    MEXICO CITY 🇲🇽
The oldest capital of North America, and of the Americas.
    (Mexico-Tenochtitlan)
Historical capital of four political entities:
    Capital of the Aztec Empire
Capital of the Viceroyalty of the New Spain
Capital of the First Mexican Empire
    Capital of the Mexican Republic
Nicknamed by the conquerors The Venice of the new world.
Mexico City, is the second city with more museums, in the world, has the Chapultepec Castle, the only real castle in America to be inhabited by emperors.
Besides the Bosque de Chapultepec that is three times bigger than Central Park in New York.
El Paseo de la Reforma is considered the second most beautiful avenue in the world, after the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
The capital has a legacy that mixes architecture, pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern, making Mexico City a cosmopolitan city.
The ancient Mexico-Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec Empire, has been transformed into "Mexico City"
    The metropolis of Latin America.

If it’s a real traditional Mexican “cantina,” that’ll usually be the case. As long as you keep drinking, they’ll keep feeding you. 😄

16 pesos it's about 40 cents of a dollar. I am from Ciudad de Mexico. Chapultepec was the favorite destination for kids ditching school. I was one of many kids doing that. In my days of Secundaria (Jr High) a torta (mexican sandwich) was 5 to 7 pesos depending of what kind it was, BUT in Chapultepec, the vendors had this one peso ham torta. They will build up a pyramid of tortas displaying lettuce, tomato and ham, Funny thing it was the only piece of ham the torta had, just the display bite lol. The rest of it was only the bread and bunch of lettuce. Nothing else haha. Hey but just enough to kill the empty stomach. Budget, budget. Had to get back home and make sure I had at least two more pesos left, one for the metro and one for the bus. Nice videos of yours. Glad you guys having fun in my city. Take your boys to the Museum of the Electricity in Chapultepec. Hope still exists

    • @WheretheJones
      @WheretheJones  5 лет назад

So descriptive. I felt like I was there watching you take that 1 bite of ham out of the sandwich. There is a lot of value in those experiences. I actually grew up living in a house with no running water and all food came from the gardens. We had more than dirt floor but just so. Worked hard and worked smart and put myself in a position where I could show my sons the world.

If you live in a country you should learn the language. If visiting then no, of course not. You can if you want but no one should expect it. And if you visit a country where you don't know the language, you can't really expect anyone else to know yours, if they do cool but that just a bonus.

An American general of that battle wrote that he was ashamed of his country (USA) for the invasion of Mexico, his statement appears in a room of the Castle Museum, in addition, the cadets must be considered as non-combatants according to military honor. They gave no order to besiege, it was an order: "Non-prisoner attack". The heroic thing was that the director ordered the cadets to leave the night before, they did not. It is an old wound and we know that Americans today are not guilty, but the vast majority do not know the truth of the invasion, as well as the Alamo because of the distorted versions that emerged in their time. Welcome to my country , enjoy it. Thank you for your empathy and respect for the symbol of the monument., and for your knowledge about it, 5:48 excuse me my english. google translator.
