When I was in my early 20's I bounced from ideology to ideology, joining a couple of different cults. In one, a distant offshoot of Thelema in NYC, the followers said that I was their chosen one, the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. I was freaked out and left the city; I knew that I was not that important. One of the rituals was the Ritual of the Rose-Croix and it was lead by a well-known "professional" astrologer. Many cults look for people who are lost or are searching for something new and try to give them a feeling of being special through revealing "hidden knowledge" or an elevated rank in this world or the next. Always ask yourself questions and if there is anything that goes contrary to your common sense or previous moral/civic obligations; then leave.

I believe that the cult is a group or a movement that's split in different categories. Most cults are religious but some are political, therapy based, focused on self improvement the list goes on.
I remember the Branch Davidians fiasco. I was little, but it was a huge deal. “The Whacko in Waco” was the phrase people kept using; and while I normally appreciate alliteration and plays on words, that always seemed a little too playful to me somehow for something so scary and intense.

I was raised in a cult till I was 8 years old. Recently my dad decided he wanted to become a Reverend, and my dads name is Jim Jones and I feel he only decided to become a Reverend so he can have the name Reverend Jim Jones lol

I believe that the cult is a group or a movement that's split in different categories. Most cults are religious but some are political, therapy based, focused on self improvement the list goes on.

Love your channel, but you guys really, really glossed over the full extent of the horror involving the Children of God cult.
I didn't know Frisk grew up to be a cult leader, let alone one helping people commit suicide...
I remember the Branch Davidians fiasco. I was little, but it was a huge deal. “The Whacko in Waco” was the phrase people kept using; and while I normally appreciate alliteration and plays on words, that always seemed a little too playful to me somehow for something so scary and intense.
This is interesting and all. But then i notice you say David Berg is "living in seclution somewhere". He has been dead since 94.. that makes me wonder what else is wrong..
you forgot the Cult of Kali in india
