In my personal experience, listening to their song while reading the lyrics is a good method, too. As a song is easily remembered. I can even "read" the kanji unconsciously as I know the lyrics hehe. Singing a japanese song with lyrics (I used Spotify) is a fun way to learn Nihongo too :)
