I like to consider this scene from Zeus' point of view. He literally just implemented a seemingly sound plan to dispatch this unruly demigod by impaling him with the Blade, but perhaps only a hour later, he is hiding up on his mountain, after nearly being killed himself, with that same demigod threatening to impale HIM with that same sword, while riding the back of the reconstitured forms of his greatest sworn enemies, all nearly within reach of ending his rule and life. He mutters under his breath, "Should've listened to Hera and killed him when he was an infant."
