Imagine if Canada spent tax payers money on Forest Management instead of foreign wars = big beautiful forests instead of death and destruction !

For the amount they sent to Ukraine we could have a fleet of water bombers that could to a train run on these fires and put them out within a week....not only that when other countries are on fire we could go back to the old days when Canadians went out and helped our neighbors! Something needs to change!

How about if we take all the subsidy money that’s given to the oil companies and use that to fight forest fires what a difference that would make.
@@BCJerbsMore airtankers would be great, but if you have a wind driven fire, tankers can't always operate in those conditions, or when the smoke is laying low and creating poor visibility.

Where I live (in ns) trails that should be flooded are dry. There was less rain probably because of El Nino mostly.
None of that means climate change isn't real or that pollution is fine.
Alberta is a big place. It's possible for some areas to be dry and others not.

It’s not ironic at all. The heart of the oil industry is also in the middle of the largest forest in the world. Here’s some irony data for you. Over the last 2 decades we’ve cut our forestry industry by over 60% and the number of fires have increased proportionately. Isn’t that ironic?
