This is good news me and my wife worked through out the pandemic and only got two checks while some my siblings ad family members didn’t even have jobs and were collecting up to 25.000 on a card at the time I didn’t understand why they didn’t even have a job but now I know why I’ll be making sure to stop by my local edd now thanks for the info
They had probably jobs before but never claimed unemployment which would explain the high amount.

There's no extension now. Once you run 0 on the unemployment you dont have any extensions in California.

I was denied in 2020 then I was put on pua without my knowledge and was given $135 a week not including the extra $300 I called numerous time waited for hours and days to get people on line when I did they would get frustrated and sounded drunk eaither they hang up or tell me once I’m on pua I can’t change it till it runs out on its own but I started working they made a mistake on my hours due to pandemic we quarantine for 14 days I then tryed to tell Edd I made a mistake twice and no response now in 2023 I received a letter I owe for the weeks I tryed to fix i appealed it 11/20/2022 I had a court hearing 10/23 and submitted my evidence mind u I filed for one week every quarter for school and each was a penalty for the mistake I made that I tryed to fix in the first place i explained that to the judge in 10/23 and still don’t have a verdict not only should they give me what they took but also what payments I didn’t receive during the pandemic
Really my girlfriend lost her claim because a edd employee opened up claims and she is been fighting to get her benefits since July 2020 she’s on a weird RED-BANNER THING THAT YOU CAN FIND INFORMATION ON EDD ONLINE OR ANYWHERE HOW WEIRD

Edd is impossible to get a hold of I had a guy finnaly call me after a month and he was so frustrated that he yelled screamed at me then hung up mind you they are impossible to get ahold of so last winter when my union had no work for me at the time me and my pregnant wife had to scrape around to get by I will never forgive EDD or California politicians for allowing them to act this way to people who want their hard earned money the stress was so bad I considered the easy way out I hold such a grudge against them that if harm came to them and I had the ability to to stop it I wouldn’t help just because someone’s having a bad day its no reason to deny a family of the money they work for, trusting this government ran agency with your money both taxes you pay for yourself and taxes to keep them employed is a waste I really wish they could feel the pain my family had to endure last winter I do I really do I’ll hold this grudge until I’m dead and I’ll hold it even then I work hard I pay my ends and at the end of the day this state doesent care we are just numbers
