ADVICE TO THE ONLY CHRISTIAN IN A NON CHRISTIAN FAMILY // struggles, shame, hiding faith

- Being the only christian in a non christian family is TOUGH to say the least and I wanted to give advice to anyone who has struggles, shame and has to hide their faith being in this situation. The good thing in this is that God chose you to be saved in the household because He has trusted you to be the warrior, to be the reflection of Jesus in that home. So be the light in the home, be led by the Spirit in your daily actions. Hold onto the promise that your household will be saved because of your salvation and don't let it go, love is never giving up and always being hopeful so hope in the promise that God has given us in His word!

It hurts my heart that we have to feel this way but I know God is still on the throne! He knows what we need and He saved us, so He can save our families. Don’t get discouraged! Love and hugs!! ❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I can relate so much with the growing up in a Catholic household and being Christian. My mom once made fun of me for praying, but that didn’t stop me for praying. My family goes to church whenever they want or feel like it, and they don’t understand my relationship with God. I wish they could feel the same way I feel, but they do tell me they have God in their life’s and don’t need to go to church to speak to him. Parents prioritize work and apparently are happy.I try to tell them to spend more time with their kids, since I won’t remember them working but the impact or time I spend with them, and they say they do so much for us and that we should be grateful. We are so broken, and I def need to pray for each one of us, including myself. A lot of times I lose it , and I have to remember that I am the first version of the Bible to a lot of people including them. Colossians 3:23 say “whatever you do, do it heartily as to the Lord and not to men.”
Don’t feel the need to tip toe around your house, BE YOURSELF and if they don’t like it, it’s THEM not YOU !! 💕☺️

I don't feel any shame but for my parents to really repent for their sins and see and hear what Jesus said about not worshipping anything or anyone else but God. My family is Catholic based as well. Also former Catholic but got saved in my 30's when I didn't live with family any longer. My Dad had already passed. My Mom passed in 2020. I'm supposed to be getting together with siblings and possibly other family Friday/this weekend and they still don't want anything to do with Christianity. It is so difficult. Please keep your light for Jesus and keep praying. Love you sister. (P.S. this might sound weird, but also please don't ever get a hysterectomy like I did in 2019 - it ruins vital strength and diminishes prayer life😭)

hi, thank you for your words. I am in a situation, where my family has Christian background. My family knows all the theory of christianity, but they don't have a relationship with God, or Jesus. Talking about God, Jesus, heaven, hell, salvation and damination, has become the "nono talk", in other words, they don't like talking about it, if i mention it i would be seen as a religious fanatic and most probably disincluded from my family's inner circle. Thats also because they are living and thinking only about the world.
+ my fathers side of family doesn't believe, nor wants to hear about Jesus. including my dad.
and i am in the exact situation you described, that i pray quietly and i hide whenever i listen to videos like yours.
All i can ask you is, please pray for me and my family. So that i could share it with them while theres still time. I am fully aware that we are living in the end times and that there is no time to waste. Thank you for your video, at least i know i am not the only one who has it this way and that you showed me i can overcome it.

My mum , she had a lot of things going on - asthma, feet’s are swollen etc. when I tell her I know what will help her - Jesus and she don’t wanna talk about it she immediately get angry about this conversation, and it feels like she is joking about him..
it makes me really sad, because he Jesus helps me in my life but she is just .. I really wanna to help her but I don’t know how .. and it makes me sad, that it looks like that some demons are talking to her that God Doesn’t exist!

As an agnostic athiest with an evangelical Christian family I find that it is really important to be able to coherently defend your position of lack of faith in a diety. That's why time spent reading the likes of Christopher Hitchens, Richard Dawkins, listerning to the likes of Aron Ra, Matt Dillahunty, the Friendly Atheist is NOT wasted. Being well versed in anti-apologetics is a big help in nipping things in the bud.
With regards to YEC once that subject is broached if you you know the basics - it is not you who is afraid but them because once you get past a certain point there is the real danger of popping their bubble of woo woo - end of conversation - time to pray to Jesus.
Be polite, keep your temper, have a good sense of humour respect the other persons view point and you will reach at worse a Mexican Standoff. If you can put your side over they will not try to convert you but will be wary of having their own faith undermined. A lot of these people are so "full of Jesus" they cannot understand why you are not so tell them - who knows you may just start another de- conversion story.

