Dear Sophie, I’m the silent type of audience who love watching your videos without making comments. Yet this video inspires me so much to do so. Your message came at a perfect time when I’m hoping to make changes in some aspects of my life. While there is much to be grateful for, I noticed myself subtly looking at the lack or imperfections either in myself or in my environment based on the externalities projected by others. Thank you so much for bringing this message to clear light so that we could live the life true to our heart and soul. Love from Singapore 💕
We are so used to seeing edited lives on social medias that we're forgetting that that's not real life. It's taking away the joy we can experienced in our tiny daily mundane moments 😊
I just went on vacation, but my sister-in-law paid for it because she is dying with a terminal illness and wanted one last family trip, though we don't publicize that reason online at all. It makes you appreciate things a lot more when you see how quickly life can go by and how quickly it can be taken away too. What a beautiful video. I always appreciate your statements too.
Your video reminded me of one of my favourite quotes. "If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore; and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God which had been shown." It always reminds me to appreciate the beauty around us with that childlike wonder, instead of taking it for granted!
I love the idea of treating more moments like “first times”. You’re right that going on a walk with a dog or a toddler, even if it is the same walk you take every day, is always exciting. There is this huge anticipation of finding a new leaf, a new scent, a new person, or a new experience that keeps them moving forward ready to explore. This idea also helps us all slow down and pay attention. Such an important reminder!
This really hit the spot today, thank you. Have been feeling pretty bummed out, because I want changes but currently have to accept what is. I think we all only look at the lives of others when we’re dissatisfied in some way. What I like about your videos is how much you remind us all of the power we have to curate each moment. Knowing the power to create is always with me just makes my soul melt. 💕💐 ps hope you feel better now. I’m recovering from an awful cold and wonder if it’s my body’s way of making me just take stock of the magic of having good health over anything else.
I really enjoy taking walks and just wander around but sometimes my anxiety pops up and makes me feel stuck. But I discovered what helps me get out of my head in these moments is taking reference pictures for my art. I then shift from worriyng to really seeing my surroundings, trying to get an nice angle and planning which elements I might want to change or add for a future illustration! This little mindfulness exercise really helped me and maybe it will help another creative soul out there as well. Lots of love and appreciation from a German art girl
Hi Sophie, I've watched almost all your videos, and they have really helped me a lot. When I feel distracted or lost, I rewatch your videos to remind myself of the valuable lessons you've shared. Even when I'm busy, I play your videos in the background just to hear your soothing and encouraging voice. Thank you for your God-given purpose; it has changed many lives. ❤️
Would love an updated minimalist video on skincare, beauty, etc. the obsession with all these skincare and makeup products is what seems to suck me in to a black hole 😢
I started a new channel less than a week ago and was feeling discouraged - one of my friends told me I should follow you and honestly, you are SUCH a breath of fresh air. I'm so thankful for your content. Thank you
Watching your videos heals me from my past self that is overly obsessed with the idea of "perfect life," which resulted in financial struggles. Your videos made me realize that living with less does not mean you will not experience the most of your life. After all, we just need to be contented with what we have without the need to conform with social media standards. Thank you.
I started my minimalism/de-cluttering journey during the pandemic and was not even aware there was such a thing called "minimalism". However, seeing your videos inspire me more on living my life simply and intentionally. My life has changed so much since I have learned to detach myself from things (and even some people) and started to create a more meaningful life outside the culture of consumerism.
I choose not to compare. When I feel myself comparing, I try to go do something else. It's REALLY hard not to it's so human to do that but honestly? Comparison is the thief of joy as they say. I'm a lot happier using social media less. I'm happier just enjoying the little things and feeling gratitude as much as possible. Life is hard but it could be SO MUCH WORSE. And HAS been for me specifically!
Thank you, Sophie, for your practical & thpughtful content. 100% true...we don't know the full picture, which means we often unknowningly think that the outward apparemces via in person, thought heavily via social media are realistic. Not so...❤ I am not a morning person...ugh...so it takes me longer to ease into the day. ❤ May you feel much better soon. ❤
I really like that you stress the importance of perspective and I'd also add a matter of mindset that allows us to enjoy our life and not chasing shadows of someone else's Three to four years ago, my ideal self was someone who exercised regularly, saved money, worked with people and not only with technology, spent winters in sunny places (I have seasonal depression), owned only necessary things, and was a loving and appreciative partner. Today, I am that person, and I am truly happy, even though I gave up a career, steady salary, and comfort. Sometimes I think I couldn’t be happier living my life the way I feel and see it.
Thank you for publishing this video. I am also discovering that happiness is in the little things, that actually often don't cost anything, and that the rat race will consume you if you don't zoom out, reflect on what matters to you, and look for the beauty in life. When you look for it, you see it everywhere. Took me surprisingly long to get here but I am glad I arrived.
