Fighting Týr with his Katana out is all fun and games until this man says "Um-hūxan!"
I didn't notice, what does it mean?
Reflection @@magnumcalibre44
@@magnumcalibre44"Reflection", it's what he says when he makes a shadow clone of himself
"HE'S THE LEFT ONE!"
He really do be using shadow clone jutsu
Makes me want to overcome my temptations, conquer my social anxiety and ascend to the strongest version of myself
Progress my friend! What ever progress you have made since this comment, proud of you!
I love how Kratos’ theme is also in this soundtrack since they’re both gods of war
Fun fact: It depends on which weapons of mythology Tyr used that corresponds to the theme. The one we hearing now is the Greece version of the theme
@@DJKO12Xwait so there are 4 different version of this?
@@Kanaremkinda there are little music notes that have sounds from those cultures that Tyr gets his weapons from
His first phase is just the original Shield and Spear depicted in his shrine. The 2nd is using a Macuahuitl from Aztec that allows him the use of blood magic, along with some banging drums. 3rd is a pair of Khopesh blades from Egypt accompanied by some classic desert string music and his final is a Katana from Japanese which has a flute with it.
@@DJKO12XIt’s probably the Norse (standard) theme, considering that Tyr is a Norse god, and that the spear and shield were no less Norse weapons than they were Greek
Tyr and Kratos doing the manliest handshake
When they did that, I literally said, "For real, this time!"
Kratos and Týr having the war-respected handshake is fuckin' mad. Two bros just duking it out and then Týr says "I yield".
Seeing Tyr in action makes you think if it was just his diplomatic skills that made Odin so paranoid of him.
Dude sick comment lol..
Indeed he’s incredibly powerful as well it’s no wonder Odin saw his own son as a threat
A diplomat by nature, but a Fiercer Warrior when it’s needed
thor would have won against tyr most likely, but i really don't believe Odin really wanted tyr dead, i mean odin was so strangely done in this game, he didn't need to be cartoonishly evil, a realistic aproach would be just, odin wants tyr arrested so he won't try to mess his plans, odin is egoistical and will do all it takes to survive ragnarok but he is not cartonishly evil or sadistic
@@Luizguilherme-iz9ylOdin literally locked him away…so he wouldn’t interfere. That’s what they did.
First time we get to see REAL Tyr in action. All that hype in 2018, the sad realization in Ragnarok you've been with a fake the whole time & then easter eggs of him doing Tai Chi in a frozen hellscape. I'm so glad he had such a big role in this DLC.
*Role, sorry
I too like huge breadrolls, but I think baguettes are pushing it
What I find weird is that Tyr didn't even need to technically be alive post-Ragnarok for him to have this role. He literally could have been an appiration in Valhalla who fulfilled the same role he did in the story.
@@garrettcarter5622except kratos would have no memories of the real tyr as they never met before right?
Nice Gael pfp, best boss in souls history imo
I love how this fight always ends with Týr straight up catching a full power punch from Kratos like it's nothing
Yeah, same. So good.
Týr is barely holding that punch back and he knows it, hence surrendering. But it's awesome as hell, totally agreed there
God of war seems to never disappoint when it comes to soundtracks😍
BEAR McCreary its the best

@@kite_steelball don't forget cris velasco and gerard marino
“A man at war with himself places a deficit upon his focus. He is impatient, emotional, easily surprised. A man at one with himself has a clearer mind, sharper instincts. That man is ready to win. That man is ready to progress.” -Týr 2:42
This absolutely hits hard
Yeah, this one has really stuck with me
This quote sold me for Tyr as my new favorite character
I love how each weapon has different intros based on where they originated from, MesoAmerica/Egypt/Japan
Mediterrean*, egypt, cinese n japan; the first one is not from america.
@@martino1775 nah tyr uses a greek spear and shield, aztec macuahuitl, egyptian kohpesh, and Japanese katana.
@@goofyahhman9848Nah he uses his one spear that you can see in tyr’s statues all over the lake of nine. So it’s Norse,
@@martino1775my friend America is the name of all Continent (if your prefer we can said the Americas), other point when we say "Mesoamerica" is a archelogicac name for territory where was the Aztec and Mayan (and the other culture soo similar), that existed between central mexico to Central America. the second weapon is a Maquahiult from Aztecs culture.