I feel a connection to Jesus but my family is SUPER against all of it. Like mega atheist. (My mom believes there is a god but the rest of my family are a hard no.) I feel like they are keeping me from believing what I believe and I’m struggling to keep faith- what do I do?

Kathy at 6:03 in the video you said “if you believe in the Lord Jesus, your household is saved.” Your actually taking the verse out of context.The jailer was about to kill himself but Paul yelled “Don’t harm yourself! We are all here”. Then the jailer ran to Paul and Silas and asked “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied by saying “believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” They told all the people in his household about Jesus and they went and got baptized. So if you believe you are saved, but not your household unless they also believe.
Yes!!! This is true, but what I mean in what I’m saying is to hold onto the hope that your family too will be saved, this is a promise in the bible - that when one is saved the whole family will be saved. Ofc we have to do our part - be the light in the home, share the gospel but they will be washed as well! There’s a reason God chooses one in the home to be saved! I hope this brought clarity to what I meant :)

The Catholics I know say Jesus very often.
In one rosary, the name of Jesus is expressed about 60 times. Maybe it is just your household who doesn't like Him?
Brother/sister if your Church/Cathedral teaches anything that is NOT Biblical never trust it. They may not do it with content but deny all that isn’t Biblical.
1. Mary never asked to be prayed to AT ALL, neither did she say that she was an interceder. She is a human and cannot hear prayers, only God should be praised. No where in scripture does it say that Mary will pray for you that idea is man made. “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5)
2. We are not to make any graven images and DEFINITELY NOT bow down to them. “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;” (Exodus 20:4-5)
“I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” (Isaiah 42:8)
3. We are not to call any teacher father except for our Father in heaven, it is prohibited in the scriptures. “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.” (Matthew 23:9)
4. The rosary is not Biblical at all
5. We are not saved by works! “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Open your eyes and get out of tradition. Anything that is not Biblical is false, as well as even many of the so called “Christian” holidays celebrated today, they have pagan origin.

Living with non believers is tough. Bad company corrupts good morals. My family gossips, and they worry about pointless things that kills their spirit. I can't lie, I don't care to be around them anymore. I hope they find true salvation. They say that they are saved but they gossip and trash talk eachother and others. Not something I desire to be around. My aunt claims salvation but never seeks Christ. She stopped going to church and so did her daughter. I'm praying for them. Being around it is just a bit discouraging and toxic. I've tried to introduce them to the Lord and His word but I can tell although they claim to be loving, they aren't, they deny God in reality. I hope to move out soon. They've proven to all possess a hard heart that only God can deal with. I'm saving up to leave. I won't just leave them without them knowing but It'll be the day after I let them know

You can be raised Catholic, or any other denomination for that matter, and call yourself a "Christian" by association of your family, but until you truly surrender and accept Jesus into your heart and receive the Holy Spirit, your just religious (like the world thinks of that word), not yet saved. Sounds like she was saved from just, going through the motions of the catholic "religion", and then she found a personal relationship with Jesus Christ : ] The Catholic denomination, though I don't agree with much of what it teaches, is still part of God's family, and they can have a personal relationship with Jesus too.. Just sounds like it wasn't the way she found that relationship. She's welcome to chime in more on this though! It's definitely a complicated topic to discuss
Any advice for an atheist living with a religious extremist family?
Stay firm in Christ! I have gone through much persecution in my home because of my love for Jesus. I can now see after 2 years Gods seeds growing! Do not be swayed, it will not be easy but if Christ is enthroned in your heart it will be worth it! Speak life (the word of God) into your home, read it out loud I every room, rebuke the spirit of religiosity in your home, be the light of Christ and things will begin to change! You dont have to say anything but by your heart posture your family will begin to see His gentle love 😀 praying with you!
