It's known as a wobbler steam engine. The cylinder wobbles up and down and while it's moving either lets steam in or out. These are very common in model steam engines. If you google "How a wobbler steam engine works" you'll find lots of videos that will explain it better than me.
@nathantrost7773 Get yourself a copy of the book called "Building Simple Model Steam Engines" by Tubal Cain, it includes easy to follow details for several engines to make. This is one that I made following one of the plans in the book: ruclips.net/video/EzgnuaZD7aA/видео.html I can also recommend joining the "Unofficial Mamod Forum" as people there are always building, repairing and tinkering with model steam engines: www.tapatalk.com/groups/modelsteam/ It's a very friendly group and I've learnt a lot from just seeing what other people are doing and it's a good place to ask questions if you don't understand or get stuck on something.
Once it heats up it flies! Never seen one running before, excellent simple design. Love it, thank you for the video
I think the over enthusiastic burner helps. Now I know why there's no paint left on the fire box.
There's a timeless simplicity to a steam engine. It can use about any source of heat for power as opposed to internal combustion engines.
beautiful engine
wonderful!
very nice engine
Got one almost identical,,,,got it for Christmas about 65 yrs ago...I'm 75
Always remember to check out the safety valve as they can stick with age and a burst boiler even of this size could scald anyone sitting nearby!
That's a very good point to mention, and is something that I always check on any steam engine before firing it.
Wow what a beautiful and wonderful you re,a,, brilliant idea thanks 🙏 for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nice 👍. How does the valving on that work ?

It runs ! 😀👍 are you using alcohol for fuel ?
It's alcohol, but here in Australia we call it Methylated Spirits, or "Metho" for short.
Vodka!!!😂😂😂😂😂 Viele Grüsse aus Germany
So cool 😎
Nice 👍
What is the time autonomy?
About 10 minutes
very nice
Did you build that?!
No, these were a commercially made model engine from the 1970's made by Parken Engineering in Australia.
👍👍👍👍😊😊❤
I bought one in a fllea market, fired it up and asked my self, wtf?
Ohne Öl???😱😱😱😱😱 Viele Grüsse aus Germany
Mmm muchos fierros 😁
Aneh tapi nyata.
