So glad to find your channel. Thank you for the great tips. I am in Florida and currently vernalizing my garlic for planting in October(I think). I did get a small harvest last year from grocery store bought garlic and hopefully it will increase my yield. I now will be planting some celery.

Ah, thank you Kayce and I'm so glad I can share insights and value with you 💚
Garlic is awesome to grow and great pest deterrent! Hoping you get a bountiful harvest of celery 🌻

Time to pull out the tomato plants and make green tomato chutney! My Brads Atomic Grape tomatoes are full of fruit and still flowering, but nothing's going to ripen much any more... There are self-seeded leeks under the tomatoes. It's their turn now.

Ah that sounds amazing, Penny! Isn't it an amazing feeling when the ant fed you and then also decide to self seed. To me, this is the most rewarding way of growing food - being directed by what nature wants. Happy gardening 🌱

I really love this videos, thanks for this! I would love if you could make more videos on what to do when. Not so much as a big video with a list of things to do, but rather short weekly videos or posts on your channel where you share what you've been doing in the week. That would be great to remind us what could be done on a weekly basis. If you're doing that already please guide me to it! I've got the bad tendency of being late in my garden and getting les yield because plants struggle to grow when sown/planted too late...

Hey Nadine, what a great suggestion! I will most certainly do this for you as I am already starting my spring seed planting, so I will do a video this week on why I am starting now, what I am getting started and getting prepared. Where are you based? That might help with the info I can share for you.

@@MySustainabilityJourney hey, I'm in Wellington so not too far, just a bit warmer. We've exchanged some messages on some of your other videos :) thanks a lot I appreciate it! I've just been transplanting tomato seedlings. They sprouted from vermicompost i used to grow peas so getting a head start this year. I hope it's not too early. I'm still eating tomatoes from my plants from last summer!

Oh yes, of course, sorry didn't recall 😁 yeah you can also get going with most of your summer seeds because our winter has been so very mild this year. I have a couple rogue tomatoes that have sprouted in the garden that I leaving and got all my squash going too. Really trying to get an early start to combat this pesky fruit fly 🌻

Thanks for the heads up! I was looking at my baby marrow seeds earlier and thought nah I'll wait. But will give it a go next weekend

@@nadoubidou I haven't sown any summer squash seeds yet as they grow and fruit really quickly. All my winter squash is sown though. Will probably start my summer squash 1st or 2nd week August, depending on what the weather does 🌻
