Is Stan Musial a Top 10 hitter of all-time?

St. Louis Cardinals legend Stan Musial is probably a bit overlooked as one of the all-time great hitters. Does he have a case for the Top 10?

Micah Owings was the first name to come to mind and i was correct. 0.7 pitching war 3.3 Offensive war
100% had this guy on my fantasy team
Carl Scheib, babyyyy!!! pitched 11 seasons 0.2 pitching WAR 2.8 oWAR
Wow. Nice find.
How the hell did you know that?
@@whereisspacebar2991 I have a brain disease!
@@Trystaticus understandable, have a nice brain.
Seriously, what the fuck.
Dude could lowkey hit for a pitcher
10 year career? Not average
If you watch the full video I actually talk about that. He was very much above average in terms of his consistency and his ability to stay on the field.
Bro was just a baseball player
the man to compare all others to
He belongs in the Hall of Fame!
Omar was a badass!!! Clutch always!!
1,734?! 🤯
Dang
As a St.Louisan all I have to say is ohh yuuhh
Look like Messi hitting dingers
I'm sorry but stats back then aren't impressive to me at all. They were all drunk cheaters where bribery ran rampant. They didn't throw nowhere nearly as fast or with as much skill, they all were slow older men that half-azzed everything. They could cork a bat and they probably wouldn't even care. Baseball is one of those sports where you couldn't take a play from back then and have them play now cause they would have absolutely zero fkn chance.
Hey, we should mention Choi Jeong, who is the king of HBP in the world, has been hit the ball with 347 for 20 years.
Great videos. Any chance you do the most average fielder. Good luck!!
224 now
fair give and take, nice video
Great video! Sign-stealing aside, Judge should probably have won MVP in 2017 as well. Led Altuve - and the rest of the AL - in both bWAR (by a little) and fWAR (by a lot).
I love Stan the Man!
Dang, guy needs to calm down with the injuries!

First…for once in my life.😂
Congrats! One more thing to check off your bucket list.
Ted Williams’ biggest mistake was: He didn’t play in New York. If he had, there is no doubt he would be universally recognized as the greatest pure hitter ever.
And 406that Williams hit will never be broken. Because players stirke out 200 times and are lucky to bat even 300. How do they bat 400.? Dimaggios 56 games is not impossible. Batting 400. Now is
BONDS SHOULD NEVER BE MENTIONED.
WAde Boggs batted .400 from mid May 1984 to May 85. I wonder what the best inter season on base record is?
Nicely put together video! I enjoyed it.
Along with Al Kaline of the AL (my 2nd favorite), Musial is my most favorite player of all-time in MLB. I wore #6, as did both those players, in my baseball playing days up through 4 seasons in college. In little league, I learned to hit by listening over and over to Musial talking about hitting, on a Phillips 66 Petroleum promotion LP record. (I wish I still had that LP) Musial would have won more awards if he played in NY or LA, but I'm glad he played for the StL Cardinals.
I have The Man as the 11th (14th overall) best position player of all time between Ty Cobb and Jimmie Foxx. Idk how much higher I could see going with him tho.
Take a look at his Br page and see how many stats are in bold
Some interesting facts: 1. When he finished the 1944 season, before going into the military, he had 52 career home runs and 64 career triples. 2. The first time he hit over twenty home runs was in 1948, when he hit 39, more than doubling his previous best of 19, which he had hit the previous season. 3. The year he hit 39 home runs, he struck out 34 times. 4. The most he ever struck out was in 1962, when he was 42 years old. He struck out 46 times that year. 5. In only three seasons did he strike out 40 or more times. 6. Of his 3630 hits, exactly half were at home and half were away. 7. He played a mean harmonica.
He didn't get beaned even ONCE? That's absolutely incredible.
He had on OBP of .550 in 1941. Then he missed 2+ years to WW2.
I thought it was insane when Votto had an OBP of .500 for half of a season. Ted practically averaged it.
Teddy Baseball is the greatest American ever!
During DiMaggio's 56 game streak, Teddy Ballgame hit for a higher average than Joe did
What about Pete Rose?

Nobody calls Jim Thome "Jim Thomei"; it's Jim "Thomee."
No body will EVER hit 400! Because they Srike out 200 times now and lucky even to hit 300 not 400
Shohei Ohtani probably could do it. He has 216 HR's and by the end of the year probably 222. Since 2021, he averages 40 HR's a season. So, by 2026 he could be at 300 HR's. Since 2021, he averages about 20 SB's per season with a current career total of 132. By the end of this year I say he'll probably have 54 stolen bases giving him 141. However, if he starts averaging 35-40 SB a year then he could be at 300 SB by 2028 at the age of 34. Very surprised you didn't mention him.
I thought about including him. But in seasons when he actually pitches, he doesn’t steal as many bases. At age 29 he’s not even halfway there, and guys typically don’t steal more bases in their 30s, they steal less. So I just don’t see it happening. But with Ohtani, I wouldn’t be surprised by anything he does at this point.
@@Hezzy_Baseball That's because he doesn't want to injure his hands. Even with the glove for base stealing: he could still injure his hands. He averages 25 stolen bases a year when pitching but not pitching: we know he can steal twice as many. I think if he focused just on hitting and stopped pitching then he could make the 600 Club in HR's, 400+ Club in stolen bases, maybe the 2,000+ Club in RBI's, 2,500+ Hit Club etc., but when he's Pitching he doesn't take as much chances when hitting. However, he may make the 500 Club as a Pitcher if he signs on for a couple more years after his 10 year Contract unless he continues to hit 45+ HR's for 4 to 5 more years. He's a good Pitcher but he's an excellent hitter.
Interesting list.
boone is definitely on track for most ejections
