas or fonditas are restaurants that serve food that Mexicans usually eat everyday and are able to pay. The full meal (includes fruit water, usually: horchata, limonade or Jamaica; soup or mexican rice and the main dish (pollo en salsa verde, enchiladas, chile relleno, etc, etc) and dessert) can cost you around $60 to $80 pesos (3 to 4 dollars) per person. You can even find more afordable meals but this is the basic food surviving for a lot of Mexicans.
Gotcha. Yah, I need to keep an eye out for these Fondas. I would very much like to eat at one. There are some probably very close to me and we just don't see them.

You have to eat tacos de canasta at tacos Joven they are staple in Mexico and usually eaten for breakfast. Also try the fish and shrimp tacos at el pescadito de Sonora. They are must before you guys leave Mexico City.
👍👍👍ok!
Visit the Latin American Tower and the Castle of the Emperor Maximiliano I at Chapultepec park.

Estoy segura de que si ponen subtítulos en español cuando vayan a países de habla hispana la cantidad de suscriptores aumentaría significativamente. Saludos y bienvenidos a México. 🇲🇽
Estoy de acuerdo. Ahora mismo tengo un voluntario que está dispuesto a agregar algunos subtítulos en español en su tiempo libre.
@@WheretheJones Excelente! Les deseo mucho éxito. 👌

You are talent Mr. Jones!!!
You are kind!

Great video!!, while in Mexico city you should visit the art toys museum (Av. 5 de mayo num. 23, Col. Centro, cdmx) and the museo del juguete entiguo mexicano (calle Dr. Olvera no. 15, Col. Doctores cdmx)
It’s pretty close. I’ll show the boys the website and see what they say. Thanks.

Haha. Thank you. We are glad you like them. When your heading off?
Where the Jones tomorrow
Woohoo. Have a great time!
I hope so

Ohh horchata my favorite flavor, and the churros el moro, there is another restaurant that I recommend, El bajío and maybe the Bisquets Obregón have a nice day !!
Agreed. I will look into those restaurants.
If I’m not mistaken, where Sante Fe is located it used to be a dumpster years ago.
From what I just read from a well informed commenter is that yes it did have a dump but it was not the whole area or anything.
You guys have to try some charbroiled burgers (hamburguesas al carbon) in Mexico City sometime. The charcoal they use give them a really special flavor. Better ask them sin picante, that can be really hot in some places.
Can you recommend a good place? We might try with the picante, we can handle some heat. Got pretty acclimated in Asia.
Churros calientitos 😋😋😋😋thank you family Jones😍😘
Our pleasure...really 😉
Sal de uvas picor, para los tragones
No entiendo
@@WheretheJones Quien come mucho es un tragon y para aliviarse toma en un vaso de agua sal de uvas marca Picot, muy famosa en México para aliviar la acidez estomacal
ahhh De acuerdo. Entiendo ahora.
I'♥ your vidios & family😄😉👏👏........ GRACIAS por disfrutar de nuestro país, su casa 😉❤
🙏❤️
Great video of Santa fe,,great dinner and delicious churros..
👍👍🙏
Your videos are great, you have a beautiful familiy! One observation: one of the dips, it`s not caramel, it`s called Cajeta, it`s made from goat milk and sugar.
Thank you. Yes Cajeta, we learned that. Amy was surprised as she is not a fan of goat milk usually.
The "caramel" that you're eating is actually cajeta. The cajeta is goat milk with sugar (sometimes with sweet wine added) quemada (burnt) and is very delicious.
ooo, with wine huh? Interesting.
@@WheretheJones Hola. Yes, there are many, specially if you live near centro histórico.
