One of my favourite Australian pop classics, and the film clip makes it even more special. I grew up on Johnson st Annandale and spent a lot of time in many of the spots in the video. And once a month, Dad would take me either to Wentworth Park for the doggies or Harold Park for the trots. It was such a simple outing but I loved it.
There's a pretty girl smiling in that video about 2 minutes , 8 seconds in She was 18 at the time , I met her when she turned 19 we are still happily married 41 years on
The Eastern Suburbs railway line in the background at 0:46. I think this could have been filmed at Edgecliff, but I could be wrong. The train line still looks the same, but those type of trains don't, nor do those houses.
These were great times in the 80s. I was in college and had not a care in the world. well maybe what party and where to buy beer with a fake ID that night but that was IT
I'll never forget watching this for the 1st time on Simon Townsend's Wonder World. Loved it INSTANTLY and sounds even better today in 2024. A masterpiece indeed
Fantastic song by a Fantastic band. Beyond that the memories this video bring back for me make me so happy... Sydney when it was a great place to live. My dad had a mechanic workshop just around Wentworth Park dogs when i was a kid, spent a lot to time there in my youth, those pubs where the old times drank Resch's and DA, smoked Capstan, Ardath and Camel. Young, old and everyone inbetween drank at the same bar... good days. All those pubs now are unrecognisable with their hipster, non binary rainbow patrons.....used to be better
David, it is 4 am and I am desperately trying to work out and I am a bit slow at the best of times ,I see every word but I can't understand the sentence, do I need to know who Ted Bullpit is , signed HELP
Once a girl took my love until I couldn't give anymore, Then I tried to pretend not to see what I couldn't ignore. My girl don't love me at all My girl don't love me at all My girl don't love me at all Anymore. I took her to the dance and then I didn't see her all night. Then a friend said he saw her with some other boy just outside. When I went out she was alone. She said, "I would like to go home" I asked her, "Who were you with?" She said, "No-one." I could tell that she lied (And a voice said inside) My girl don't love me at all My girl don't love me at all My girl don't love me at all Anymore. Holy Cow where have these gentlemen been for the last 35 years in America?!
This song has one of my all-time favourite guitar solos. Never fails to take me back to happier times.
And the dog is Verry Elegant

Agreed 👍
I didn’t think it had one.
Great, very Monochrome Set solo
A great snapshot of Sydney in 1983. Man I feel old. Great track .
It’s fantastic isn’t it. Love the pub…brings back so many memories. Good ones. ❤🎹🎸🥁🎼😃
So sad that parts of Glebe (where the video was filmed) are not there any more.
I was at the pub whilst they filmed this. I was 16 or 17 in 1983. Sad when it was demolished.
I love film clips where bands don’t take themselves too seriously.
Cheers Dave
I agree just love that era
That is so Australian. 😆

I worked on the tote at wenty park for a while as a young woman.
I love this song and agree, the video makes it even better- not often the case.
I lived in Johnson at Annandale for years in the 80s and whilst only going to the dogs a few times, spent alot of time at the Harold Park Hotel.

Dave flashing the cheese!!! All those 50's!!!
My daughter loved the dinosaurs in I want you back when she was a baby. Great memories, and a very under rated aussie band.
Exceptional song. I had a similar experience but now realise we just weren't compatible.
No doubt about it, Stoneage Romeos is the greatest album in history. Ever. Of all time.
Stone cold classic

What pub is it?
It’s the Long Gone pub in Balmain
@@ronanrogers4127 Well that narrows it down then.
Central Market Hotel in THe Haymarket, next to the EntCent. Now gone. A punk pub at the time.
I heard it was the Harold Park Pub 🤷♂️
@@SSpray82 your correct David. It is indeed the Harold Park Hotel.
When greyhound racing was a thing.
Is this song about his greyhound?
I thought the same thing too, I thought he was singing about his Greyhound doesn’t love him anymore. LOL
@@brodiemillers5211 I think what he meant is that even if something bad happens there is always someone or something that can help to overcome it.
No 🙄
I’ve gone to see this band play 4 times greatest 80s rock band of Australia
They like racing
I love this song and I hate that girlfriend too
dawg racing is dirty
🇦🇺
Was it the guys on The Footy Show called their Greyhound "Nads" so when it was running they'd yell Gonads! Gonads!
No this was back in 1983
That dog is not properly restrained in the vehicle!
lmao my ex did this

Your mum?
All dog racing shut down here in the USA. All good music has gone the same way. Times are a-changing.
