you just haven't been blessed by rngsus. it gives me blizzard and fireball many times or even flamestrike if they have a big board. if they get no board you can get ice barrier or counterspell or the taunt minions
The value! A 5/5 is worth 4 mana, and 6 pairs of 0/2 taunts is worth around one mana each, and then you add a one mana tax for bundling the cards, and wow! 11 mana worth of cards in just one card!
the least intellectual Arcane Intellect I have ever seen played and of course it's Chadgar and the Hearthstone AI. I think they broke Zephrys' programming because he's been offering really dumb choices lately and it seems like Chadgar is supposed to use a Mage pool and some sort of version of Zephrys' programming to choose which spell to cast. They need to fix it. It's very annoying to have one of the cards of all time and a brand new Legendary both acting like they don't know how to play Hearthstone. Chadgar needs a better pool of spells and/or better priority rules. It definitely shouldn't necessarily prioritize lethal above all else because that would be pretty broken, but if your opponent is at 2 with an empty board and it doesn't kill them that's ridiculous. I didn't even play this game and I'm really really annoyed about this. I feel like something has been personally stolen from me just watching it do that.
That it's an active consideration was never in doubt. It was clear that it wasn't. It's not Zeph. It was always clear that there isn't an AI behind the spells being cast. But the card does very much take things into account, just people are just misunderstanding what the card does. It picks a random spell from a pool. Before it picks the spell, it removes spells that wouldn't be applicable from the pool. I.e, if the enemy doesn't have any minions on board, blizzard is removed from the pool. That's it. It cast's a useful spell, simply means that it will never target your own minions with a damage spell, and that it won't cast blizzard on an empty enemy board.
At 32:43 I think the play was to play the manipulator first because you only need 2 dmg face to have lethal with double frostbolt + HP so you may as well get the info and then decide upon it, and it's extremely likely lethal
I'm starting to like Watercolor Artist so much. The card has some hidden potential for the future expansions since the mana reduction happens regardless of its existence in the field and happens every single turn after it's played, it's like an ongoing effect for the whole game until the spell is actually played. Mage just needs a powerful high-mana Frost spell to pair with it and there's potential for a wincondition outside of Sif, Elementals and playing a minionless deck. Galactic Orb would be another wincon in that kind of deck
I knew that Khadgar's IA was going to be pretty weak, because I play wild and is obsene how bad Zephrys works in current year. But I though that at least was going to try it. I don't know if is bugged or just works that way but it feels like it just cast random cards from a small pool without context. They should change the text to "Cast *Occasionally* helpful spells" as the original Womdrous Wisdomball says.
@@juliandacosta6841 Yes. But they make you believe that the card reacts in some way to the board state, and if your opponent has a 12/3 on the board is going to prioritize to remove that minion. But instead it could just makes you draw 2. It even makes me draw 2 when I had 8 cards on hand. making me overdraw on the next turn when it could do literally anything else. I'm pretty disappointed with the effect to be honest, they could make it way better with just a few twiks on when casts each spell.
@@paperknigth2263 "helpful mage spells" implies that it will take the state of the game into account, but it doesn't, with the exception of never casting blizzard on an empty board and not playing a secret that you already have out. It really should extend that logic to not playing arcane intellect with 8 cards in hand and not playing mirror image with 6 minions on board.
Damn that winrate! If you keep it up you will literally hit rank 1 legend in no time buddy! This deck must be hidden broken, or maybe you are just that good :D
@@thijs2906 Nahhhh I haven't played standard in honestly like a year so I'm bronze so even though my opponents all had full net decks they weren't very experienced I don't think 😅(edit) I also legit played against 2 core mage decks 😂
I have been learning sonya waterdancer with cover artist and the cost reduction pirate in a drill rogue deck and having an absolute blast. It's nice to actually have options during your turns and do some thinking instead of just playing on curve. Edit: cover artist with the many bounce effects is great on priest titan Can't wait for the 30 card balance patch.
Currently 1-8 with this garbage at legend lol. Warrior (brann) - has aftershock, bladestorm, trial, sanitize, bellowing in top 10 cards. Paladin (buff) - has all their buff stuff immediately, overwhelms me Druid (dragon) - Has all the dragon ramp, makes taunt wall + fyr. Shaman (reno) - has lightning storm, lightbomb (generated from watcher), aftershock, volcano top 10 cards. Druid (dragon) - Got him down to 4hp, then he frost lotus +10 armor into crystal cluster + fyr. Nope, still can't win. Deathknight (plague) - drew both patches, has all plague stuff immediately. Bad hand. Warlock (wheel) - Instantly unwinnable, didn't have a solid hand either. RNG missed the kill on the 8/8 (the 5 mana one). Deathknight (plague) - Finally won one! Haven't seen Khadgar once either lol. I've played a lot of elemental mage in the past, but it's just not working for me.
Power levels are just baseline high and surprisingly balanced. Balanced as in they're all wayyy too powerful. Seriously grab a stock Death Knight and you can pull a good winrate. Outside of that, any archtype post DK can pull some wins semi consistently
@@dandavidson3942 I don't see it having much issue getting to legend or at "16821" which is the rank I saw when I looked up and saw what chump was playing this deck at. I'd put money stock DK is better that you're giving it credit for, even today.
I'm mildly offended that Shale Spider is an Elemental rather than an Elemental Beast when literally every other spider ever was retconned to also be a Beast... Why have they done this? What did Shale Spider do to hurt them?
Khadgar is honestly not a good fit for this deck. It breaks Elemental synergies very easily because of the high mana cost and is so inconsistent in giving you what you actually want in the moment, I think it's really overcosted for how random it can feel. I would honestly rather run an Azerite Giant for the potential of a turn 5 8/8, or turn 4 if you have the Coin. Hell, I'd rather run Ragnaros.
Not this version I'm afraid. A more aggressive version with more 1-drops and maybe more reach (Fireball and Forged Rune instead of the frost package) can steal wins earlier than what the warrior needs to lock you out of the game
Fr Khadgar so strong. 6 mana 5/5 that summons two 0/1 taunts at the end of the next 6 turns

Counterspell so you don't die 🤓🤯.

This video proves to me that Chadgar orb does not take into account anything at all when it comes to casting the right spell

Khadgar's orb select the three best spells in the situation and randomly cast one of them.
It should be called misplay ball
I rather play OP Protoss Ball

I like to run Azerite giant and Therazane in the same deck- it feels great rn
In Game 4 the opponent was 1 off lethal by playing leokk instead of misha and heropowering, pretty sure he had 28 damage

What's that other legendary besides khadgar called And is it mage or neutral
Where and when is Chump streaming? His Twitch says that last streamed 7 years ago.