@samsaturdays4768oh now that's a true God of war, his strongest attack is a goddamn nuke😭
Getting to see Tyr in action really put into perspective why Odin locked him up, and why Thor respected him in a way. Tyr, at least from the outset, seems to be the best fighter out of all the Aesir, and for good reason. He may not be as knowledgeable as Odin or as strong as Thor, but he earned his reputation as a God of War
Indeed it shows how much Odin feared him if Kratos and Atreus rescued this one instead of the fake he would gladly help to bring Odin down and lead the armies of Ragnarok alongside Kratos plus I bet he’s actually a good cook as well and gained recipes he acquired on his travels introducing them to a little bit of new cultures
This explains why Odin was so eager to see Groas panel when they rescued the fake Tyr. He wanted to see how him tricking them as Tyr changed the course of events
Clash of the two retired Gods of War.
This DLC was just... perfection. Gave us everything we could have wanted.
finally Tyr does something in GOW Franchise. We heard alot of his stories in gow4 and now we get to see him in action
Love how their themes clash, but not in a kind of clash to dominate the song. As the game shows, it's a spar, letting every piece blend with one another to create a beautiful symphony.
Clearing The Mind.
Ares:You have no idea what the true monster is.
Tyr:I understand it better than you realise.
Damn can anybody else think of a single other fight in this franchise that could be considered a friendly spar? A fight that Kratos could actually have had fun?
Ghost of Sparta. In the flashback where he is training his brother.
I mean, this really proves all the "enlightened, God of War, but also a God of Peace, God of Justice" stuff Tyr was hyped up to be in the first norse GOW game. Literally the entire battle-gauntlet of Valhalla is a therapy retreat for Kratos, and nothing less than one of the few gods who just might be a match for him, in power and personal experience, reflection, and growth, is needed to be his therapist.
"Sup bro, had a good jog(fight through thousands of enemies)? Ready for more fight-therapy?"
After beating this dlc, I can safely say that Tyr is one of my new favorite bosses.
Mine too
The game : doing meditation
The dlc : therapist and a great fighter
Tyr and Thor’s boss music are the best in my opinion :D
As it should considering they have some respect for Kratos and give him a run for his money.
Currently on the final phase for tyr and man is this guy difficult. Props to ths devs for making the real tyr live up to being a god of war.
Did anyone notice that Tyr's weapons are from the countries he visited based on the tapestry in Tyr's Vault?
Truly a mastercrafted game.
Everyone who was even slightly paying attention did.
@@krissuyx No need to be a dick about it, Brother.

masterpiece and new favorite GOW track. all hail Tyr
We finally got to see the Greek god of war going one-on-one with the Norse god of war… Christmas truly came early 😁
3:17 “War vs. War” I would have trained with Tyr all my life with this chorus….
I'd expect nothing less than this for Tyr.
This mf on the 4th run (when he had the Katana but he combined all 4 weapons) and in the hardest difficulty was a nightmare for me he was harder than Sigrun and Gna
I'm reminded of when Heimdall said "I can't remember the last time someone *HIT* me." And I'm thinking, maybe Týr managed to wreck him a few times on the past.
Eso significa que al igual que kratos tyr tampoco pensaba sino que usa su instinto de combate ❤😎😎🤗🤗
a masterpiece of a track
that mofo was so broken in all his trillions of skills with his trillions of weapons. I loved it so much
Týr is truly the God of War ⚔️🙇🏻♂️
What about Kratos
@@offlineflex1I am referring to the God of War of the Norse world, I think I made a mistake by not specifying it.
*A* God of War
He really did not disappoint at all during the four encounters we had with him. He was able to switch between different Weapons of the Mythology like Kratos before.
@@offlineflex1 The God of Hope.
Sony SM: "Huh, looks like people were disappointed with Tyr in the base game."
Proceeds to make the greatest free DLC of all time
I actually loved the Tyr subversion in the base game.
@@Daniel_C_Griffinoh I loved it too, I'm talking about the post-game reveal that the real Tyr was in a prison the whole time. No cutscenes or anything; they just find him and then he can be seen hanging out in the other realms while you explore.
