I don't know why everybody is so shocked at the old man because he is just killing it on the guitar. Is it because he is old? Look at all the crazy rock bands that came from the 60s 70s and 80s, I'm 55 and I still love to rock out! In 1979 I was rocking out to AC/DC and all those bands, and I still am 43 years later! Just like old fella is.
Modern society doesn't know much about rock it's somethinmg their parents and grandparents heard. There are thankfully still many that hear it and start to get into it.

Because no matter how much you practice and no matter how much experience you have, aging affects everyone's skill and reflexes and hand-eye- coordination the more they age. Even if mentally they are still super fast and smart and remember techniques, their fingers or hands may not keep up like they did decades ago
So being from the same time period as a certain sound automatically means you can replicate it with an instrument? 🤔 I better dust off my Les Paul and try this out!

1st guy sounded awesome, I wasn't sure what to expect. But many of the comments do spell it out. The guy grew up listening to rock n roll idols. I'd bet money he's seen some of the best rock gods live. It does take practice, skill, and talent to shred like he did, but that sound is the sound of his generation too. He's representing!
It always puzzles me when people are amazed or in shock when a musician who's been playing all his/her life plays for people who don't know them. I've been playing drums and guitar for over 60 years (I'm 69 now) and do people think we don't get better as we get older? Do they think that all of a sudden we decide to stop doing something we've done all our lives and still love? I don't know, it just baffles me when I see this type of reaction. Rock on, brother.
He so reminds me of of Peter Frampton now. They could be the same age. Peter always smiles when he plays it's almost like he is saying, "isn't this fun"?!!! There is such joy in his playing.

I remember reading a story in a body building magazine years ago where they we're talking about this old guy that helped out during the competition. When the meet ended, he helped clean etc. One of things they do is of course get the weights off the stage. The old man goes out on the stage, and grabs the final winning weight with one hand, and some other stuff in his other hand and carries it all of the stage like it was no thing at all.
As for the first guitarist, the older guy, never, ever, ever, judge a guitar player by their looks. That quiet dorky guy or girl you see walking the hall could have the soul of souls and in private might rock like you've never heard. And as you get older, that rock-and-roll kid in you never goes away.

Here’s the thing regarding the 1st guitar player…the riffs and arpeggios that he was playing at his presume age..( which could be in his 60’s or maybe little older) isn’t a supprise… because when shredding was at the forefront in the late late 70’s and early to mid 80’s he was right there in the mix with that style of playing.. as a young player coming up during that great musical era.
That first performance was coming from a master of rock! That man has a natural musical magic and a life time of practice!

Call Simon what you want but the man does have a ear and a natural act to see talent like true talent.
Here’s the thing regarding the 1st guitar player…the riffs and arpeggios that he was playing at his presume age..( which could be in his 60’s or maybe little older) isn’t a supprise… because when shredding was at the forefront in the late late 70’s and early to mid 80’s he was right there in the mix with that style of playing.. as a young player coming up during that great musical era.
Some old guys can still ROCK!
