Thank you for making a Nick Johnson video. Went to an O’s game on my birthday like 10 years ago, got to skip school, and had never heard of Nick Johnson before. But he was in the lineup for the Orioles that day so I said he was gonna hit a home run that day and he went yard twice. Only played 38 games for Baltimore and hit 4 home runs and I saw half of those on one day, I will never forget Nick Johnson
I found your channel with this video after searching "Nick Johnson mlb" after nearly typing "Nick Johnson underrated." Needless to say you earned yourself a subscriber.
The fact that Juan Soto has a .400 OBP in each of his first 5 seasons in the bigs is a stat that never ceases to amaze me (yes, I know this includes the mini-season in 2020 but still)
Having watched both stints with the Yankees, Nick Johnson was NOT underrated, he was properly rated as an on base machine "if he stays healthy," which he rarely did.
Naw...4 teams in a 10 year career? He was nothing, saw him a few times and he had spindly legs on a big body....When you have toothpick legs you should never wear your socks up! He looked like Big Bird with that fat body and those legs!
@@kendallevans4079 I like him on par with how good he was. He’s an all-time great at drawing walks. Sounds boring. But it’s valuable to a team’s offense. Unfortunately he often wasn’t available to his team due to injury, which certainly lessened his value. I’m just being fair. You’re being a hater.

I'm a baseball fan so I can appreciate seeing videos on the players whose cards I had and still collect
He was a beast in MLB 08 The Show for the Nationals
I always traded for him
08 power pros
Nick Johnson was also one of the best left handed hitters versus left handed pitching matchups in MLB history; check his career splits!
checked his career splits,.288/.422/.438 very good obp, 4th all time in that split (500 pa), 70th in slugging, 14th in ops
Good hitter. Glass body.
He was Joey Votto made of glass.
I will give this video it's due time, but I liked just for the thumbnail. I already know it's gonna be good
Always thought of Nick Johnson as Don Mattingly with a little less pop

Nice work on this!!!
The value of the walk. Literally if your on base percentage sits around .370 or higher. You are worth every penny.
Very interesting. Thanks!
Wow. I had no idea that Johnson was that good. Great video.
only 460 subs is crazy, definitely deserves more
Good video.

Hezzy doesn't know it, but he basically just made a video on how Joey Votto is a HOFer.
great video man keep it up
I can’t even find the all-time on-base streak list on baseball reference or anywhere else.

Well that chicken with spindly legs was a damn good MLB on-base machine when he was healthy.
@@jvandyck87 Really? .260 lifetime BA with a unbelievable 95 HR's. That is the definition of mediocre.
@@kendallevans4079 OBP matters way more than BA.
@@jvandyck87 You just like the guy, I get it