I almost lost it when I saw a health bar over Týr
FREAKING FINALLY HE DOES SOMETHING?!
Awesome fight too and I like that they kept it fresh every time you faced him, getting tougher and tougher every time
The soundtrack is definitely a new favorite 👌
Listen.....I thought GARM's theme with the vocals and drums, was a banger. But this one......added to the gym play list. These themes are..... GOD "Tyr" 😂😉
God of war music is my go to for lifting. I always end up pushing farther when it's playing
3:17 God when he lands and this banger starts I always get goosebumps❤
It's amazing how this fight is really just a simple sparring but the stakes feel so much higher. Tyr's narrating and questioning Kratos during the fight adds depth and makes it feel like the true fight occurring within Kratos. What a battle for free DLC!
It was something better than only sparring
This wasn't just a spar. Nor was it a test of conception. Týr was training Kratos to be in every shape and form a God of War - a _diplomatic_ and strikeful figure, one who fought not to satiate bloodshed, but to defend the peace.
What is great for me is that I think both of them were holding back, so imagine the scale of a full bloody battle between them if it were ever to happen
Týr USING WEAPONS FROM OTHER LANDS ! MY GOD THAT KATANA FIGHTING POSE !
This is such a great way to showcase tyr and how he wasnt used in ragnorak, both god or wars, a trial, i love the combo of both their themes, a test to kratos to prove to tyr and himself, he is ready to become the god of war once again, despite his past, despite his mistakes, he is kratos, the destroyer of worlds, but also the god of war, and a protecter of the realms, the theme at 1:17 beat describes this, the rage is still there, but now with a purpose, a determination to prove himself and protect those he calls friend
This brings a unique kinda energy in my life
Good lord, this music goes so hard.
The Tyr fight is just so much fun. A bunch of little gimmicks thrown in, but when you figure them out you start to expect the tricks. Not too easy, not a pushover. Has his own cool abilities like blood magic and clone attacks. Everything he does is fair and can be countered. Knowing that you'll have to get all the way back if you die keeps the tension up
That pic displays how big tyr is,
Great pic
Imagine if the final boss was young Kratos vs Old Kratos
Praying they make this a DLC an have young Kratos RIDICULOUSLY hard to beat just to prove a point as to who he was
That was a Thor
Old Kratos would never defeat his young self due to him being filled with a lot of different gods powers
just like madness combat 9.5
Honestly thought this was gonna after spoiled with the thumbnail showing that young version of him and the title having final boss, but happy with that final Týr fight.
“Because, you, are not ready. Yet”
It's cool that Kratos in ragnarok not only met chill gods
But the based tyr
Like god of war that isn't an arse
Eat your heart out Ares
Even War can have a zen take, lest we forget there are wars many would agree were just; the war to end slavery, the war to break Nazi occupation, etc. Anyone can make war. Doing it at the right time, with the right people, for the right reasons... now THAT's something few people get right. But this Tyr feels like he gets pretty close.. "We're going to wage war... on your self-doubt and depression! Literally! I'm making it manifest so we can kick it's ass together!"
Man I've been looking everywhere where for this. Thank you so much. Happy holidays friend.
Happy Holidays 🎅👍
NGL, when Tyr pulled out a godsdamned Macuahuitl of all things, I got excited out of my mind.
A God of War set in Mesoamerica would be a tale of blood and sibling rivalry that I imagine even Kratos would pause and say "What the Hel?" at. Though I imagine it'd probably be Atreus who would tackle that journey, likely kicking Mictlantecuhtli's behind for being a bastard to human souls.(According to this setting's lore.)
Imagine having to fight with star demons, winged jaguars, and all kinds of human-faced, bloodthirsty horrors, possibly cooperating with Quetzalcoatl-who famously loves mortals and detests 'fatal' blood sacrifices- against the likes of Tezcatlipoca-who has been resoonsible for Humanity perishing in 4 out of 5 incarnations in the Myth of the Five Suns-, maybe even have a showdown with Huitzilopochtli, the Aztecs' own God of War, the Sun and Sacrifice.
On the other hand, a God of War set in Egypt could probably even help Mimir get a body of flesh back.