I saw this quote a few months ago and I keep thinking of it: I will everything around me beautiful and that will be my life. I think this video explains exactly what this quote means to me.
So well put! Each one of us sees and experiences the same thing in a unique way. Rather than comparing and competing instead ask what works for me. Be true to yourself and enjoy being you.
Loved this!! It’s the small simple things that are the best and make life special. Thank you for sharing, I’m going to romanticize my life a little more today! ❤
One of my favorite videos you’ve posted! I just loved this and I had a little aha shift moment where I saw a new perspective on something I’m dealing with. Thank you.
I so enjoyed it, including the partial vlog. I also remember 'iki gai' and I know what is worth in my life and what is not. Happy living and keep building more romance with life.
I don’t know why but it was so helpful that you said that most days your not at the ocean or outsite but also at home as everyone. Because many RUclipsrs tell that their life is normal as well but while saying that, they’re doing fancy stuff and everything is so beautiful. I don’t mean it as an accusation; I would also just want to show the bright side. But I think it’s important to show that life is simple. Beautiful, but simple. So I’m really thankful that you said that. I wish everyone the best 🤍
Dear Sophie, your videos are the brightest spot in my day.. Pleaseeeee keep making it. As an INFJ, your videos make me feel heard and centered. Lots and lots of love❤
Thanks for the video. As a highly sensitive introvert I find your messages very soothing and easy to listen to. They are a great reminder to take pleasure in the simple things and not take anything or any moment for granted. Take care:)
Dear Sophi... I got the initiative of being a minimalist from you I am really happy with the life I have created for my self since then Thankyou so much Wish you all the happiness on Earth
Thank you so much for this video Sophie. I really need it right now as sometimes I oversee my blessings by looking at others achievements. Thank you for your constant reminders through your vlogs. ❤
hello sophie I admire you a lot and you're one of the reasons I started to document my life in my youtube channel. I missed you so much and I still remember the time you replied to mu comment ❤
beautiful video and message! 💜As a newer youtuber, I'm leaning into more "unedited", real content w/ a version of myself shining through- the real me. That, as you said is the light- we each have our own glow, and it's not worth comparing to one another b/c we're unique and authentic in our own ways! blessings to you!
I love this, it is savoring the peace, and appreciating the simple things in life, and that is beautiful. I just discovered this channel yesterday, and subscribed. 💙
Oh my, so good to hear you also need a lot of time to wake up: so do I. And I have resisted and have beaten up about it thoughout my life! No more!!! I indulge now in my slow mornings... After that I am all yours 😂😂😂
This video was best way to start my day! You summed up well what I have been feeling recently. Just woke up and now excited to get up! Lots of love from Finland. Thank you ☺️❤️
Thank you for this video! I resolve that instead of splurging on clothes I no longer need (not even pre-used clothes) I will gift myself a Quality Subtly Scented Candle :.))
Thank you so much for making these beautiful videos , and to talk about these subejcts that are so important in life , and to remember often . I enjoy your videos very much and I want to congatulate you for your four years doing them . Thank you ! sending love from Argentina
such a beautiful and powerful video Sophie, just what I needed today also the music you used along side your video made me tear up. You are a gifted and special being. Sending you so much love
Hey Sophie good to always catch up with your relaxing videos. With what you said that's why in the commandments of God it says we must not envy anyone's life because in real sense we don't know how they got or had to do to get all those things. Some had to work hard and honest passing through difficult challenges to get there and some had to do things related to the dark side to get there. Although it's not easy not to envy but we try. Well said find the personal reason to keep going. And for me what one thing that would bring joy is to be grounded in Christ because He surely brings stability in this chaotic life.
Sophie, I would like to know was it rice or pasta you mixed with your greens and pesto? I have never seen before, but it lookes very delicious. Thanke You 🙂
I wish I could articulate my thoughts and feelings into words like you do. I’ve been watching your videos many times, but this one… so beautiful. It depicts all of my recent realizations so well. Also, my heart always skips every time you mention those Japanese words that reflect the Japanese philosophy which I like. - Saved. ✅
I really enjoy watching your videos,Sophie! Your words inspires me to look life in better perspective.I’ve always been listening to your videos just like how I listen to some podcast while doing things, and it really help me stay productive and motivated.Wishing you all great things in life!💗
first off i absolutely love ur videos ! so real and grounding and i truly gain a better perspective after watching them . thank u so much for all ur hard work ❤ ps - the hours of 2-4 pm i dread! lol it’s that awkward in between time , lunch is over and it’s not quiet dinner , im usually burnt out and exhausted, and if i have time i try napping but it’s hard for me as my mind races while i force myself to try … so i usually treat myself to a coffee drink or matcha …. any suggestions for that awkward time of day ?

Agreed!
Yeah social media is social media 🤭
It is real but they are just only showing the highlights of their life. Social media is about boasting

"See the beauty in your own life that sometimes get overshadowed..." what a beautiful phrase 🌸🍃🌄
The harder you fall, the higher you'll bounce back.
I'm going to remember that!

We never really know whats going in other’s lives and its almost silly how we end up idealizing other’s lives. Thanks for such an incredible message ❤
