I just discovered this song ,From packed to the Rafters. Watch it on Hulu. Im in the USA..I love it!!!
I’m so used to the PTTR version, I *almost* like it better - but will listen to this version a few more (dozen) times; this one seems a bit more “punk” than the TV version and my ears may be expecting Rock, so perhaps that’s it. Or...maybe it’s Craig McLachlan, lol!! ❤️ So cool it is an actual hit! 🎸 🎶 Actually, saw “Dave Warner” in the subtitles, so I had to look him up😊💕 (p.s. - also from the U.S. - don’t hold it against me!😊🤣)
You've got most excellent taste.
Classic & the reality of life in late 1970s suburbia
classic absolute classic
I saw him play live at QIT in the seventies. I’m reading one of his books, Before it Breaks, a great read.
Man, back in da day i saw thez guys (in Sydney) so many times i lost count! I'm an old punk, n it didn't matter how they dressed, they were punk as fuck too. Absolutely fantastic live, n da lyrics..... great piss taking, covering every subject. When they hit town i neva missed a gig, n it was all da better coz they were a pub band, up close n personal! Just pulled em up after years n years, funny how as soon as they start you don't forget da lyrics. Fanfuckingtastic! I live in London now, tho listening to em, i'm transported back to da Goulburn pub on Goulburn St, a good ol' 'hose out' in true Oz stylee! Or upstairs at the Oxford Tavern (yonks before it became a gay pub). Great fuckin daz, brilliant memories! Thanx Dave n crew, ya still relevant to me! This is Sowf London Calling.....☠️✌🏽🏴
Thanks Kim, just saw this response - love that you loved it

Howdy Dave, thanx so much for replying direct to me. It's a personal touch that means alot, you're obviously still as down to earth as ever. They certainly were brilliant days, we all had so much fun. It may mean i'm 62 tho i feel blessed to have been around for the music of the 70's/80's n onwards. As much as i enjoyed, n still play, all of your music, if i had to pick a favourite single..... It'd be 'African Summer'. Ok, this' becoming an epic novel. So i'll thank you once more, for the music n your reply. Wishing you peace, love n happiness, may life alwaz be kind to you. ☯️🍻🍻🏴
@@kimtodd1202 my pleasure KIm, what a great time we all had in the day. Glad you can enjoy my music still.
Way to go Kim! Great to hear a fellow fan enthuse about these guys, and those great days with brilliant bands.
Just this morning, someone was taking the piss out of me because of my convict ancestry, (of which I am rather proud) so I made him listen to 'convict streak'. Fucker.

Fond memories. I used to see Dave Warner and co at The Red Lion, Aberdeen St (the other side of the railway line) Perth circa.1974/5? Their cover of Lou Reed''s Sweet Jane just had to be seen.
Nothing beats "Half Time at the Football" at the Shent`s on a Saturday night..A different rendition every time (thanks Dave) and Johnny Leopard carving it up on guitar, RIP .Half the blokes in this clip maybe my school mates, (REJECTED!!)