3:20 - 4:10 is simply magnificent
you can feel this is the fight of two gods of war
Still felt he was holding back
yeah that scene after a fight end when he stop kratos's punch
It's a friendly match to be fair
If you lose to Tyr one of Sigrun's dialogs on the runback is "He won't hold back. He wouldn't insult you like that." or something like that. He's going full force.. for a friendly fight. I'd imagine he might get a little bit more dangerous if he were going for the kill but the same goes for Kratos.
"Don't hold back. I won't."
That last punch was also the same punch that he did in GOW4 when he used spartan rage on Baldur for the first time. The punch that sent Baldur flying into that tree. And the same punch that made Thor flee in GOW Ragnarök. Clearly neither were holding back.
Tyr sure earned the title.
Because, you're NOT ready. Yet.
If you fought against Tyr, then you also know why Odin was afraid of Tyr too.😂
I never thought they would make better soundtracks than original trilogy, but man this is a masterpiece holy fuck
Thanks a lot! Absolute Banger!
The God Of War from Greece and The God Of War From Norse basically 😌🔥✨
Santa Monica made such a masterpiece of a dlc and just gave it to us? Im tempted to buy another copy of the game just to show them gratitude
Wait for God of War Remake to do that

Merry Christmas & happy holidays to you🎅
This is a bop my word ooooooffffff
it's a massive shame that Tyr's theme is so ignored on the internet compared to The Hammer Of Thor or The All Father (which are justifiably recognized because they sound so good) but Tyr's theme sounds just as good, it sounds epic and heroic and awesome but nobody's done a remix of it at all
TAMBIEN LO ESTABA ESPERANDO JAJAJ GRACIAS BRO
This is amazing
Was Waiting For This One Thanks
Masterpiece. 🤩
Kinda wish when Tyr first summoned his weapons he also summoned his armor
This part in the theme, (1:00) along with the main part of Kratos’ theme is the greatest sound my ears have ever fucking heard. This is pure motivation in the form of audio waves.
Omg this track man this is how you honour a god of war that was wasted in ragnarok
Wasted? highly disagree we got a brilliant plot twist out of it
He wasn’t wasted

Tyr is like a Norse Jesus
Meeting the real the Tyŕ in Valhalla was one unexpected thing, but actually fighting the Norse God of War?
Best DLC ever 😎
Bear is the fuckin goat
The last fight was tough ngl
The last one is quite difficult as he mixes up his pattern to use every weapon, not to mention losing focus for a second could mean life and death in many cases. But if you play to your favorite weapon and its strengths, Týr is by far one of the easiest guys to fight. Whether it's mastery over the Axe, complete control over the Blades or fluent and precise movement with the Spear, all it takes is one chain and you have him beaten with very small difficulties.
You are not ready... Yet.
Bro as usual, goated showcase of such a goated OST😭 will you be doing all 3 of Tyr’s boss them as multiple have different symphonies based on his weapon’s mythologies
Yeah i probably will but as a extended vid with all 3.
@@GodofWarThemesayyy my guy💯 looking forward to it🔥
Remember theres is 2 or 3 other intro
1 with each weapon have different intro stinger.
The Katana have the Flute intro stinger.
I forgot the other 3
I have grabbed two others today & should have them up later. Also if you get Tyr down to his last bar the track removes the vocals.
Tbh, I thought he would be underwhelming the way ragnarok made a mockery by Odin impersonation.
After laying the DLC, I'm like "yea he could fuck thor and Odin up"
God of war vs god of war🗿

@@GodofWarThemesI've been running an RPG campaign for almost 5 years, your edition of Odin's music simply resulted in one of if not the most epic battles I've narrated in all these years. I'm narrating a new table, and man... this song just made me super immersed for the next boss fight of my rpg, the part from 3:20 onwards is literally a PERFECT battle symphony, what did they do in this song? It’s on another level. The only thing that makes me sad about the soundtrack of God of War, is that gods like Freya and Heimdall didn't have battle music as impactful as Baldur, Odin, Thor and now Tyr
Um Huxan! Battle of Gods of War!

The theme has small variations depending of the weapon he uses I think this is just the greek wepon one
The spear and shield are his own
The Spear and Shield are his own tools, the giant mace-like weapon is from Aztec or Celtic, a pair of Kopesh blades are from Egypt and the Katana is Japanese.
